I Can't Wait For The Day, chapter 6
[Billie's POV]
I wake up, it's too early.
The dream.
It was there. Again. But this time it was different.
Running, Jumping, flying... Falling. But this time I didn't fall. Well, I started to. I was falling, but Judy grabbed onto me and we could fly again. She was an angel. I don't know what that's supposed to mean, it confused the hell out of me.
I grab a pen and paper and I write.
[Judy's POV]
It's 7:45 and I'm walking to school. I want to get there early so that I can finish my math homework. I'm about two blocks away when I hear someone calling to me.
"Hey, bitch,"
I turn to see Ashlee LaVine behind me, about ten yards away. Shit. She's the anorexic looking one, you know who I'm talking about. She's standing there with her boyfriend.
She whispers something in his ear and he walks over to me and punches me in the stomach, hard enough to leave a nice big bruise there. Ow. I fall over backwards and land on the hard concrete, scraping my elbow. It starts to bleed. Still, I manage to give Ashlee's boyfriend a nice little glare and make the sound of a whip cracking. Wh-ch! Ha, he was sooo whipped. Uh oh, that was a bad idea.
He stomps hard on my stomach. I roll onto my side and cough up a fair amount of blood. Yup, that was gonna hurt tomorrow. It hurt quite a bit today, too.
"Hey, leave her the fuck alone!" A familiar voice calls from a bit away. I turn to see who the voice belongs to and I see Billie, my rescuer.
"Hey bitch, is that your boyfriend? Pretty ugly, I must say, but then again, you never had much taste."
I manage to get up and kick her in the shin, then I run as best I can over to Billie. We walk the rest of the way to school together. When we get there we walk to the girl's bathroom and Billie starts cleaning up my elbow. Girls keep giving him strange looks because he's in the girl's bathroom, but he doesn't notice.
[Billie's POV]
I start to clean the blood off of Judy's face. She has a pained expression on her face. Not like when she smiles. I love her smile. And her eyes. She has beautiful brown eyes. The expression on her face stays pained but now she looks as if she's slightly disgusted, slightly amused by something. Hm. What could that be? What's so funny and disgusting that-
Shit.
I run into the nearest stall.
Come on, I thought. Old people. Disease. Grandma. Come on, something, just make it go away!
It goes away. Phew.
I come out of the stall trying to act like nothing happened. Gotta talk about something... Uh... Music.
"So, are you coming to see me sing and play guitar like a pro tonight? Oh and Mike and our friend John play instruments too..."
She laughs. "Sure, I'll be there."
"Come to Gilman at 8:00, it'll be great."
This is going to work. I know it will.
