No Title, chapter 1

In a parallel world next to that of which Zeus and the other known gods and goddesses inhabited, lived the almighty Treus. Similar to how Zeus lives high on Mount Olympus, Treus lives high on the top of Mount Greenus.

One day, one of Treus's many sons, Billacles, grew bored and had an idea for a new and wonderful instrument to play beautiful music on. Billacles went out and found the most spectacular tree he could find and chopped it down. He then cut the wood into an interesting shape. At the top it had a long skinny neck that ran down into a fatter section that was rounded at the bottom. He then cut a large circular hole into the larger area of the wood but did not cut all the way through. Billacles then stretched six very long and thin metal pieces from the top of the wood to the bottom, crossing over the hole. He then took a small chip of wood and gently struck the metal with it. Billacles soon found that if he held the metal in different places as he struck them he could create different sounds.
Some of the heroes and gods heard Billacles playing, and soon he had flocks of gods, goddesses, and heroes following him around to hear him play his amasing new instrument.

Mikeilles was intrigued by Billacles's playing that he too wanted to create his own instrument. Mikeilles travelled until he came among a tree he found worthy enough of becoming his instrument. He chopped the tree down and cut it into a similar shape as Billacles's instrument. But, Mikeilles made a few alterations to it. He made the neck slightly longer and cut the hole in the middle bigger. He also stretched metal along the instrument, but they were thicker and he only placed four of them on. As Mikeilles tested out his newly made instrument he found that it made much deeper sounds than Billacles's instrument. He began his own shows that the gods, goddesses, and heroes would go to listen to his great performances.

Treus watched all this from high above on Mount Greenus. He figured that if both Billacles and Mikeilles could attract so many to their shows seperatly, that if they played together they would double the attendance. So Treus called upon Billacles and Mikeilles and decreed that they play their instruments together to attract a higher audience rate.

Treus watched once again as the newly formed duo played their shows. They indeed got double attendance, but Treus was still not satisfied, he figured something was missing. As he pondered an idea he began tapping his fingers on things around him. As Treus realized what he was doing, an idea popped into his head.

"That's it! That's what's missing!" he cried out.

Treus ran around finding things that would help create his instrument. He shaped metal into circular cases and covered the open ends with sheep skin. He made three of these, one slightly larger than the other two. He also made one more metal casing but used a lot harder and thicker sheep skin. Treus then made circular metal pieces and attached them to the top of large, thin metal posts. To test out his new instrument, Treus grabbed two wooden sticks and began beating the metal and sheepskin; he soon created amazing rhythms and beats.
Now the newly formed trio played their instruments with extreme talent. Their music seemed to bless the ears that heard its beautiful sound. They played for large crowds that went wild for the music. Still to this day they play their harmonious instruments for all ears everywhere.
