A Whisper Of A Name In The Dark, chapter 2

Billie Joe felt his feet touch the ground first before the rest of him came crashing to the ground. Billie Joe felt around him, it was most definitely solid ground but of what surface he couldn't tell. It wasn't concrete, asphalt, dirt not even wood. Billie Joe was confused. Where am I? How did I get here? Billie Joe thought back to the least thing he remembered. He remembered a blurred image of three figures sitting at a pub. The image focused and he saw the three were Tre, Mike and... Wait who was the other one sitting on the bar stool? He had black hair, green eyes, and talked, acted and looked just like Billie Joe. But it couldn't be. He was Billie Joe. Right? It was like he was on the outside looking in. But that was absurd it was a memory so he should be seeing through his own</> eyes shouldn't he? It was only a memory... Wasn't it?

[i]Beep Beep Beep Bee-
Tré pushed the alarm clock off the table and onto the floor with a thunk. Tré opened his eyes and blurrily stared down at the clock. It was upside-down. He flipped it over and it read 2: 24 in glowing red digital numbers. Tre groaned and turned over onto his side. He stared up at the cracked ceiling. He was in a hotel, Floor 13 Room 8. Why was my alarm clock set for 2: 24 in the morning? He flipped over resting his cheek on his pillow and staring at the moon shining through the shut curtains. This is going to be a long night He got up and put on his shirt. He grabbed his room key and set off down the hall. He waited for the elevator for 5 minutes before he decided to take the stares. He opened the stares door and started down. His feet where the only sounds in the stare well and it made it echo even more.

When he got to the bottom he stepped out into the lobby. It was dark, only lit by the fireplace that was on the far left side of the wall. It was cold. He looked at the thermostat it was 55 Fahrenheit. He made his way over to the little café. It was dark in there too. There was an article of a news paper open set on one of the glass tables. Tré picked it up and looked at it. He was going to go and look around town. He fished around in his coat for his car keys. Then he remembered that they were still up in the room so he decided he'd walk. When he stepped outside he was greeted by a gust of cold air to the face. He was half way down the block when he saw a Radio Shack. He looked in the dark window. There were a few clocks in the display window. Tré laughed as he noticed they were upside-down but then stopped when he saw what they read, BILLIE. He titled his head and saw that they read in boxy block numbers, 3:17 and 7:18. Weird time to set a clock. Most of the others Tré noticed, only read 12:00.

He walked down the street then noticed a big clock set on one of the street lamps. It read 2:52. He looked down at his own watch and noticed it also said 2:52 so he carried on his way. A while later he came across a little 24 hour diner and went in. I could go for a cup of Joe about now. He noticed a big lady with red bouncy hair and a big smile behind the register. She was the only one there, it looked like. He looked around. A sign right above the register read, Seat yourself. Tré looked around the deserted restaurant. He took a seat in a ripped booth in the corner. He ordered a cup of coffee then went to use the bathroom. When he went to wash his hands he noticed a hat perched on top of a sink. He picked it up and looked at it. It was a normal enough hat so Tré put it on. He liked it.
