Long-lived Secret, chapter 1

"I believe in you
I'll give up everything just to find you
i have to be with you to live to breathe
you're taking over me

Taking over me
Your Taking Over Me
Taking over me
Taking over me"

The Evanescence lyrics pounded in Christin's ears. She trudged home in the downpour of the year. He hair was clinging to her face, her shirt was dripping, and her converse were soaked. And she was pissed.
She wasn't pissed because she was walking home from school in the rain, she actually liked the rain.
She was pissed because her brother hadn't come to walk with her home. She hated being alone, at all. Everyday for the past 2 years he walked home with her, or he made sure she had a friend to be with. When her family first moved to Berkeley, she liked it. But the first week she was beaten in an alley and since then, she didn't want to be alone, ever on the streets of the town.
She stomped in a puddle and the water splashed up on her. She smiled to herself as she opened the door to her house.
"Christin! What the hell happened to you?" Her mother asked
"Oh, that idiot over there didn't come to pick me up after school!" Chris backfired as she pointed to her brother, Frank on the couch.
"Hey, I asked Mike to but..."
"But, he was picked up from school early because he had a dentist appointment, you lazy idiot!"
"Hey! Both of you! Shut up! And you are grounded for not walking her home, you had the umbrella and she can't walk alone. She's your sister, take care of her" And with that, she walked off. Chris sat down next to her brother on the couch. They were fraternal twins and both 15, they looked nothing alike.
Frank, or as he liked to go by since he was 12, Tre had brown hair and green eyes. He was 5'6" and played the hell outta the drums and anything else worth using to annoy his sister.
Christina was 5'7" with black hair and electrifying blue eyes. Her facial features were soft and she looked about 2 years older than she really was.
She didn't dress like a whore, she just looked older.
"Why the hell didn't show up after school?" She asked him, glaring with bitterness over taking her tone
"Because..."
"Tre, you've never let anything at all stop you from showing up, and if you couldn't, you made sure there was someone there...what happened?" She repeated, easing up her tone. "Tre...what happened?"
"Nothing...just...these two guys..."
"Oh my God, what are you keeping from me?"
"No, they just scared me...and I ran out of school after lunch..." He said looking away from his sister.
"You couldn't tell me? And what did mom say when you came home?"
"I didn't find you, and she didn't know. I stayed at the 7-11 until 2:50 and started walking home, you came in right after her, so she didn't really know I was there because she was still caught up in her world of work. When she saw you drenched in rain, she knew something was up. I had the umbrella so I was fine" He said
"God...Tre...you shouldn't be afraid of dumb stuff like that. That's stupid." She said, standing in front of her brother, leaving a small puddle under her feet.
"I know, I'm just a pansy"
"No, your're not. You were just being stupid, it's okay, I still love you" Chris smiled at him, trying to make a joke. He smiled back and went back to watching TV. Christin walked upstairs and got some dry clothes.
She took extra time to stare at her one picture of one of Tre's best friends, Mike, who she'd had a crush on since she was 9.
He was 5'9" with long blonde hair he never could do anything with, so he just let it grow out. He was a skinny, funny, outgoing, spastic character at the same time. He never let out to much information and helped everyone if they needed it. She sighed and walked out of the room to the bathroom to put her clothes on. She was only carrying some pants, so she picked up the first shirt she saw in the bathroom, it was laying on top of the clothes hamper. She turned it rightside out and gasped. It was Mike's shirt he left here from the other night when he stayed over. A huge smiled spread across her face and she hugged it before changing into it. It smelled like him.
She put in new blue jeans and fixed her makeup that was smeared down her face from the pouring rain.
Christin opened the door to see her brother there.
"Tre, what are you doing?" She asked with a smile and looked
"Waiting for you to get out, I have to piss, really bad"
"I see...well, I'm not done" Chris closed the door and heard Tre fall against it.
"Yes you are! I have to go! Now!"
"Sorry, no can do." Chris leaned against the door and smiled to her self. Having Mike's sent and Tre tortured in one day. This was fun.
