"You and your daughter have inherited... $90, 000."
It was silent in the room. You could barely hear a heart beating. Roxi was still standing behind the guy and only one thing was racing around in her mind. '$90, 000. Did he say $90, 000? ' Yes, he did. Roxi eyes drifted to her Mom. It was hard to tell what she was thinking, because half of her face was covered up in her hands. Her eyes didn't really give away to much detail either. They had some tears, but was she sad or happy with this?
"Mom, are you...?" Roxi couldn't finish what she was going to say because just then, her Mom lifted her head, moved her hands away from her face and showed a huge smile on her face.
"Are you telling me that we now have $90, 000!?" She said, a little louder than usual.
"That's what is says right here." He said pointing to the page he had in his hands. "But I must tell you that-"
"Mom." Roxi interrupted. "We have $90, 000!" Roxi shouted as she ran over to her moms opened arms. They hoped around the room together while singing $90, 000 to the ceiling. The man just sat there watching them until he was grabbed by Roxi's Mom and he started dancing around, too. When they were exhausted from all the dancing, they sat down on the couch and tried to catch there breaths.
"Would... Would anyone like anything to drink?" Roxi asked. The man and her Mom both answered yes so Roxi went to the kitchen to get some lemonade. She didn't really care if they wanted anything to drink or not. She just thought that this was the time when the grown-ups should sort this out, alone. She sat down at the kitchen table and waited. When she thought it was a good idea to go back in, giving it about 7 minutes, she grabbed a couple of glasses of lemonade. But when she entered the living room, she saw her Mom crying.
"Mom!" She shouted then looked over at the man.
"Honey, we have to... We have to..."
"What? What's wrong?"
"We have to move!" Roxi's Mom buried her face in her hands and started crying even harder. In an instant, Roxi dropped the glasses letting them smash to the floor, and ran up stairs to her room. She then slammed the door with all her might and dropped down to the floor as well.
