There They Go..., chapter 14

I dropped by a local gas station to grab a drink. A Vault. I thought maybe after I'd get home I'd call Mike and see how he's doing. After paying for my drink I walked out to see a bunch of teens drive up laughing with some weird rap music playing. I just ignored them and kept walking.

"HEY! LOOK WHO IT IS!" yelled a familiar voice. Shit. I start to think. I hear someone jump out of the car and start running. They slam their hand on my shoulder.

"Hello. How's your pet?" asks Charlie. I sigh,

"Mike? He's fine... and he's not my pet cause the last time I checked, jackass, he doesn't have fur and claws. Why would you be askin' about him anyway?"
He shook his head with a sly grin, glaring at his friends.

"No reason." The grip suddenly tightens on my shoulder; which starts to hurt.

"And I suggest you loosen up your attitude missy or your gonna get it!"

"HEY! LET HER GO!" yells Abbey. We all look behind us to see Abbey walking around the corner.

"Its Abbey." Mumbled Joan.

"I SAID LET HER GO YOU PANSIE ASS DIPSHIT!"

"Who do you think you are calling my boy-" BLAM! Abbey bitch slaps Lisa and makes her way over to Charlie and me. Charlie then lets me go.

"You freaks just stay there! Lets go Lex."
We quickly walk away from the group and get in my car.

*DRIVING TO MY HOUSE*

"What was going on Lex?" asked Abbey. I took a sip of my Vault.

"Still threatening us. Charlie was asking about Mike."

"Why the hell would he do that?"
I shrugged. We pulled up and walked on the front lawn to the front door of me and Ash's house. My phone started ringing, I grabbed it out of my pocket, along with my keys and answered it.

"Hello?" I say unlocking the door.

"Lex have you seen Mike?" asks Ash.

"No, why?"

"Billie Joe and Tre both are worried about him. They've tried calling him but he's not answering."

"Hmm. I dunno where he's at... "

"Ok we'll try calling him again." We entered the house.

"Who was that?" asked Abbey jumping over the couch and flipping on the TV.

"It was Ash. They can't contact Mike."
I sat on the couch staring at my phone in one hand. It was unusual, now I'm even more worried about Mike. I then grabbed my keys and headed for the door.

"C'mon Abbs, where going to see what's up."

"ALRIGHT! ROAD TRIP!" she screeched.
*IN MY CAR*

"So where to?"

"We're heading to Mike's house... here," I hand her my phone, "Call Tre and ask for directions to Mike's house."

"Aye aye captin." And starts to dial the number.

"Ello, Tre? Yea we need the directions to Mike's house... Lex and me...no...no you don't need to meet us...yea...right...ok thanks. He said when you get to the dirt road just keep going straight till ya see a white house."

"Ok. What Did Tre want this time? That sounded more than directions."

"Oh he's just being his normal perverted self." She giggled. I parked the car near the bridge and we both got out.

"Lex, don't tell me we're walking there." I nodded.

"Remember Mike's mom? We don't need to catch hell from her. C'mon."

It wasn't long of a walk, but there were a lot of trees and mud. I was glad I wore my boots. Abbey on the other hand was pissed. I think the mud was so think she lost one of her shoes.

"DAMNIT!"

"What?"

"My foot's stuck! The mud won't let go!!!"

"ABBEY!!! C'mon! We'll come back and get it later!"

"WA?! You want me to just leave my shoe?!" I gave the puppy dog face.

"You'd do it for Tre I bet, do it for your friend! Please Abbey!"

"ARGH!"

So, she untied her shoe and walked in her sock and her left shoe. I wouldn't doubt her foot to be cold. It is winter after all. We finally came to a white house. It actually looked nice until you turn the corner and see this junkyard. Abbey then started chuckling.

"Lex look... whoever has a "BEWARE OF DOG" sign in they're front yard either doesn't have a dog or has a freakin poodle."

"But poodles ARE scary Abbey." I reply looking around. It seemed that no one was home but the back door was open all the way and since Mike's car wasn't around I assumed that Mike wasn't here either.

"Where did Abbey go?"
BARK BARK BARK

"I FOUND THE FUCKIN POODLE!!! LEX!! RUN!!!!!!" screeched Abbey running for dear life around the corner.

"OH SHIT!" Abbey and I zipped around the house and into the back door. I slammed the door shut as the dog clawed the back of he door.

"Wow... what a gloomy place." Remarked Abbey. I got off the floor and looked around. She was right; the place was dark and cold. For some reason Abbey started to walk around and snoop the house as well as I did too. I started for the hallway but stopped. Dark hallways kind of scared me but I continued to walk and soon came to the end, which led to a bedroom. I opened the door and saw that the place was completely trashed I dare not take a step into the room. It was his mother's room. Abbey soon came by my side poking her head into the doorway.

"Looky, looky I see turkey sitting on the nightstand! This woman is a drinker! Poor Mike."

"She's a druggie... " I mumble. I back away from the room and search the hallway coming to Mike's old room. I open the door slowly and peek inside. The room was really cold, the walls had 2 or 3 posters of different bands on them and there was a small bed in the corner. Clothes scattered everywhere around the place.

"LEX! LOOK!" Abbey calls out.

"Where are you?"

"In the bathroom!"

It took me awhile to find it until I saw Abbey standing in the bathroom doorway. "Look Lex."
I looked at the sink to see rubbing alcohol and cotton balls which was coated in a bit of blood. It concerned me but I wasn't sure if this led to Mike's disappearance...
