The Extraordinary Girl, chapter 2
"WAKE UP!!!!!" someone yelled in Billie's ear.
"AAAAHHHHH!!!!!" he screamed, jolting awake. He was curled in a ball under the covers and became confused because he couldn't see anything. He squirmed around until he fell off the bed. He took the covers off to see Tre grinning above him.
"Tre, what in the world was that for?" he yelled.
"Everyone tried to wake you up: Adrienne, Mike, even Joey and Jakey tried to jump on your bed." Joseph and Jakob were Billie's sons.
"Then I came along and they asked me to wake you up," Tre continued, "and you did." He walked towards the door. "So, Billie Joe Armstrong, I suggest you get off the floor and get downstairs. We're ready to leave."
"Whatever you say, Frank Edwin Wright... III! Ha, III... "
Tre scowled and went downstairs. Now it was Billie's turn to grin. Tre didn't like to be called by his real name; it was too long. And it didn't sound like him either. Frank Edwin Wright III sounded like a mature adult's name, and Tre was anything but mature. He would sneak up on you, pull pranks, or teach the boys how to cause chaos for their father.
Billie got up and went to the bathroom to get ready.

Twenty minutes later, Billie put the last of his luggage onto the waiting tour bus on his driveway.
"Well, that's it," he said. It was an early, February crisp morning in Oakland, and Billie was freezing. "OK boys time to say bye to Daddy!"
He spread his arms as his two boys came running at him. He embraced them in a tight hug and then kneeled down to talk to them.
"Now, I want you guys to be good to mommy and not cause her any chaos...no matter what Tre told you. And I don't want to hear that you guys aren't doing good in school. Don't become like daddy." Billie had dropped out of high school halfway through his senior year. He wanted his kids to be able to do whatever they wanted, even follow in his footsteps, but he wanted them to have a good education.
"Dad, it's 'doing well,' not 'doing good,'" Joey pointed out.
"See? You're already smarter than me!" Billie said, ruffling his hair. "I'll only be gone for 5 months, 4 at the least, but I'll try to be back as soon as I can, OK?"
"OK," they answered.
Billie got up and went towards Adrienne, who was talking to Mike. Mike was way taller than Billie, about 6'11" or something. He had brown hair and blue eyes. They had known each other since they were 10 years old. Mike had even rented a room at Billie's house when they were younger. Unlike Billie, Mike graduated high school and even attended collage for sometime.
"Hey," said Billie.
"Hey," Adrienne answered.
"I'll go and get the rest of my things," said Mike, and he went into the bus.
"I'll miss you," said Adrienne.
"Me too," Billie replied.
"How long will you be gone?"
"Five months at the latest. If the album was a bigger hit than we predicted, we'll probably do a second tour later this year."
"OK. Take care of yourself OK?"
"I will. And I'll try to call everyday."
"Alright." And with that, they kissed and Billie went off and got on the bus.
"Bye, Billie! I love you!"
"Love ya too, Adie!"
"Bye, Dad!"
"I'll miss you, Daddy."
"Me too. Be well."
"It's 'good,' Dad!"
"Whatever."
And on that note, the bus drove off to its first tour stop, Sacramento, California.
(5 months later)
"That was the most awesomest tour ever!" exclaimed Tre.
"Jeez, your grammar sounds worst than mine," commented Billie.
The American Idiot tour was over, and their album had such a huge impact that they decided to have a second tour later that year or around March of next year.
"Whatever. Still, as awesome as that was, I'm glad to be back in Oakland."
"Yeah, me too," said Mike, plucking Are We the Waiting on his bass.
"Me three, I can't wait to see Adie and the boys again," said Billie. "Speaking of which, we're out of food. Let's stop by 7-11 to get something."
"OK. I'll tell Larry," said Tre. Larry was their bus driver/bodyguard.
Fifteen minutes later, they parked the tour bus a few blocks away from the nearest 7-11 to avoid screaming fans. The four of them walked into the store and went around to see what they wanted to buy. Tre just stood by the register; he said that he wasn't hungry (which is weird because Tre is always hungry). The shop was quiet and there wasn't anyone in it except for a man standing near the door, watching them and eyes narrowed and a girl sulking somewhere in the back so you couldn't see her unless you were extremely tall. Mike went off to the beer section while Billie looked at microwavable food. Larry just stood near the door, reading a newspaper.
As Billie went up and down the aisles, the man followed him with his eyes. This made Billie extremely uncomfortable. After a few minutes the clerk went in the back room. Billie made his way towards the front.
"Hey Billie!" shouted Tre.
Billie whirled around to see Tre stuffing gummy worms up his nose. He and Mike started cracking up. Them Billie heard a groan behind him and before he could see what was going on, the man near the door put an arm around Billie's neck and pointed a gun and Billie's temple. A few feet away, Larry lay on the floor unconscious.
"What the—?" Billie started.
"Shut up!" said the man.
Mike and Tre froze where they were, right in front of Billie on the other side of the small shop. The gummy worms fell out of Tre's nose.
"Nobody move and nobody gets hurt!" said the man aggressively.
Just then the clerk came from the back and saw the scene. She screamed and the man shot at her. She ducked just in time and he said, "Stay down!" He turned to Mike and Tre. "You two give me your money."
"We don't have anything!" yelled Mike.
"Billie has the money," said Tre.
"I said give me your money!" commanded the man.
"ARE YOU FREAKIN' DEAF??? WE DON'T HAVE ANY MONEY!!!" yelled Tre.
"Why don't we just give you an autograph and sell that on eBay?" suggested Mike. He was trying to compromise with the man so that they could get out of here alive.
The man thought he was screwing around and so he shot the gun twice, one for Mike and one for Tre. There was nothing between the two to protect them. There was a scream.
It was like it happened in slow motion. As the bullets went at them, the girl from the back came charging out and shielded Mike and Tre from the bullets. She pushed them out of harm's way, but she didn't get as lucky. Both bullets hit her right arm.
"NO!" shouted Billie, Mike, and Tre.
