A Bittersweet Birthday, chapter 2

Tre Cool and Billie Joe Armstrong were looking down upon her, laughing their asses off and trying, only half-heartedly, to apologize. "S-s-sorry," Billie Joe gasped through fits of laughter, "got a little carried away. Are you alright?" Valmina was shocked "Yeah, I'm fine." she responded. "Hey," Tre exclaimed, almost doubled up in laughter, "I can see down your shirt!" This earned him a punch from Billie Joe, who whispered, "C'mon man, we just shattered a TV on her balcony, leave her alone." Valmina turned to leave, shocked beyond belief, when she heard Tre's voice calling after her, saying, "Hey, did the tape smash? Could you get it out for me?" And by the time she was closing the balcony door she heard him exclaim, "Shit, that was our best porn!" Not knowing whether to laugh or faint, Valmina decided on turning in for the night. She was too shocked to do anything but sleep. In fact, she had the faint idea that she already was sleeping, and that all of this had been a weird dream. Yeah, she had heard about them throwing a TV out of their hotel before, it probably was a dream that reflected those thoughts. Not nearly convinced, and not really wanting to be, Valmina turned off the lights and slipped into bed. She lay there in deep thought for about an hour or so, until she dropped off into a deep and dream-filled slumber.

She dreamed that Tre was watching porn off of her balcony like a projector, while Billie Joe was cleaning up a shattered TV with a janitor's broom. While all of this was happening, Valmina was in a corner, trying her best to cover the top that just didn't want to cover her chest.
Then, all of a sudden, the dream changed.
She was sitting up against a door in a dark room, bruised and bloody, while somebody on the other side was screaming and threatening her, demanding to be let in. She recognized the voice at once, and it filled her heart with a terror that it shook her body, and, ultimately, woke her up.

She turned around in her bed to check the bright red numbers on the alarm clock. 6:37 am. "Shit," she thought, "it's too damn early." But the fear of the terrifying dream returning to her was enough to keep her from falling back asleep. She got up and headed for the bathroom. Brushing her teeth and doing her hair, she thought about the night before. She was still in shock. How could she, of all people, be lucky enough to have a room right underneath Green Day's? Then she started looking at it logically. "Well of coarse," she thought to herself, "they're playing a show today, and this is one of the nicest hotels close to the arena, it's only predictable that they'd be staying here." But still, she couldn't believe her luck. Pulling on her clothes, she wondered whether or not to tell Therese and Camiola. Still undecided, she left the room to go find something to eat. As she stepped into the elevator, she heard footseps behind her. Turning around in the small space that was given, she saw another unbelievable face. Mike Dirnt stepped into the elevator, humming to himself and obviously oblivious to the fact that she was there. That was an easy mistake to make, though, as she blended so well with the black backround and decided to slink into the corner.

She watched him for a while, and her eyes widened in shock as he turned around to look at her for the first time. Unable to really see her face, he settled on saying, "Hello" politely, and held out his hand for her, "I'm Mike Dirnt." She straightened up and moved to grab his hand. "Hi. I'm Valmina Fleischer. Nice to meet you." She pushed her hair out of her face, and this simple act finally gave him a view of her features. He stopped. He couldn't move, he couldn't blink, he couldn't even breathe. He was dumbstruck. A few minutes later the bell in the elevator rang, and Mike snapped out of his trance. He was surprised to see that she looked very uncomfortable. "Um, I gotta go, this is my floor." she mumbled. It was then that he realized that he was still holding her hand and had been the entire time. Blushing slightly, he watched as she stepped into the main floor of the hotel, in search of some food. "That's odd" he thought. "I'm blushing?" He stood there, trying to remember what he went into the elevator for in the first place. When he admitted that he had forgotten completely, he pushed the '17' button, deciding to go back to his room.

A few hours later, Therese was sleeping soundly in her room, when she was woken by a light shake. She opened her eyes to see Camiola, sitting on the side of her bed and carrying a tray of what looked like breakfast. "Mmm..food" she mumbled, while she threw the covers of of herself. "Yes," Camiola replied, "I brought you some breakfast, now hurry up and eat." Therese raised an eyebrow, "Why in such a rush?" she questioned. Camiola gave her a look that was both shocked and shameful. "Maybe," she began, slowly, quietly, and very dangerously, "it's because one of your best friend's birthday is today." She said, glaring at Therese. "Oh yeah," she said, "kinda forgot for a second. So what're we gonna do for her so early?" With a satisfied grin on her face, Camiola replied, "We're going to show her the special present we got her." "And what exactly did 'we' get her?" Therese questioned, eyebrows raised. "'We' got her backstage passes to the Green Day show." Camiola stated, grinning widely. It took all of Therese's self control not to scream and jump around like a crazed teenie. "Wow" she managed to say. "So, can we go give them to her now?" Camiola laughed. She said, "you haven't even eated yet!" "Oh, yeah," Therese replied, "forgot my hunger for a second there."
