Basket Case, chapter 9
I ran until I reached the parking lot. I looked for Billie's BMW and found it pretty quick.
"Damn it!" I cried as I tried to open it but it was locked. I looked around for a wire of some sort and found a broken car antenna. Then I pulled out one of it's little wires and started to pick the lock. I sat down and adjusted the mirror. I had no clue what I was doing and all I knew was that I had to get out of there.
As I hot-wired the car I could see Billie, Tre, El, and Mike running down the hill.
"What are you doing?!?" Billie yelled as they reached the car. I locked the doors and started to backout as Mike and Billie scrambled for the keys and while El and Tre tried to stop the car. All their attempts failed and they had no choice but to watch me drive away.
At home...
I pulled into the drive way and got out. I walked up to the door and had to pick the lock since I'd left all my stuff at the beach. As I walked in I, for some odd reason that I don't know, picked up trash. (Like I said I don't know why. I guess I just felt like it). I went upstairs to my room and shut the door behind me. Then I walked over to the mirror and looked at it. It was hard to see my own face but I looked past those cruel words as best I could and actually didn't see me.
"Damn." I muttered. My face had a red hand mark on it and it stung like hell. My black eye liner and mascara had bled down my fair skin. (I could never get a tan. It was like humanly impossible for me to. The funny thing is, I do tan fairly easily. Anyways... ). I ran my hand gently down my cheek as I tried to think of what I reminded myself of. My hair was a huge mess. (By the way, my hair is going to be a fiery red color. If you've ever seen HP it's the same color of Ron's).
"I know." I said to myself. To me I looked like a small scared and lost puppy in a crowd of strangers that had been kicked to much. My eyes had turned a deep green. (Next parts a true fact). My eyes do that. They're usually a blue-gray color but when I get angry they turn hazel and when I'm sad they're an enchanting green color.
"That's exactly what I look like." I told myself.
I backed away from the mirror and sat on my bed. I couldn't look at myself. I went downstairs grabbed a trash bag and went back up into my room and started to clean.
Tre's POV ... Back at a beach bus stop
"Damn it! Damn it! Damn it!" I yelled as I slapped myself.
"Tre, cool down." El said slapping me really hard across the face.
"Don't tell me to cool down!" I yelled," How can I cool down when I acted like such an ass?!" Billie had told me how Jimie was crying and how he was trying to comfort a friend in need of comforting.
"You weren't an ass." Mike said patting me on the back.
"Yeah. You were being a motherfucking dick head, asshole." El said trying to help but not doing very well.
"Thanks, El." Billie said pushing El back," Hey, man. It's okay."
"How can you say it's okay?!" I asked," What if she meant it?!"
"Meant what?" Mike asked confused.
"Meant that she..." I trailed off," Never mind." Reality had just come in for it's landing and crashed. She actually said it... She actually said she... She... Hates me...
"Hey, man, I'm sorry." Mike said.
"Sorry for what?" I asked. I was deep in thought and didn't notice that Billie had told him.
"Sorry that she said... You know..." Mike trailed off as he looked away, probably trying to find away to change the subject without me noticing.
"No I don't know." I lied. I wanted to make sure it was true.
"That she..." He just couldn't bring himself to say it.
"That she what?! Mike, damn it!," I yelled," That she hates me?! Is that it?! Tell me you motherfucker!"
"Yeah..." Mike said looking down at his feet," You know what though?"
"What, Mike?!" I yelled trying to cool down.
"I can see why she hates you." And with that he walked away.
"Yeah! Same here!" El agreed," You motherfucking asshole!" She followed Mike. I noticed Billie was still here.
"Billie?"
"Yeah?"
"Thanks."
"For what?"
"For staying"
"Hell, someone had to stay with you. Just 'cause I did doesn't mean I'm agreeing with you." He said. Ouch, that hurt. I thought Mike was on my side but I was wrong. Billie, well, I thought I could trust him to agree with me but... You saw how that turned out.
At the house... Normal POV
"There." I said as I put the last Chuckie into the closet. (Chuckie is another name for Converse High-tops). My room was now somewhat what it looked like. The only things missing were my posters and my...
"Oh, God..." I whispered under my breath. My guitars. I'd been so wrapped up in what happened to remember.
Anyone here?!" I heard El yell from downstairs. Aw, fuck, I thought, I don't want to see anyone. I heard foot steps coming upstairs so I ran to close the door but accidentally slammed it.
"Oh, fuck! I had to slam the door, huh!" I whispered.
"Come on. She's in her room." I heard El whisper to someone. Holy Hell! I yelled in my head. I opened my window and climbed out onto the roof. I held my breath as I climbed next to the window. I felt like that Neo guy in the Matrix. You know, how he's running away from the big baddies and gets trapped out side a window and they catch him. (That's the only part form the Matrix that I've ever seen).
"I don't think she's in here." El said.
"Maybe she went into Hallie's room." The second voice belonged to Mike and He said that kinda louder than necessary.
El' POV
"I don't think she's in here." I said after telling Mike a plan.
"Maybe she went into Hallie's room." He said really obviously. Our plan was to pretend to leave and then really hide somewhere and when Jimie came in we'd jump her. Besides I knew she was on the roof. She left the beach sad so she'd of coarse be on the roof 'cause she doesn't want to speak to anyone but I want to talk to her. So to hell with her not wanting to talk.
"Let's go check." I said. Then we stomped our feet and I shut the door carelessly. Mike hid behind the closet door and I hid behind the dresser next to the window.
Normal POV
I stuck my head in and searched the room with my eyes. I didn't see them so I put one arm in.
El's POV
Come on, I thought, We left. Don't worry...
Normal POV
I put my other arm in. Then I put in a leg...
El's POV
One more leg!
Mike's POV
I'm hungry.
Normal POV
I'm in, I thought. I quietly turned around and closed the window. When I turned back around...
