Accident at the Square, chapter 2
Angie and Hether stood there, staring at him in disbelief,"As in...Tré Cool...?" Angie asked quietly. Tré looked at her,"Yeah, how'd you know?" he asked,"Oh, just a guess!" Angie said, smiling slightly. Heather shook her and walked off. Angie looked back at Heather, then back to Tré,"I'll be right back..." she said and ran off in Heather's driction. "How do we know he's not a poser?" Heather asked in a whisper. Angie thought it over for a moment,"Well if he is, he's damn good at it..."she muttered, looking back at him,"So? He's still a poser none the less," she said. Angie turned back to Heather,"Answer me this. We used to be in Georgia, now we're in California, do you not think that to be just a little odd?" she asked. Heather nodded. Angie continued,"Plus, it sure does look a lot like him, no?"
"Still not buying it..." Heather said. "Then let's ask him what year it is, alright?" She asked. Heather hesitated before nodding and walked back over with Angie,"Hey...mind telling us what year it is? My freind here forgot and she won't listen to me," Angie said, shrugging slightly. Heather looked over at Angie,"He-" She was cut off by Angie elbowing her in the arm. Tré gave them another odd look,"1989..." he answered.
"Uh...we have to go now...Right Heather?" Heather nodded and started to walk off. "Sorry!" Angie called out as she caught up with Heather. Heather looked up at Angie,"What are we going to do?" she asked. Angie smiled,"My grandparents said they used to live here!" She said. She took off down the street, trying to remember where they said they used to live. Heather followed close behind, not sure of what her friends was doing,"Do you even know where they live?" Heather asked from behind Angie,"Yeah...I think it's around here..." Angie said, turning a corno,"You think?!?" Heather asked,"What? We can't all be sure about everything, now can we?" Angie defended. She came to stop infront of a house. Heather couldn't stop in time and they both fell to the ground.
They stood up, Angie glaring at Heather,"Sorry..." Heather said, rolling her eyes. Angie walked up the drive way towards the front door. "You sure this is it?" Heather asked. "Fairly," Angie replied. "Fairly?!?" Heather asked,"Would you quit yelling?" Angie asked, getting annoyed. She rang the doorbell and heard rustling inside. An elderly woman answered the door,"Hello?" she asked,"Would you perhaps have the last name of Novick?" Angie asked. The elderly woman nodded slowly,"Well...um..." Angie hesitated. Heather spoke up,"We're from the future! And this is your grand daughter! And we were won-" The elderly woman cut her off,"Ahh, yes, I've been expecting you, Angie and Heather. Come in, come in..." she said, holding the door open for them. "Say wha...?" Angie asked, confused. "Oh Angie, you didn't belive my stories, did you?" Angie's grandmother laughed. Angie shook her head, wide-eyed,"Nuu..." She said. She and Heather walked in. "Your rooms are upstairs and Dinner is at nine," Angie's grandmother said. The girls walked upstairs and found their rooms. Angie's room was painted black, had a computer and an old game system, and an electiric guitar. Heather's was painted a sky blue color with horses running across the walls.
Angie looked at the clock. 7:00. Angie and Heather meet back in the hall and went back downstairs. They found Angie's grandmother reading a newspaper. She turned the page as they walked up to her. "He lives down the street some, Heather," she said without looking up from the paper,"...Billie Joe?" she asked. "That's his name? I often forget it..." she said then nodded. Heather looked over at Angie and squealed with excitement. "Oh, and school starts tomarrow," Angie's grandmother said smiling, still not looking up from the paper. The girls shrugged and went back upstairs and into their rooms.
