Kiss the Demons out of my Dreams, chapter 14
I woke up, gasping for breath. My whole body was covered in a cold sweat. I had dreamed that my father killed Billie Joe, then me. I was so angry, I started to cry. I felt something move behind me, and I screamed. "what the fuck," Billie muttered. "Jesus! Oh, Billie! You're alive! I thought I lost you," I cried, wrapping my arms around his neck and burying my head in his chest. I don't think I had ever cried so much. "It's okay. I'm okay. Of course I'm alive. Don't worry, I'm right here," Billie whispered soothing words to me. "Billie, my father, he...he killed you. I thought I lost you. Then he killed me. Oh, Billie," I sobbed. He held me close, and in time, fright turned to rage. Once Billie fell asleep, promising to keep me safe, I got out of bed. I got dressed and quietly slipped downstairs. Going into the kitchen, I grabbed a knife, testing its sharpness on my thumb. Then, quietly, I went out to Billie's car. Before getting in though, I went back into the house. Grabbing a pen and paper, I thought for a few minutes about what I should say. Then, hastily, I scrawled a quick note:
"-Billie Joe, I can't stay here any more. These dreams that torment me, they're because I'm where they all happened. The only way to get rid of them is if i leave, even if it means leaving you. I love you and always will. Don't wait for me. Goodbye.
-Love, Carrie"
By now, tears were dripping onto the paper. I wiped my face and put the note on the counter where Billie would find it. Then, I ran out to the car, driving away into the night, never looking back.
BILLIE'S POV
When I woke, Carrie wasn't in bed. I went downstairs, but I couldn't find her. Confused, I walked into the kitchen. There, on the counter, I found her note. After reading it over and over, I finally put it down. Goodbye? Suddenly, it all came rushing at me. "Carrie!" I screamed. I ran outside to see my car gone as well. I numbly walked into the house. "BJ, what's with all the screaming?" Tre asked sleepily, walking down the stairs in his boxers. "Tre, she left," I whispered, handing him the note. "What?" Tre cried, waking up fully and grabbing the note. I collapsed onto the couch. Tears began to pour down my face. "I'm sorry, Billie Joe," was all Tre mumbled. I suddenly got up and punched the wall, knocking a hole through it. "Goddamit, Tre! Carrie's everything to me! I gotta find her," I cried, raging. I grabbed Tre's car keys and ran outside. I had no clue where I was going to look. She could be anywhere.
