A Nightmare Come True, chapter 3
"Fuck me blind." Riley said, quoting Tré.
"Gladly." Callie said. Both, her and Riley, stared into the room, wide eyed. The room was beautiful. It was huge, quite possibly the size of Riley's entire apartment in California, which was a penthouse apartment, seeing as Riley was very successful with her photography.
"Wow." She said, stepping into the vast room, Callie following behind.
They dropped their luggage by the door, and Riley ran over and jumped on one of the beds. Like the entire room, the bedding was beautiful.
It was forest green, with intricate designs in a burgundy color. A plethora of pillows were strewn in such a way that made it seemed natural, yet extremely elegant.
Everything in the entire room was forest green and burgundy. It looked just like a room that a beautiful Parisian princess would have slept in. The bed opposite hers, Callie's bed, was identical except it had burgundy covers with forest green designs.
Both beds had huge canopies that could be closed, but were currently drawn back. Huge chests sat at the foot of each bed, and a large bureau next to each bed. A burgundy and green persian rug lay between the two beds, which were facing each other at an angle. A small set of four steps led from the beds to a sitting area, which included two huge couches, a love seat, a flat screen television, and a coffee table. On the right, a door led to the bathroom, which was probably as big as Riley's master bedroom at home.
"What's this?" Callie said, holding up a ballgown she had retreived from the bureau.
"I reckon it's a dress Cal." Riley said. Callie threw one of the high heels from the bureau at her. Just then a knock came at the door. Riley jumped over the railing of the sleeping area to get it. She almost screamed as she opened the door and saw Mr. Creepy.
"Madamoiselle, I am here to tell you that Monsieur Michel left you and Madamoiselle Callie, dresses to wear to tonight's welcoming ball." He said in his thick french accent.
"Oh well, thank you but we already have..." Riley began. Mr. Creepy grabbed her arm, making her wimper.
"He wishes you to wear the gowns he has presented to you." He threw her arm down and walked swiftly down the hall, knocking at Mike and Tré's door. Riley quickly closed the door.
"The ball gowns are for us Cal." She shouted to her best friend. Callie squealed in excitement. Unlike Riley, who found this extremely creepy and unsettling, Callie thought it was the coolest thing next to sliced bread, and within minutes they were decked out in their Renaissance attire. Michel even came to the door and escorted them, well Callie rather, to the ballroom where everyone else was waiting.
Riley sat down between Tré and Mike, while Callie sat with Michel. Everyone was dressed in Renaissance attire, even Tre. Riley looked at him and caught him staring at her, but he quickly looked away. He looks wonderful. Riley thought. She looked at Billie, who like always, took her breath away. She'd always had a crush on Billie, they'd went out for awhile in high school, and when Billie had dumped her Tré didn't speak to him for weeks, even after Riley began to speak to him. She suspected that he had had a crush on her, and was angry that Billie had let her go so easily.
"Wow this is beautiful Michel." Riley said motioning toward the dinner table. It was covered in strange and exotic foods.
However, Michel didn't hear her as he was busy whispering in Callie's ear. Riley looked at Tré and they both shrugged. He nudged her and motioned to Mike, who was holding his goblet of wine so tight that his knuckles were white. He was staring intently at Michel and Callie, staring so hard that Riley was afraid that he'd burn a hole through them. He lifted his glass to his mouth and downed the entire glass of champagne in one gulp, causing Riley and Tré to stifle their laughter.
"He really should ask her out already." Tré whispered in Riley's ear. She nodded and began to eat. The meal was actually quite awful. Tré kept making gagging noises and Riley had to continuously kick him under the table. She was happy when it was over and she was able to go up to her room.
"Psst Ry?" Callie whispered, grabbing Riley by the back of her dress. "Michel has invited me on a tour of his chateau." She giggled. "Mind if I go?"
"No, not at all. If I get scared I'll just call Tré." She said as Callie turned and walked away. That was the beauty of the intercom systems in the room. You could page any room at any time. She found that she wasn't the least bit nervous though, and after watching a little TV she decided to go to bed. She turned off the main lights and kept Callie's tiny bedside lamp on for when she returned. She was just dozing off when all of a sudden she heard someone enter the room.
"Riley." the voice said. It was a male voice, a familiar voice.
"Riley I'm here for you." they said in a whisper.
