Angels, chapter 1

There's a face.

A face full of sorrow,
with tears streaming down it's cheeks silently,
those lips not letting go one sound.
Those eyes staring down;
blurry visions drawn on the ground.

There's a song.

Playing in the background,
making it feel like a movie scene,
with a happy ending to come.
But it ain't a movie,
and happy endings are scarce.

As the tears grow heavier in his eyes he starts sobbing,
cuddling up in a corner and twining his arms around his knees.
He looks so lost,
so forlorn.
As if the world just broke apart in his hands.

I'm moving closer,
laying my arms around him like I always do.
I feel him shivering in my arms.

The room's getting colder by minute.
He doesn't get up to turn on the heater,
he just pulls the huge shirt he's wearing closer around him,
as if it would give him extra warmth.

He wipes the snot off his nose with it's sleeve,
and the nearly dried tears off his cheeks.
He takes a deep breath and looks up.

I touch his heated face.

His emerald eyes are searching the room,
moving slowely from left to right.
He's not really looking for anything special.
It's more of a way of trying to regain his composure.

I cup his cheek softly.

He buries his face in his hands as a new wave hits him
and the tears start shooting back into his eyes.

I run my fingers through his jet- black hair,
whispering softly into his ear:
"Everything will be alright."
