Sign, chapter 5
Joey opened the again but before he close it Billie put his foot in the middle of the door to stop him from closing it. Billie walked inside of the house and looked around.
"Where's your Mom?" Billie asked with a stern look on his face.
"She doesn't wanna see you," said Joey.
"Well, I wanna see her," and Billie ran up the stairs.
There about two steps from him was the door to his and Adrienne's old bedroom, he recited the words he was going to say and walked in. Sitting on the edge of the bed was Adrienne. She looked even more beautiful then Billie had remembered. She slowly turned around.
Adrienne's eyes were red and wet and there was a tear falling down her cheek, she had been crying. "Hey what's wrong Adie?" asked Billie.
"Get away from me! Only my friends and people who love me can call me that," Adrienne snapped.
"Look I just wanna say I'm sorry and I would like to get some of my stuff back," Billie said.
"Well, sorry doesn't cut it and you can have your stuff back I was waiting for you to come so I could get all this crap out of my closet," Adrienne yelled.
"Then can I know why you were crying?" he asked
"OH YOU WANNA KNOW, YOU WANNA KNOW THIS IS WHAT YOU HAVE DONE TO ME AND NOW YOUR OWN SONS HATE YOU!" Adrienne screamed
This killed Billie, even though he new it was true. He grabbed his stuff and left. He yelled bye but no one said anything back.
He got in the car and cried. " What the hell is wrong with me, I fucked up!". But Billie decided to make one more stop before going home. A bar. He got so drunk that he had to ask him if he knew anyone to call. Billie mumbled Mike's number and in a flash Mike was there.
Over the next couple weeks this became a routine for Mike (get home, watch TV, go pick up Billie from the bar and then have a drunken depressed man in his guest bedroom) and Mike wasn't to happy. So he had two choices either kick Billie out or buy a car. Mike would never kick Billie out! They were like brothers! So Mike made up a third choice go talk to Billie.
Billie was lying on the couch with a cold cloth on his head for the night before. Mike was scared he was afraid Billie would hate him after.
"Hey Billie I need to talk to you about something."
