The Story of My Life (but not as you know it), chapter 1
The crimson walls closed in, suffocating me mentally. I burst through a set of doors to find what I wished hadn't been there. It was another long room filled with long, thin white tubes and pipes that snaked along the ceiling. One of the pipes led to the exit. One held the key to my safety. The walls where lined with different doors. Some as tall as a skyscraper, others were so small you couldn't fit a CD through them. The one I was looking for had to be a certain size, a certain width and a certain thickness. Many of them looked right but the snaking pipes would tell me which one to go through. The floor growled below my feet. I looked down. Shit! I was standing on a steal grid. The floor was made out of them. Claws and long, bony fingers grabbed at my legs, pulling me down. The creatures were awake. That meant 'they' weren't far behind. If only I could find him, he would save me from my tormentors.
"Daed si ehs litnu pots ton od!" A voice boomed out. I looked up and there they were. Two shadowy figures were staring at me from the top of a thick pipe. I could only see their eyes, glowing with a vibrant hatred. I knew they were two men. One was tall and skinny, the other was shorter but the obvious leader. A flood of fear ran through my veins as they leaped down 20 feet without injuring themselves. I ran for it. I didn't care where I was going. The claws grabbed at my feet, ripping my shoes to shreds and tripping me up. I shook them off and continued running. A hand grabbed my ankle and pulled me down. I saw what was in the grates. A figure crept out of the shadows. Half of its head was missing and blood oozed out, leaving a slippery trail. Its arms were like sticks, clutching at thin air, trying to get me. Instead of hands it had a mechanical claw, draped in strips of rotting flesh. Its legs were not its own. A chunky scar ran around its middle. Infectious pus seeped out of its botched operation. Tiny insects ran, constantly, around its middle, eating and living off the pus. The thing that had grabbed my ankle turned me round so I was staring upwards at the pipes and my attackers. They walked slowly towards me as more claws and fingers pinned me down. The slim one bent down and felt along my collar bone, licking my sweat off his fingers. He was so close but I still couldn't see who he was.
"Deifirtep ylurt." He said to his comrade. The other man laughed and patted his accomplice on the back.
"Rednet erom. Yaw taht retteb er'yeht. Doog." The short one smiled. His teeth were brilliant white and sparked slightly.
"!Ees ll'ouy gniht tsal eht er'yeht llew, meht ekil ouy." The short one bellowed, pulling a green handgun from his jeans. The gun was the same colour as his eyes. He pointed at my head. I closed my eyes. He stalled.
"Ydaerla ti od. Rof gnitiaw neeb ev'ew tahw si siht." The tall one said, encouraging his partner. The short one still stalled. Every muscle in my body tensed. You have me at your mercy, just kill me already. Quit stalling I thought. I opened my eyes a crack. The short one was frozen in his position, staring ahead. The tall on followed his gaze. I tried but my head was stuck. The claws started tearing at my back, ripping through my skin and taking it off in large chunks. I could hear them salivating and munching away at me. I was a three coarse meal! A bright light flooded the room. It didn't affect me. The two men were thrown into light and they didn't like it. The short one snapped out of his state and shot me, off target, before running off to find shadow. The bullet imbedded in my shoulder, exploded, sending shards of metal, bone and muscle flying. I screamed in pain as my blood with licked up by the creatures below. I felt weaker and weaker as the seconds ticked past, felling like hours. I blinked and a man was standing above me. The light was at it's strongest around him. He bent down and stared into my eyes. I tried to keep my eyes open but it was impossible, I had lost too much blood. He grabbed my head and pulled it of the grid, his blue eyes swallowing me up. His spiky, brown hair reminded me of someone. I desperately tried to think who; I didn't want to die thinking. The creatures clutched at my, now visible, spine, pulling me through the grid and out of the man's arms. I landed with a thump, on the hard concrete floor, surrounded by different creatures (they may have been human but they didn't look it). They started tearing at me. I'd lost all feeling. My sight went and I was plunged into darkness, dieing to the sound of me being eaten.
I bolted upright, my face covered in sweat. I panted heavily. My throat was sore and I badly needed to scratch my arms but I couldn't. My arms were tied up in my strap jacket. I looked around. I was still in my padded cell. I backed up into a corner so I could watch everyone that walked passed my door. I rested my head on the spongy wall and I drifted back to sleep, a sleep filled with nightmares and horrors I can't describe, you'll be too scared.
