We Meet Again, chapter 4
The Next Day...
I had just gotten out of the shower when the doorbell started ringing.
I pulled on the sweats that had been lying on floor of my bedroom as fast as I could. By the time I got to the bottom of the stairs, the doorbell was ringing non-stop.
When I pulled the door open, Billie Joe was standing behind it with an innocent smile plastered across his face.
"Jeez, what took you so long? I thought you were dead or something," he said, as I stepped aside to let him in.
"I had just gotten out of the shower when I heard the doorbell ringing," I said defensively.
"You didn't have to put any clothes on," He said mischeviously. I rolled my eyes playfully.
"Why are you here?"
"I wanted to see my favorite person," He said sweetly.
"That would be nice if it were true. Now, why did you really come here?" I asked and smiled.
"I got lonely," He pouted. "How can you live all by yourself? I'd go crazy!"
I shrugged, "It's not that bad."
"Pshh."
"You get used to it," I said.
"Wanna go to my house?" He asked. I shrugged.
"Sure."
***
"Here we are," he said as we pulled into his driveway.
The house was amazing. It was beautiful. I told him this and he replied with a quiet, "thanks."
I pushed open the car door and stepped into the cool, night air. Billie Joe started walking up the front steps and I silently followed.
"Here, I'll take your jacket," he said as soon as we got inside.
"OK," I took it off and handed to him. He opened a door to what I think must have been a closet and threw it in.
He smiled at me led me into the kitchen.
"Do you want anything to drink?" he asked me while opening the fridge.
"No thanks. I'm good," I replied. He shrugged and pulled out a beer.
He closed the door and turned to me.
"Want a tour of the house?" he asked.
"OK."
***
Billie had just finished showing me the second floor.
"Up here is just the third floor master suite," he said as we made our way up the staircase.
"Wow," was all I said.
When we got to the top, there was a small little hallway type thing with photographs shrewn across the walls. There was only one, single door at the very end. I followed him as he started walking towards it.
"The last room in the house," he said as he flipped the lights on.
He stepped aside to let me in. My mouth dropped open at the site of the bedroom.
"This is really nice, Bill."
"It took us forever to paint the walls and then find stuff to match them. You know... Like comforters, pillows, furniture. Things like that," he said and awkwardly looked down.
It was silent for a few seconds when I suddenly felt very cold. I ran my hands over my arms and said, "It's cold in here."
I felt a pair of arms wrap around me. I looked up at Billie Joe and smiled. He moved his head closer and slowly pressed his lips against mine.
We started moving closer to the bed. Then the phone rang. I stopped kissing him and pulled away.
"Leave it," he said quietly and continued to kiss me.
We backed up onto the bed, never breaking away from eachother. I layed down as he crawled over me.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" he wispered into my ear.
I nodded, "Yeah."
***
After we finished, Billie Joe rolled off me and situated his body next to mine.
Still breathing heavily, I moved closer to him as he wrapped his arms around my body.
Billie Joe opened his mouth to say something, but stopped as soon as he heard the door open.
An attractive woman with dark hair appeared in the doorway.
"What are--" she stopped when she saw me.
A terrified look appeared on Billie's face, a confused and angry one on the womans.
"A- Adrienne," he squeaked.
