An Everlasting Friendship And Undying Love, chapter 4
"WHAT?!"
"Do you like Kati?"
"What the fuck? What kind of question is THAT?!"
"Uhh... a very simple one?"
"Of course NOT! I hate that... that bitch!"
"Oh come ON, Billie Joe! Lots of jocks and punks have fallen for her and are still falling! How can you not?"
"Because I don't! What? You do?!"
"No. I just want to get to know her better without you making the scene into a fight!"
"Meh. Well, I hate her."
"And just WHY do you hate her?"
"Because... because... " Billie went silent and looked at his bedroom floor. "I don't know."
"Well, that explains it!"
"Huh?"
"You do like her!"
"Do not!"
"Don't argue with me, BJ! Tre and I have observed this for a long time!"
"Meh! I am committed to Suzanne!"
"Billie Joe! Wake up! It has been four year's! Do you think she remembers you?"
Billie went silent. He looked out the window and into the night sky. The stars shone brightly as they twinkled in Billie's green eyes. The sky looked just like that very day... The day Suzanne left him...
***Billie's flash back***
=Four years ago=
"I'm moving."
"What? What do you mean by 'I'm moving'? "
Billie and Suzanne sat in a cozy little corner of their favorite malt shop. Even when it was eleven the place was still quite crowded. The night sky was filled with stars as the moon light beamed onto the empty streets.
"Exactly what it means, Billie Joe."
"But, Sue... You have only been here for six months."
"I know that. Billie Joe. I know that very well."
"Then?! Are you leaving me?!"
"Billie Joe, I will be leaving everyone. Not only you Billie Joe."
"You're leaving me? But... But you promised you wouldn't... "
"Billie Joe, It's time to let go. I don't want this relationship to go any further. We're young. And I want to leave my life as a punk behind me and start over."
"This isn't like you, Suzanne. I thought you like being a punk and all-"
"Well, your wrong, Billie Joe Armstrong. I hated it. I was getting sick of everything you did, the way you look, the way I look, the way I was acting and being treated. My parents were the ones who threw me the idea and I accepted. Just as well, mom and dad got a new job elsewhere. As lawyers it's their job to travel."
"Sue... I don't believe what I'm hearing... "
"Well you better believe it! The change of hair, style and place of living... Now this!" Suzanne took off the necklace Billie gave her as a present during her birthday to confirm their relationship. She threw it at Billie and walked away. But before she completely walked out of Billie's life she whispered in his ear:
"Consider this our last conversation, Armstrong. And whatever happened a few minutes ago concludes the end of our relationship."
Suzanne left Billie Joe in the malt shop. Shocked and sad about what just happened. Billie couldn't move. He shed a tear as he felt himself crumble inside. As Billie walked home in sorrow, he pulled Suzanne's necklace out of his pocket. He griped it tightly and cringed as he sobbed under a tree.
'Suzanne... Suzanne... Suzanne... Suzanne... '
"BILLE! WAKE UP YOU ASS!"
Billie snapped back into reality. "What? What? What?"
"You dozed off when I was talking to you!"
"Oh... I did? Sorry, Mike. I'm just really tired... "
"Ahh... never mind then. Good night."
Mike walked out Billie's room and closed the door lightly. A tear formed in Billie's green eyes. Billie pulled out a shoebox from underneath his bed. Billie opened the box as his tears ran down his cheeks. The box was filled with pictures of himself and Suzanne
"Suzanne... " Billie pulled out a necklace. A small little rose pendant was dangling from the silver string. It shone and twinkled... just like the stars at night... "Suzanne... " Billie fell back onto his pillow and cried silently with the necklace in hand.
"Do you like Kati?"
