-Recap-
Now my mom would have to get a job, no parent would be home after school everyday anymore to greet me, no father to bring in the family's income. It was just me and my mom now, and somehow we had to get through this together, it's going to take some time, but it's a fact of life

I fell asleep in the car, I was exsausted, especially since it was 3 in the morning.
As we pulled into the driveway I could hear my mom sigh. She parked the car and brought me inside. My mom tucked me into bed and I fell asleep again.
----------
When I woke up I put on my house coat and slippers and slowly trudged downstairs. My mom was having her usual morning cup of coffee. She looked as if she had been crying. I tried not to cry, but soon tears were trickling down my face. I tried to hide it, untill I couldn't bare it anymore. I ran and I grabbed onto my mom. She pulled me onto her lap and we sat there and cried together. I missed my dad so much, I don't know what were going to do without him. Sitting on my mom's lap, I looked over at the newspaper, she was circling jobs. The newspaper was tear stained. I pulled away from my mom after about 10 minutes and poured myself some orange juice. There was school today but my mom let me stay home of course, we were having rough times.
"Okay, I'll be out almost all day. I'm going to apply for some of these jobs, see what ones I can get." I nodded at her and went back upstairs to my room. I opened my closet and pulled out my cherry red guitar, with a black guitar pick guard. My dad had given it to me for my 8th b-day. I held my breath so I wouldn't cry, and I strummed some songs from the Clash. Once I had enough I put away my guitar and lied on my bed and fell asleep.
"Danielle, Wake up!" I groaned and opened my eyes, it was my dad.
"DAD!?" I sat straight up in bed and hugged him.
"Wow, you look like just saw a ghost.."
"B-but you died in a car crash, hospital...." He looked at me a bit worried.
"Well I'm alright, there's nothing to worry abo-" His eyes went wide and he fell over face first. I saw a knife that was sticking out of his back. Blood everywhere. I screamed, sweat pouring down my face.
I sat up in bed, sweat staining my shirt. I looked at the clock, 5:00pm. I looked around my room, no one there, 'must have been a dream' I thought. I climbed out of bed and went downstairs slowly. Looking around the house, my mom was no where to be seen. I dialled her cell number and asked her where she was.
"Hello?"
"Hi mom? Where are you?"
"Sorry hunny, what did you say? You'll have to speak up." There was loud music and loud voices behind hers. I could hear lots of guys whistling at my mom.
"Where are you?" I said a bit louder.
"Uhmm, at work dear, but I gotta go, I'll be home at midnight. There is left overs in the fridge."
"Okay, love you bye." I hung up the phone and walked over to the fridge and pulled out some hot dogs. Just then the phone rang. I liCked my fingers and ran over to the phone.
"Hello?"
"Hi, Danielle?"
"Hi..."
"Oh hey, its Billie.." My heart started to beat a bit faster, I was smiling now at the sound of his voice.
"Hi Billie!"
"Why weren't you at school today?" I started to cry into the phone.
"Danielle? Are you okay?" I nodded, even though I knew he couldn't hear me.
"Do you want me to come over Danielle?" I shook my head.
"No I'm fine."
"Well you sure don't sound fine! I'm dropping over right now, see you in 10."
Before I could object he hung up the phone. I just shook my head and wiped the tears from my eyes.
"I'm starting to get sick of crying." I whispered to myself.
I heated up the remaining four hot dogs for me and Billie to snack on. Pulling out a few DVD's for us to watch the door bell rang. I set them down on the coffee table and ran to open the door. When I opened the door, Billie stood there with his hands in his pockets and his head up high.
I swollowed just looking at him, I didn't even know why I was attracted to someone at such a young age.
"Hey..."
"Hi." I was back to my shy stage.
"You ready to tell me why you were crying?" Billie said as he kicked off his shoes. I nodded and motioned for him to sit down on the couch.
"Okay, let me tell you straight forewords...my dad died in a car crash yesterday."
His eyes went wide and his mouth dropped open. He knew what it felt like, his dad died two years ago from cancer.
"I-I'm sorry.."
I shrugged, "It's no big deal."
"You wanna watch a movie?" We got up and chose a movie and popped it in.
---
I turned off the t.v and Billie got up to go, it was 11:55pm.
"Thanks for everything Billie.."
"No problem. I know exactly what your going through."
I kissed him on the cheek and he left. About five minutes later my mom walked into the door. Her makeup was a mess and so was her hair. She was holding a bag in her hand and she looked upset.
"Hunny, I need to talk to you..."
I nodded and we sat down at the table. She took a bottle of vodka out of the bag and drank from the bottle. My mouth dropped open wide, she's never drank in her whole life.
Ignoring the fact that I noticed that she was drinking she took a deep breath.
"Hunny, we are being forced to move out of the city, we're going poor and I was fired my first day of work."
I sat there speechless.
"W-when do we move?"
"A month from now, so we need to start packing our bags." My eyes were filling with tears, this was it for us and Billie, I would probably never see him again.
My mom pulled a cigarette out of her pocket and lit it. I was getting angry now, she was doing drugs drinking and smoking the day after my dad died, which would cause us to go even more broke. I stood up and slapped her in the face, I broke out in tears and ran upstairs.
"You get back down here right this second young lady!"
"Go away! Your not my mom! My mom doesn't drink, smoke or do drugs!" I stood on the other side of my locked bedroom door. I lied on my bed and cried myself to sleep.
---
When I woke up it was 7 in the morning, so I decided to get all my things ready for packing today. My life was really falling apart, I had to stay with Billie, I need to spend as much time with him as I can. As I was cleaning up my room I looked at my calender, it was Saturday, 'I could have sworn it was thursday', I whispered to myself.
I waited till about 9 to call Billie and I told him everything, it actually sounded like he was crying.
For the next few weeks I've been hanging out with Billie alot and doing some packing in between. But now today is the day, the day we move from my home town. Billie came over bright and early to give me his phone number and address. He helped me pack up a few last minute things and we spent the rest of the day together. At 5:00pm it was my time to leave. I cried on Billie's shoulder, he sounded like he was trying not to cry, he was trying to stay strong for me.
Just before I got into the car he handed me a piece of paper with his e-mail on it.
"Danielle, promise me one thing, you will all ways remember me."
"I will Billie." With that I kissed him on the cheek, climbed into the car, and we drove off to our new home. I watched Billie as long as I could, tears slowly coming down my face. I knew I would never see Billie again, I just didn't want to break his heart that way, I didn't tell him I was moving out of the country, I just said I was moving to a different town. I lived in Oakland California, and now I will live in Canada. Today is the last day I will see Billie, or at least at this age, I have to learn how to live, and remember how much we loved each other, and all the things we did together.
