Cause She's 2,000 Light Years Away (A Mike Dirnt Story), chapter 10

Eleanor applied the black eyeliner and blue eye shadow before checking her image in the mirror. She smiled at the result; a tight black t-shirt with the words, "GREEN DAY" printed on it accompanied by a pair of white jeans and a black miniskirt over it. Her hair was straight as usual with blue highlights and last but not least her favorite high heel boots. She straightened her skirt and double-checked that she got everything with her; the ticket, the camera and of course money.

She descended the stairs to meet the guys. Tre whistled when Eleanor arrived at the bottom of the staircase. "Hey, there sexy," Tre purred. She smiled at his light green t-shirt and the brown shorts that he was wearing. Mike, Billie and Adrienne turned their gaze from the television to Eleanor.

"Elle, I never knew that you will wear something like this!" Billie beckoned. He was wearing a white and blue sleeve t-shirt that had 'STUPID' written on it with an arrow pointing at himself combined with a pair of black trousers.

"Elle, you look fab!" Adrienne exclaimed. "Love the combinations." Eleanor noticed that Adrienne was wearing a black t-shirt with a picture of a skull on it and a miniskirt with a pair of high heels. She also had her hair tied up high.

She blushed at the attention. "Thanks." Mike walked over to Eleanor and grabbed her waist swiftly. "You look like a princess," he whispered into her left ear.

Then his mouth crushed down on hers, parting her lips ruthlessly. Powerless, with no will of her own, she found herself trembling passively in Mike's sudden embrace. Her mind swam and seemed to shimmer, and she felt as if she were slowly dissolving under the sensual warmth of those demanding, searching lips.

When he finally began to withdraw his mouth she then realized that there were people watching. "Aww... I thought there was going to be free porn," Tre whined. Eleanor's cheeks were flaming now. "Okay, enough staring guys. Now that we are all ready, let's go," Mike said.

Eleanor made her way through the excited crowd and to the front row. Somehow she actually managed to get the front row ticket but now she had to save money again for a guitar strap that she wanted to get for Mike. She just couldn't believe how many people had come. Some were holding their banners, some were wearing their Green Day t-shirts, and others just eagerly waited for the concert to start. 'Where's Adie? ' she wondered. 'She said she's going to come in a minute. ' Eleanor looked at her watch, 7. 50p. M. 'The show's about to start. Where is she? '

"Billie Joe is so cute!" a squeaky voice said beside Eleanor. She turned to see a girl about the age of seventeen or eighteen in a pink tank top and a pair of tight black jeans and amazingly red hair busily chatting to her friend. She laughed softly. 'Sorry, girl but he is taken. Adie loves him so much, ' she thought.

"Hello, everybody!" Billie's voice boomed in the stadium. "How's everybody tonight?"

"GOOD!" the crowd shouted.

"Are you ready to rock?!"

"YES!"

"Great! The first song is called Dry Ice." Immediately an energetic Tre Cool started hitting the drums and Mike's bass came in and lastly Billie's Fernandez Stratocaster. Eleanor's finger started to click on the button of her camera.

Half way through the show, Eleanor found Adrienne. "Hey, Adie! Where have you been to?" she shouted over the crowd's cheering and the loud music.

"Oh, I saw a couple of my old friends," Adrienne yelled back. Eleanor nodded and continued to dance to the beats of the drums. Not long after, Billie was so caught up with the moment; he was pouring water at the crowd from his drinking bottle. The crowd was going crazy now; they were pushing forward until Eleanor believed that she was going to suffocate. A hand pulled her from the crowd.

She took a deep breath and look for the person who rescued her. "Jake! You're here. And this must be Kate."

"Yep, this is Kate. Kate this is Eleanor."

"Hi, Eleanor. Nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you too. Do you like the concert?"

"Yeah! Green Day is the best!" she shouted back.

"THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR COMING TONIGHT! This next song is called 2, 000 Light Years Away," Billie shouted into the microphone.

Hurriedly, Eleanor took her camera for some photographs. She also noticed that Mike was looking at her direction most of the time during the song. 'Is he looking at me or the people behind me? ' she thought and shrugged.

"CAUSE SHE'S 2, 000 LIGHT YEARS AWAY. YEARS AWAY." As Tre hit the last beat, the crowd applauded and cheered, some even screamed. "Thank you. Thank you everyone for coming. We hope you enjoyed the concert. Good night!" The guys walked off the stage.

When Eleanor managed to get out of the stadium without being squashed, she walked to the parking lot to wait for the guys at Billie's car. She leaned on the dusty, old, blue '67 Ford Fairlane and sighed as she watched the people driving off. She closed her eyes to enjoy the sound of the cars and the wind.

"BOO!"

"What the fuck?!" Eleanor shouted. Tre and the rest laughed at her expression. She scowled at Tre.

"Ooo... Someone's mad," Billie teased.

"Shut up, Billie!" Her eyes shooting daggers at Tre. "You scared the hell out of me Tre."

"I'm sorry, Elle. I don't mean to. I was just playing," Tre said apologetically. She looked at him. "Fine, apology accepted." Tre smiled and tried to hug her but she pushed him aside. "Don't even try to come near me, Mr. Wright. You're all sweaty."

"Aww... Come on, Elle."

"No."

"Hug time."

"No. But how about a photo?"

"Okay." The guys posed together and Eleanor snapped a photo.

"Thanks, guys."

"No problemo," Tre said happily. Billie unlocked the car and all of them jumped in with Billie as the driver and Adrienne beside him whilst Tre sat between Eleanor and Mike at the back.

Eleanor stared at the images flashed past her as the car zoomed through the town. When the car came to halt, she looked around the surrounding and realized that she was at her house. She turned to find a gently snoring Tre, so she got out of the car and was about to say goodbye to the others when Mike came out too.

"Is it okay, if I stay at your house tonight. Beej, here is going commando," Mike asked.

Eleanor chuckled. "Okay, I don't see there's any problem. Alright then guys, bye. See you guys later. Oh yeah and that was the greatest show ever."

"Thanks Elle and goodnight," Billie said with a grin and the car sped off. Eleanor shook her head and ascended the steps towards the door and unlocked it with Mike trailing behind her, smiling.

She took off the boots and ran up the stairs. She took a towel, the shirt that Mike left here last week and a pair of trousers from an old closet where all her parents' clothes were kept. She turned around and found Mike was standing at the stairs She handed him the clothes. "You can use the bathroom downstairs."

"Thanks, Elle." He smiled and walked down the stairs. 'He must be really exhausted after the concert. He barely spoke so far, ' she thought and headed to her room. She got her pj's and had a shower.
