"Fuck!" I exclaimed, dropping the knife and shoving my finger in my mouth.

"What did you do?" Erin inquired, as she walked into the kitchen.

"I kot ny futner."

"What?"

"I kawt mi fungir!"

"Still can't understand what you're saying," she said.

I quickly pulled my finger out of my mouth, "I cut my fucking finger! Dammit!"

"Woah...somebody ate too many bitch flakes for breakfast. Just calm down..."

"Ugh..."

"Sit down," Erin grabbed a piece of paper towel and wet it with warm water while I sat down.

"They invented a little sticky thing called the bandaid, you know," I commented, as Erin wrapped the towel around my finger.

"Gimme a second! Gosh...doing this will keep your cut clean," she retorted, "I used to do this when I...well, you know."

I sighed, "Yeah. I remember that."

"A bunch of people remember that, Bri."

"Do you still...do it?" I asked.

"Cut?" Erin answered, "Hell no."

Knock, knock

"No one's home!" Erin hollered.

"We need money! Be nice and buy some Girl Scout cookies!" A screechy voice replied.

"Those cookies suck!" She retorted.

"Just answer the gosh dang door, Erin," I said.

"Ugh," she sighed in frustration as she got up to answer the door, "Maybe it's my long lost lover." She looked through the peep hole.

"You wish," I smirked.

Erin opened the door, "Oh my gosh! It is!"

"It is what?" Came Tre's voice.

"Nothing..." she mumbled like a five-year-old.

"Anyway..." Tre continued, "Mikey! Can I borrow your roomie for a day?!"

"Yeah!" I answered, "Just don't bring her back!"

"Agh! I'm feeling the love here--"

"Okay! Thank you!" Tre exclaimed, dragging Erin out the door.

"You're welcome," I muttered with a grin.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

"To a place," Tre answered.

"And where's that?"

"In California."

I sighed and rolled my eyes, banging my head against the passenger seat.

"You sigh a lot," Tre commented.

"Thanks for pointing that out," I looked at him.

"Anytime, babe," he replied, turning a corner.

"What'd you just call me?" I inquired.

"Why, what are you talking about?"

"Never mind," I sighed again.

"You si--"

"Don't. Say. A word," I glared at Tre.

"Heh," I chuckled, "You know, they make the perfect couple."

"You are very right," Mike said on the other end.

"I'm always right."

"No," he replied unsure, "Adrienne's always right."

"What-the-fuck-ever," I muttered, "But I am right about Tre and Erin."

"Yep. The perfect couple. They have a lot in common. They both love playing pranks on old people and they're always giddy--"

"Mike," I started, "What's the real reason why you called me?"

"Uh...oh. I...I wanted to a-apologize for that...that--"

"Kiss?"

"Yes..." he mumbled.

"There's nothing to be sorry about," I reassured him, "You were drunk."

"But...that's the thing," Mike continued, "It wasn't a side effect of drinking...I...I like you, Briana."

"We're here," Tre said, pulling into a parking lot.

"We're at a park...?"

"Yeah," he answered, "A walk would do us good."

"You mean it would do you good," I corrected him.

Tre gasped, "I'm so offended..."

"Build a bridge," I stated, "and get over it."

"Okay!" He exclaimed with enthusiasm.

I smirked as I got out of the car. Tre did the same. We both stepped onto the sidewalk and began walking together.

"So how has everyone been?" I asked, trying to start up conversation.

"Billie and Adie are okay. Mike's been worrying about that kiss. And I'm..." Tre paused, "sexy. As always."

"Mmhm," I chuckled.

"Did you just agree with me?"

"Find out for yourself," I nudged him.

"Hey!--"

"Hi."

"No getting physical with a man my age!" Tre retorted.

"Oh, so you are saying you're old," I replied.

"No!" He pushed me back slightly.

"What happened to not getting physical?" I inquired.

"I lied."

"Ooo...not a good answer," I shoved Tre off to the side.

"Not--ow!--nice!" He hollered, stomping back over to me.

Tre grabbed me by the waist and dragged me over onto the grass.

"Let...me...go!" I shrieked in between gasps and laughter.

"Okay," he removed him arms from my waist in a swift motion and I dropped to the ground.

"Ow, my ass..." I mumbled.

Tre got one of those nervous expressions on his face, "Sorry!"

He grabbed my arm and pulled me to my feet.

I brushed myself off and looked up to meet Tre's gaze.

"Your eyes are green," he said.

"I know--"

"They remind me of Billie Joe's."

"That's nice--"

"Only your's are more beautiful."

I felt my cheeks grow red. We still hadn't broken our gaze.

"You don't have to be embarassed," Tre commented, "There's nothing to be embarassed about."

I didn't say anything.

"You don't have to say anything, either," he said before leaning in slowly and kissing me softly on the lips.
