Troubled times brought me to you, chapter 2

A week had passed sense Adrienne's father had died and she hadn't gone to school sense the policemen had went there to bring her to the hospital. Adrienne woke up to her mother's voice " Adie honey I have something to tell you." Adrienne wasn't sure what her mother had to tell her but she had a feeling that it wasn't good. " What is it mom?" "We're moving to the United States of America." Adrienne couldn't believe what she just heard, she suddenly felt really angry that her mother would move her away from her friends and her life. "Mom we can't move I like it here! Why do we have to leave anyway?! " Adrienne was angry and sad at the same time " Because money is tight and I can't afford to live here anymore." Adrienne may have only been 10 but she understood that her parents didn't make a lot of money to start with and now with just her mother working there was even less money in their house. " What state in America?" Adrienne asked " Berkeley, California." All Adrienne could say was " Oh."

In Berkeley

"Someone bought the house next door." Said Ollie. " Really?" said Billie Joe he was just surprised because the house had been for sale for almost a year. " Do you know who bought it mom?" " Yes a woman from Spain bought it. She has a daughter your age." Billie Joe knew what his mom was hinting at. " Ok mom I'll be friends with her and show her around school and whatever." Billie Joe was still upset over his father's death so his attitude was bitter. " Billie you don't have to be friends with her just be nice to her and show her around school." "Whatever mom."
The next morning Billie Joe walked downstairs to get his breakfast before going to school he heard his mother talking to someone in the kitchen she had a Spanish accent and he knew that she must be the woman who bought the house next door to them. " Good morning Billie." Ollie smiled at her son "Billie Joe this is Isabelle Sanchez and her daughter Adrienne." When Billie Joe looked at Adrienne he almost choked on the orange juice he was drinking, he couldn't believe how beautiful she was. " Hi I'm Billie Joe." Billie Joe smiled and Adrienne smiled back. They walked out the door to see mike his girlfriend Rachel and then there was tre and his girlfriend Jennifer (Jena for short) "Hey Billie whose that?" Mike eyed her suspiciously. " Mike meet Adrienne, her parents bought the house next door to me." The look Mike was giving Adrienne turned into a friendly smile. "Hi I'm Tre Cool and this is my girlfriend Jennifer." Jena whacked Tre over the back of his head " OW! Jena what the fuck was that for?!" Jena gave Tre an you know damn well what you did look and Tre got a scared look on his face and said "Sorry Jena I just thought she should know that your birth name isn't Jena."Jena's angry look changed to a huge smile " I know that Tre, I was just playing with you."Tre smiled and Mike realized that he never introduced his girlfriend. "Oh and this is my girlfriend Rachel."Adrienne smiled and said "So um... when does school start?"Billie Joe realized that they would be late if they kept on talking and said "In like 5 minutes if we run."Adrienne frowned at him and he said with a smile " Well if you want to be late that 's ok we'll just have to sign in and it wouldn't be the first time we've signed Mrs. Fibbs book."Adrienne smiled and they walked to school and sure enough they were late.
"Class we have a new student. Her name is Adrienne Sanchez, she came here all the way from Spain! So please make her feel welcome to Tamarac." Adrienne noticed that some kids where looking at her so she just gave them a dirty look and didn't care what they thought, mainly because all the kids in her class where preps except for Billie Joe, Mike, Tre, Jena and Rachel who where punk. Adrienne found the math lesson that Mr. Parks was teaching very boring and sense she was seated next to the window she decided to stare out at the soccer field that younger kids were using to play some type of tag game in gym. Adrienne was thinking about her father and her friends that she had left behind in Spain when all of the sudden. "ADRIENNE PAY ATTENTION!"Adrienne quickly turned her head to the front of the room so she wouldn't get yelled at again. " Adrienne do I have to move you to a new seat?"Adrienne didn't feel like sitting with the preps so she said " No"and Mr. Parks response was."I 'll give you a break because you're new but only for a week."Then he returned to the front of the room to continue with the lesson.
"Wow Mr. Parks doesn't like you either."Adrienne couldn't understand why Billie Joe had said that.
"Why does he hate you guys too?"
"Yup he hates all punks." Tre said.
"Oh."
