Your so last summer, chapter 1

Roxy grinned cheekily as she heard the gasps. She had only just entered the classroom and they were already whispering about the new red streaks habitating her black coated scalp.
As Mrs Hudson screeched at her for being late on the very first day back, she peered up through her thick locks. As usual, the outlaws were flopped onto the desks at the back of the room. The outlaws consisted of Roxy and her best friend Jimmy as guitarists and backing singers, Amy as lead singer, and Chris on drums.
As soon as their was nothing left wrong with Roxy that her teacher could not pick at her about, A.K.A her non existent school shoes which had been replaced red converses, her hair not being it's natural colour, her uniform being coated in badges and so on, Roxy took a seat within her band mates.
"Hey babes."
Roxy felt a flurry of arms wrap around her and for the first time since the start of the summer holidays she had felt safe. Her band was the only thing keeping her from making friends with a razor blade.
Her Dad left when she was 7 months old, and her Mum had remarried. She had hated her stepfather from the beginning. The night her Mum told her about the wedding Roxy's whole world had flipped upside down. She was all on her own in the world. She started to cut herself when she turned 10. Not properly, but scratched the surface till she bled, and to make sure no teachers saw she wore a sweatband to school each day. This carried on till she met Jimmy.
On their first day of secondary school, whilst all the other kids ran off making friends, she and Jimmy slumped in a corner. They were different from the other children. The other kids listened to pop music, had happy families, wore bright clothes and made friends quickly. But they listened to rock, had fucked up families, wore dark colours and were outcasts.
It was when they were glaring at all the other preppy kids that they caught each others eye. He raised his chin and a smile started to grow in the corner of his mouth. She stuck out her tongue cheekily and he rested his chin on the back of his hand. She lapped off the table, walked over to him, and that's when it all began.

"So what did you guys get up to over summer?" Amy asked as they slumped out over the benches as usual.
"I had to go to my cousins in Canada." Jimmy sighed
"ALL SUMMER!?!?!?" they all gawped.
Jimmy nodded his head so his blonde hair fell in front of his eye. He gave his head a nifty twitch so it fell back in to place. They all sympathised over Jimmy's summer, as Roxy smiled. She couldn't be happier to be back with her friends.
