Break The Silence, chapter 2

After a few minutes of reassuring words, more crying, and lots of tissues, me and Billie went back to the large mixing room. Mike and Tre' could be seen from the large window to the practice room, with Rob the producer sitting on a chair with headphones on, listening to them. Me and Billie silently sat down. After a few seconds, Billie leaned next to me and whispered in my ear, "Err... Don't tell Rob, Mike, and Tre' what happened in the hallway, alright?" I nodding and smiled, "I won't. Billie Joe would never cry." He grinned, "That's right."

When Tre' and Mike finished their riff, Billie joined them in the practice room and Tre' counted them into the beginning of 'Jesus Of Suburbia'. I sighed: I loved this so so much. Rob took his headphones off and came to sit in the chair next to me, "Hey... What took you and Billie so long to get in here?" he said. Ugh, I was hoping no one would ask me that. I was a terrible liar, "Well, err... I wanted to tell him about a new song I thought of." I said off the top of my head. Rob smirked, knowing I was lying, "Oh yeah? Sing me some of it." I sighed, "Fine, you caught me. Billie... Had a fight with Adrienne today." Rob looked at me in amazement, "Really? Billie and Adie never fight..."

Practice was normal after that, and me and Tre' got in his car after saying goodbye to the band and Rob. Tre' said he had to go get something at the store, then we would stop at Mike's restaurant afterwards. So we stepped inside the store and I wasn't surprised to see teenies following me and Tre' around. Tre' went to the drink section and picked up some beer, then went to the cash register with me following him like a dog. A girl was at the counter, a preppy one at that, I thought. I usually only was around goths and punks, and an occasional teenie, so I wasn't really talkative or anything to her. Tre' sure was though, "Hello, again, uh, Maria." he said, glancing at her name tag, and flashing a smile at her. He bored expression vanished almost immediately, turning into a girlish look, fluttering her eyelashes stupidly, "Oh, hi Mr. Cool." She giggled flirtatiously. I rolled my eyes and she gave me a look that said 'and who is she? '. I felt like smacking her, Tre' doesn't seem to care, "Oh, this is just some poor little girl I got off the streets. She never does anything I tell her to. I'm thinking of getting rid of her." He pushed me out of the aisle, "I told you to get some grapes, you worthless thing!" I growled, then sulked over to the fruit section, people giving me odd looks as usual. I grabbed a bag of grapes, about to go back to the register, when I stopped dead in my tracks. Adrienne was standing next to a fridge, looking in at the frozen goods. I had no idea what to do. Should I go talk to her, or go to Tre'? I decided to talk to her, after all, she was still my friend. "Hey Adie." I said and smiled fakely. Adrienne turned and smiled as well, but her's was real, "Rachel! Fancy seeing you here." I nodded, "Tre' had to get some beer..." Adie didn't look as crushed at Billie, I thought. Adie nodded as well, putting a TV dinner in her cart, "Well, I better get home to the boys. Bye!" She said. "Bye..." I mumbled. I ran straight back to the register after that, handing Tre' the grapes. Tre' smacked me lightly on the back of my head, "What took so long?!" Marie giggled again, handing Tre' his credit card and bag, "Bye Tre... See you later." I practically had to drag Tre' out of there and into the BMW.
