Blue Crush Is Our Name...And Don't You Fucking Wear It Out, chapter 2
Saturday, December 8th (day of Blue Crush's gig)
"Happy Birthday Tre!" said Billie, Mike and Jason
"Aww thanks guys! Can you remind me why we came here again?" asked Tre.
"There's a kick ass band that's playing at Club Pheonix tonight that Rob Cavallo told me about. They're called Blue Crush, and if they're any good, I'm going to offer them a record deal." answered Billie.
"OK... I'll come.. But only if I can get piss ass drunk." said Tre.
"Ok fine Tre, it is your birthday after all." said Mike.
Backstage at Club Pheonix, 8pm
"Damn, this is gonna be a kickass show!" said Ian.
"I know! I heard there's gonna be some label executives in the audience. So we better play well" I said.
We decided to play a few of our own songs, like "My World" and "Bush Needs To Burn". We're also gonna play 5 cover songs:
"Who Are You" by The Who
"Going To Pasalaqua" by Green Day
"Anarchy In The U. K" by The Sex Pistols
"Teenage Labotomy" by The Ramones
"Rudie Can't Fail" by The Clash
"Ok guys, let's start soundcheck right after I tune my bass" I said.
"Ok" they all said.
"1 2 3 4" Ian yelled
We dove right into "My World". We played through our whole set, and before we knew it, the stage manager came to tell us we were on in 5 minutes.
"Ok guys, play your hardest and just be really energetic, because if there are label execs out there, they look for the crowd's reaction to what we do." I said.
"Everyone put your hands in the middle" said Kelsey.
"1 2 3 KICK ASS!" we all yelled.
"Ok Blue Crush, you're on" said the stage manager.
"All right guys! Hey Ho Let's Go!" I yelled, quoting The Ramones song.
"HELLO LONDON! HOW THE HELL ARE YA?" I yelled into the mic.
Cheers erupted from the crowd. I looked around and I couldn't believe who I saw.
I thought I was dreaming, but sure enough, there was Green Day sitting at the bar drinking Cheeches.
"Holy shit" I thought to myself.
I don't think Kelsey, Jaymie or Ian saw them though because they continued on by telling the crowd what we're going to play.
"OK LONDON! We're gonna start with two of our own songs: My World and Bush Needs To Burn!" yelled Kelsey into the mic.
Back at the bar, Billie was thinking.
"I like this band already" he thought to himself.
