Night of a Thousand Deaths, chapter 1
"Please, someone please tell me that sound isn't what I think it is." Mandy asked from the backseat of the 1975 mustang. The other four passengers in the car stopped whatever it was they were doing and listened.
"Ah, you're kidding me!" Brian stated. He stirred the car to the side of the deserted road and put it in park as soon as it stopped.
"What happened? Why did it die?" Alex asked. She sat in the back along in between Mandy and Megan. Kyle sat up front next to Brian who was driving the mustang.
"I don't know." Brian answered. He reached down towards the floor of the car and popped the hood. After he'd done this he stepped out of the car, quickly followed by Kyle.
The two examined the engine as the girls silently sat in the backseat of the car. Finally after half an hour had passed Brian came back inside the car.
"Well, it's taken me and Kyle almost an hour to figure out.....we're out of gas." He explained.
"Well that's just great, and who's job was it to keep track of the fucking gas?" Megan asked.
"The dick head that's still checking under the hood." Brian answered, nodding his head in the direction of Kyle, who was still under the hood.
"Great! A perfect way to end our little road trip. Stuck out in the middle of nowhere, with no gas might I add, with no place to go!" Alex added.
"Wait, I saw a house about a ways back. Well, it was more like a mansion but never the less it's bound to have a phone that we could use." Brian said. The girls just stared at him.
"Are you fucking serious?!" Megan shouted. Brian gave them a blank stare.
"What?" Brian asked.
"A mansion. In the middle of no where. Us, stranded out on the road with no gas, no money, no where to go...as Alex has said before.... doesn't this seem like a formula to you? Maybe a formula for the perfect HORROR MOVIE!" Mandy said. Megan and Alex nodded their heads in agreement.
"Oh my god Many honestly." Brian laughed. He stepped back out of the car and told what Mandy had just told him to Kyle. All the girls could hear from the back of the car was Kyle and Brian's laughter. Brian and Kyle made their way back over to the front door of the car, opened it and Brian stuck his head back in.
"We're going in the direction of the mansion. If you guys want to stay here and wait you're more than welcome to. But it looks like it's about to rain and I'm heading for shelter, no matter how much of a "formula" it is." He said.
Mandy, Alex, and Megan gave each other looks before following Brian and Kyle out of the car.
The five walked down the road for what seemed like forever. Before they knew it the rain started pouring down on them.
"This doesn't seem the least bit odd to you people?" Alex asked.
"Alex will you please give it a rest?" Kyle asked.
"I think she has a point. Our car stalled, we're walking down a deserted road and now it's raining. This is just a little to scripted for my taste." Megan added. Kyle just gave Megan a disgusted look and the five continued to walk towards the mansion. After what seemed like forever the friends finally reached the barred gates of the mansion.
"Okay again this is just like in the fucking movies." Alex said. "Before you know it some kind of rich and famous group are gonna walk up right next to us and claim they're in the same situation we are."
That's when Alex felt the tap on her shoulder...
