i never told you what my life is like, chapter 1
""Get on the bus!" dad shouted at me.
"SHUT UP! I'm going damn it," I muttered.
"Ellie, stop mumbling and GET ON THE BUS!"
SHUT UP! I screamed at him in my mind. "OK, I'm going."
So I sat there on the charter bus for three hours. Alone. With my Walkman.
"Its almost like they wanted me to leave..." I started to sing Basket case at the top of my lungs just to annoy the dude in front of my.
"SHUT UP!" the dude yelled. "There are people who actually like quiet on this bus."
"I'm not one of them!" I said smart-assly.
He sighed and turned back to his TV dinner.
"Did you know TV dinners are made with bloody steaks that are left out in a field for a week and then re digested by evil mutant cows?" I heard a voice behind me ask.
"No...wow, I learned something today! I thought that's what school is for."
"I, Garfunkle, can master any schooling at any time."
"Erm...right..." I muttered. "Who are you again?"
"He is Tre," the taller man beside him said.
"MIKEEEEEE!" Tre whined. "This is no fun any more!" he crossed his arms over his chest like a three year old and pretended to cry.
"Aww, did the little girl make you sad?" Billie asked. "Good job," he whispered to me approvingly.
"I HEARD THAT!" Tre shouted.
"So...why are you on this bus?"
"I'm going to California...to get away from everything...and I think my parents actually want me to go away."
"Its easier to send you away than it is to keep you home with them," Mike said.
"Wait...why are you talking to her?! She made me CRY!!!!" Tre whined some more.
"She seems...well, cool. Not your average teenie."
"I am NOT a teenie," I said through gritted teeth. "I...just...don't mind that I'm talking to one of my favorite bands...oh...my...gosh...I'm talking to Green Day!!"
"Yah, you are," Billie said. "And I thank you for not going all 'OMG CAN I HAVE UR AUTOGRAPH?'"
I laughed. "Uhm...I...hi," I said softly. Wow this is somewhat embarrassing...
"It just so happens that I am going to California as well," Mike said. I shall show you all you need to know."
