When Alone.., chapter 3
"Go on..." said Mike, concerned for his friends confusion. This was so surreal.
"I guess it pretty much started when I was 4, My mom left and," Billie Joe started.
"You never told me?! Oh man..." Mike interrupted.
"Fuck it, I'm not explaining" mumbled Billie Joe, rising from the table.
"Don't" said Mike, "I'm sorry, go ahead"
"You wont understand" he promptly replied.
"Shut up and sit your ass down" said Mike.
Billie Joe sat back down, and began telling his story again slowly, "OK," he sighed, "I was like, 3 or 4 or whatever, and my parents left for groceries, and I went in her closet," Then it flowed. The adventures, the makeup, the close-calls with his father.
"Then one time, my mom went without Dad, cuz he had to work late," said Billie Joe. Mike knew what was coming,
"No! He caught you?!"
"Yeah... he was livid. He sat down and started talking to himself, no..." answered Billie Joe, "No, he was yelling to himself, asking what he'd done, then he started telling me I'd never be a real man" Billie Joe continued telling his best friend the story. About how his dad told his mom, and they put him with a child therapist,
"I quit the therapy when I started school," said Billie Joe, "But I didn't quit dressing up"
"Wow..." said Mike, sort of in a trance. This was not what he'd expected. He had expected Billie Joe to explain how he hadnt been hiding a dress, and Mike had imagined it all. He wouldve never guess that his best friend wore his own mother's clothing.
Billie Joe was in somewhat of a trance as well, then he snapped out of it,
"You're not telling anyone about this?" he half asked, half demanded. Mike snapped out of his trance as well, looking at his friend in utter disbelief,
"Your really think I'd do that to you?" said Mike, then stopped, he suddenly knew what Billie Joe was asking. Tre. Tre had no idea, he had thought Billie Joe was jerking off. Mike sucked at hiding things from his friends, there was no way...
Billie Joe walked towards his friend, they were both standing now,
"Your not going to tell him..." he said, "Are you?"
