This song is for you..., chapter 1

Katie was laying on her bed on just another California day. Here she was, 25 years old, acting like a teenager. She stared up at the ceiling, listening to her iPod. She jumped up and started dancing around to Holiday. She liked to think of it as her very own music video. She attempted to dance like the girls in the video, which actually turned out well. When the song was over she plopped down on her bed again, and started listening to King for a Day. She paused it, and turned off her iPod. She looked out the window, the sun was shining so brightly, as always. She suddenly felt the need to go for a walk, and considering it was Oakland, there wasn't much of a need to worry about kidnappers or any of that nonsense. She stuffed her iPod into her pocket, just in case, and her cell phone. She re-applied her eyeliner and went down stairs. She grabbed her sunglasses of the kitchen counter, and opened the door and left. She started walking, not knowing where she would go. She went past a trash can, and noticed there was a magazine in it. She went over and pulled it out, on the cover was a picture of Billie Joe Armstrong and his wife, Adrienne. Such a cute couple, she thought to herself. She read the headline, 'Green Day's frontman getting a divorce from wife Adrienne?' Why would anyone even make this crap up?, she said to herself as she tossed the magazine back in the trash can. She continued walking, and decided it was a good time to listen to her iPod again. She put the headphones in her ears and turned it on. King for a Day was still on, of course, so she changed it. It was Hitchin' a Ride. She turned it up, and started to sing along. "Hey mister where ya headed, are you in a hurry? I need a lift to-" she looked down, and turned her iPod over. She pressed the button, and sure enough it was dead. That's when she realized, the singing was still going. She spun around to see where it was coming from, and there stood Billie Joe. Instantly her jaw dropped, and Billie Joe just laughed. She didn't know what to say to him. "Uh...uh...hi" she said to him, in awe.

"Hi, I noticed you were singing Hitchin' a Ride" he said to her with a smile.

"Oh, um, yeah it's an awesome song"

"Yeah, it is"

He just looked at her.

"So uh, what's your name?" he asked her.

"Katie, and I already know yours" she said with a smile. He smiled back, and just kept walking. Katie broke the silence.

"So uh, what were you doing, before?" she asked him. He glanced at her, and sighed.

"Well, I've been fighting with Adie, and I'm sick of hearing the same thing every day, and I guess I needed to clear my head" he replied. She just looked at him.

"Oh..." she said, opening her mouth to say something else, but she just didn't know what. She frowned when she looked at Billie Joe, he looked so sad. It must be hard on him, because he loves her so much. Out of nowhere, she wrapped her arms around him. He had a suprised look on his face, and she did too. She didn't know what came into her.

"Oh sorry" she said quickly as she pulled away. "I just thought you might need a hug" she said with a small smile.

"That's okay, thanks for caring" he said to her returning the smile, while they kept walking.

Katie looked around, she knew where they had walked to, the park. She hadn't been there lately, but she didn't have a problem with it. There was a bench nearby, so she pulled Billie Joe over and they sat down. They talked for a while, and the seemed to have, gotten really close... Katie felt like bringing Billie Joe to her house, afterall, she was getting tired, and it was getting dark.

"Hey Billie Joe, I was wondering if you wanted to go back to my place?" she asked him quietly.

"Sure, let's go" he answered as he stood up. He yawned and pulled Katie up. She smiled and the were off. Soon after a few minutes of walking, they were at Katie's house. They walked up the steps and she unlocked the door with the key she got under the door mat. She opened the door and they entered. Billie Joe went straight to the living room and plopped down on the couch. He sighed, and Katie laughed. She went in and sat down next to him. She laid back on the couch and he did the same. He got the sudden urge to kiss her, her eyes were a penetrating blue, and she was just so beautiful. He cupped her face in his hands, and softly kissed her. Next thing she knew, they were in her bed all sweaty, and panting. Wow, Katie thought to herself as she thought about their romp. She looked over at Billie Joe, and smiled. He was just laying there, his arm around her, smiling. She stared at him for a minute, and then spoke.

"Billie Joe, you're a married man, which makes this so wrong, but it feels so damn right" she said to him grinning devilishly.

"Well, this is our little secret, and a secret it will stay" he said to her as she rested her head in the crook of his neck. He jumped when his cell phone rang, and reached over to see who it was... Adrienne. Shit, he thought to himself as he flipped open the phone. He wasn't even thinking of her, and he let himself do this. Billie Joe was feeling a huge amount of guilt. He loved Adrienne with all his heart, and he goes and does this. He mentally kicked him self, and looked at Katie, who had fallen asleep.

"Hey Adie" he said to her flatly.

"Where are you!?" she screamed at him.

"Chill out, I'm at the studio, I decided to crash here last night, sorry I didn't tell you!" he yelled at her. He felt guilty lying to her, but he couldn't go telling her that he met some girl, went to her house, slept with her and was now laying in her bed.

"Whatever, and by the way, the boys have been wondering where the hell you are!" she yelled once more, and the line went dead. He sighed, and flipped his phone shut. He set it down on the night stand next to the bed and laid his head on the pillow. He had to go home, as much as he wanted to stay with Katie, he had to. He shook Katie's shoulder, and her eyes slowly opened. She groaned, and he just laughed. "Well aren't you the morning person" he said to her, smiling. She made him so happy, feel so good, like Adie used to do. He just looked at her, and frowned.

"I have to go, Adrienne wants me home, and the boys have been wondering where I am" he said to her sadly. "I'm sorry Katie, I really hope I get to see you again, I just... don't know when"

"Oh Billie Joe, it's okay, I knew you would have to go, and, well, I guess I was expecting it" she said slowly.

He just looked at her, not knowing what to say. He kissed her on the lips, one last time and she smiled. He got up and she did too, and they went downstairs. She gave him one last hug and opened the door for him.

"Bye Katie" Billie Joe said to her as he walked out the door and made his way down the driveway and down the side walk. He glanced back at her, not able to see the tears rolling down her face. Even though she had spent so little time with him, she felt like she had known him forever, and that, they... loved each other. She did love him, but, he probably didn't love her. "Bye Billie Joe Armstrong, it was fun while it lasted" she whispered as she closed the door. She went up stairs and laid on her bed...

And cried.
