A Whisper Of A Name In The Dark, chapter 7
"I am so sorry." Billie whispered to no-one, for he was alone.

Adrienne sighed and set her bags down on the dining room table. It had been a long day at work. She took off her coat and hung it on the coat rack.
"Mommy mommy mommy!!!" Jakob was racing down the stairs two at a time. He wrapped his arm around her and squeezed her tight.
"Hey mom." Joey said from the top of the stairs. He was wearing a faded Blink-182 shirt and worn down jeans with holes in the knees. It was faded because he wore it so much. Jakob was wearing a Spiderman T-shirt and shorts.
"Look what I made!" Jakob said holding out a drawing. It was stick figures but Adrienne smiled and said,
"Wow this is good Jakob!" She took it and pinned it up on the refrigerator with a magnet.
"Hey mom can I get my allowance early?" Joey asked coming down the stairs.
"Why?" Adrienne asked.
"I need to get a new CD." Joey said sitting down at the island in the middle of the kitchen.
"Want or Need?" She asked.
"Pleaseeeee?" He begged.
"What CD?" She asked taking out things to get dinner ready for it was around 7:20 already.
"Green Day, American Idiot. Come on mom it's the best CD ever! I've heard a bunch of songs on the radio and it was nominated for a whole bunch of shi—"
"No." Adrienne said getting out the lettuce and chopping it up into separate leafs.
"Oh come on! Whhyyyy?" He whined.
"I have my reasons." Adrienne said putting down the knife and tossing the lettuce into separate salad bowls.
"But whyyyy?" Joey pleaded.
"I said no. End of story." She said getting out the chicken and cutting that up.
"I bet it's just because it's parental guidance." Joey said.
"Enough. You are not getting the CD end of discussion." She said.
After a quiet dinner Jakob went to bed, Joey stormed up to his room and Adrienne cleaned up. She was rinsing off dishes when a thought burst into her mind. I wonder where Billie is today. I wonder how he is. Then she brushed it aside and continued with the dishes. Then she caught herself thinking I wonder if he still thinks about me. And Joey and Jakob. I wonder if he even remembers us.
