Human Medicine, chapter 2
It turns out not a lot had changed. Tre had left the house he shared with his e-wife and child, and was now looking or his 'soul mate' as he said. Mike was in similar stead, although he had found someone already, Natalie, and they were apparently very much in love.
At 1am all three guys fell asleep. Tre and Mike asleep on the 2 seater couch, Tre resting his head on Mike's shoulder, and Billie Joe on the armchair, sprawled over the armrests, although quite comfortable.
No-one woke until the phone rang early in the morning. Billie yawned and rolled off the armchair to crawl on all fours to the phone before picking it up and sitting with his back to the receiver.
"Hello?" he said in a sleepy tone.
Tre sat up and rubbed his eyes, Mike remained asleep.
"Mr Armstrong, is Jakob coming in today?" It was the day care centre.
"Oh, Yeah, sorry, we will be there in half n hour" Billie said focusing on the wall clock, it was 9.10am.
"Okay, see you then," said the cheery female.
Billie Joe put the phone down and grabbed his jacket.
"Hey guys, I'm taking Jakob to the day care centre, wanna come? Better get some food to if you guys are staying."
"Uh, yeah MIKE! Wake up" Tre nudged his best friend.
"I'm up, I'm up" Mike said.
"Jakob you ok?"
"Daddy?" he replied.
"Yep, come on you're going to see James today." Suddenly Jakob was awake and excited about meeting the 12 year old boy that was the coolest friend any boy could have.
The three stumbled from Billie's house, Billie himself only stumbled under the weight of his son. Tre and Mike were so hung over, it was impossible for them to walk straight.
The journey to the day care centre was a long one and it wasn't long before Tre and Mike were asleep.

"This is the place." Suzie said turning the ignition to her mini cooper turning to her passenger.
"Wow, it's huge," Jem stated as she looked up at the massive peach coloured villa . AS Suzie led her up to the house, Jem simply tried to process information, she was going to be Billie Joe Armstrong's babysitter, and here she was in Los Angeles, with Green Day's agent Suzie Cooper.
"Now I have to rush off, he's out just now but I imagine he will be back soon, will you be ok?" Suzie said to Jem with a kind smile.
"uh yea, yea I'll be fine," Jem replied walking in the house and receiving keys from Suzie, before she turned away to leave.
Jem closed the door to the villa and clutched the handle to her suitcase in one hand and the keys to Billie Joe's house in the other, she turned around gasping at the sheer size of the house. She marvelled at the huge staircase before walking up it. She looked around at the many closed doors before she found a spare room with plain lilac walls, a window, bed, desk and cupboard.
"perfect" she stated as she placed the keys on the desk and the suitcase on the bed. Slowly Jem began to unpack, putting clothes away into the wardrobe.

"Aw" Billie Joe thought as he looked in the very back seat of his S.U.V to see his two best friends fast asleep, their heads back, mouths open slightly. He decided to leave them sleeping and that meant skipping food shopping. "I'll do it later" he thought as he drove into his private driveway.
He left Tre and Mike asleep as he unlocked his house and headed inside. However, he froze as he stood in the hallway. He heard 'Church on Sunday' coming from upstairs. Cautiously he climbed the stairs and followed his music to a closed door. The door to the spare room.
"Babysitter" Billie breathed, not realizing he was holding his breath.
He knocked on the door and the music was instantly stifled.
"come in" a female voice called.
Billie Joe opened the door and leaned on the doorpost looking his employee up and down. His jaw dropped as Jem turned to face the door. His eyes studied the pin-straight blonde hair, the dark brown eyes, black green day t-shirt and black trousers. He smiled.

Jem heard a knock on her door and reached for the volume button on her much loved little stereo before calling to the door. She turned away from her window to see the man himself leaning on the doorpost of her room. Her eyes travelled across his brown hair, that was ungelled and messy, his dull green eyes, slight stubble, grey sweater and blue jeans. She looked back up to his face and saw a smile on his lips.
