What Mysterious Figure?, chapter 7
Adrienne was having a hard time coming up with a prank to pull on Mike, so she asked Billie Joe for help. He gave Adrienne a childish, but very amusing prank. Very late that night Adrienne went to Mike's house while he was asleep to pull the prank.
Meanwhile, while Adrienne was at Mike's house, Billie Joe was at Tre's. He had something that he knew would top all the pranks he had ever pulled before. Earlier that day, Billie purchased spray chalk. Adrienne had asked Billie what he was going to do, but he didn't reply.
Adrienne covered Mike's property with naked Barbies and other dolls. She also taped pictures of porn to his house. She knew that this would piss him off, but she also knew that he wouldn't take it too seriously and could laugh about it. But the same could not be said about Tre.
Billie Joe wasn't worried about hurting Tre because all he wanted was revenge. Billie Joe used the spray chalk to spray sentences on Tre's house and yard. Some of the sentences he sprayed were: "Tre Cool-Not Cool", "Tre Cool = Stupid", and the worst one was "Tre Cool is the worst drummer." Billie thought that Tre would find this amusing and funny, but he thought wrong.
Adrienne and Billie Joe, after finishing their pranks, headed home and arrived about the same time. They decided they would go visit Mike and Tre in the morning to see how they reacted. If only Adrienne knew what Billie Joe had done to Tre.
Morning came and Billie and Adie left and headed to Mike's house first, but he wasn't home and everything Adrienne had done was left alone and undisturbed. They didn't think anything of it and went to Tre's house. Mike was there and that made Billie Joe and Adrienne wonder. What Billie had done was left undisturbed as well. They knocked on Tre's door and Mike answered and wanted to talk to Billie alone. Mike and Billie stayed outside to talk and Adrienne went to go see Tre, but she did not expect to see him crying.
"Tre? What's wrong?" asked Adrienne
"Did you see what BJ wrote? Does he really feel that way?"
Adrienne tried comforting Tre and told him it was just a prank and it didn't mean anything, but he didn't believe her. Outside, the conversation between Billie and Mike continued.
"Billie how you fucking do this? You know he's sensitive about this shit. You know how he feels, so why would you write this?!" Mike was extremely pissed
"Mike, it was just a joke. I thought he was over feeling that way. I'm sorry."
"Don't tell me, Tell Tre... and you better fucking mean it."
"I do."
Billie and Mike entered the house to see Adrienne and Tre embraced in a comforting hug, and they heard muffled cries coming from Tre.
"Tre can I talk to you alone please?" asked Billie Joe
"I guess. But what more do you have to say?"
They headed upstairs to talk and Mike and Adie talked downstairs as they waited on Tre and Billie.
"Tre, I'm really sorry. I didn't know it would hurt you this bad, I thought you find it as a joke... as something to laugh at."
"Yeah Billie. It's so fucking hilarious to be told you're the worst drummer. I love fucking hearing that! Do you really feel that way? " Replied Tre with anger.
"Tre, it's not like that... " Billie was immediately cut off by Tre.
"No it is like that! I know you don't like me in the band you just want me in the band so I make you look and sound good. I have always known that. You don't care!"
"Tre don't be this way. You know that's not true. You know I don't feel that way. Everything I wrote was a lie. You're the best fucking drummer out there. Tre, you're like a brother to me, I would never do anything to hurt you on purpose. I am really sorry. Please believe me."
"I'll believe you when you can prove that you are really sorry and that you do care." And with that being said, Tre stormed out of his house, got into his car and drove off.
Billie felt horrible knowing he caused a best friend so much pain. Mike, Billie, and Adie cleaned up Tre's yard and house. Weeks had passed and they were all starting to worry because Tre still hadn't returned nor had any of them heard from him.
