This Is How Green Day Helped Me With My Life, chapter 5
These 3 girls approached me. They looked like preps. One of them spoke. "Hey you're new, right?" I nodded. "So tell us again. Why are you hanging out with those retards over there?"
"There not retards or losers. They have been really nice to me since I moved here." These girls obviously had nothing better to do then make fun of everyone so I ignored them. Billie waved his hands so I could sit next to him.
"Hey, did Jessica come over to talk to you?" Mike asked.
"Yeah. she is sorta rude." Billie laughed.
"You think? I laughed.
"The 3 girls you talked to were the school cheerleaders. Jessica is the bitchy one."
"Oh ok."
After lunch, Billie invited me to go to his house for band practice. I, of course said yes. If I wanted to keep a friend, I was going to do everything with them. I sat on the couch in their basement watching Billie, Mike, and Al getting their stuff ready.
They were really good. I kept my eyes on Billie the whole time. There was just somethnig about Billie that I liked about him. Bilie had charisma.
Billie finished playing the last chords and started pcking up his guitar. "So Emily what did you think?"
"You guys are awesome!" Billie smiled. Mike and Al had to leave but Billie wanted me to stay longer.
"You want something to drink?" he asked me.
"Yeah sure." Billie handed me a coke and we both sat down.
"So why did you move here?" Like I said before, I really didnt want to talk about it. Billie probably could tell by the look on my face that I didn't want to talk about it. "Oh Amily if you dont want to.." I cut him off.
"No it's ok. My dad was abusive, I may have told you, so one day my mom had enough of it and got me from school and we left."
Billie looked down. "Oh I'm sorry." I smiled.
"No it's ok. The most important thing was we got away and now we're safe." Billie looked at me with those cute green eyes.
"Emily I have known you for 2 and a half days. I will make sure no one will get you." Billie promised me something I thought no one would ever do.
"Thanks." I hugged him for that.

The next month went by very fast. Me and the guys were really good friends, well me and billie are a little more than friends. It was getting near the end of the year. "Aw fuck!" Billie screamed in the hallway. I came up from behind him.
"What?" Billie was looking up from his paper in his hand.
"I'm dropping out of school. My grades are terrible." Billie handed me his paper. He was right, his grades weren't the best.
"Billie what will your mom say?" Billie shrugged.
"I dont know." Billie had asked me to come with him to his house to talk to his mom about school. Yeah his mom wasn't happy but he dropped out of school.
