Another Day In Paradise (Not), chapter 1
"Hey watch where you're going idiot," yelled some guy that I had just run into.
"It would help if you weren't standing in the middle of the hall jerk," I said. God people can be so careless sometimes. I was trying to navigate the halls of the
crowded highschool I go to.
I had just moved here one week ago from Texas. I have to admit California has better scenery, but i didnt really know anybody.
Well except for Valerie and Jill. They were my new friends and we get along just fine. We all like the same music, we have all the same classes and we live right next to each other( two or three streets apart).
I finally got out of the school and started looking for Valerie and Jill. I finally spotted them hanging out by the graffitied bleachers next to the football field.
"Hey guys" i said.
"Hey Michelle where have you been? We've been looking for you all day," said Jill.
"Well I got to school late because I missed the bus and because that was like my
4th time being late to class they gave me an ISS(in school suspension)." I replied.
"That totally sucks," said Valerie.
"Yeah I know, but it was only for today," I said.
"So what do you guys want to do today," asked Jill.
"I dont know play some music?" I said.
"Sure, we can practice at my house, my parents aren't home so we wont bother
anyone," said Valerie.
I had discovered that Jill and Valerie play instruments so we had started going to each others houses to play. We were thinking of starting our own band. I played the guitar, Jill played bass, and Valerie played the drums.
"So are you adjusting well?" said Jill as we walked to my house first to get my guitar.
"I guess, but this jerk in ISS kept telling me stuff about you guys and how he
hates punks like us," I said. "It was fine because I flipped him off and told him
to F off and die."
"Nice one," said Valerie, laughing.
"He was about to kick my @$$ but a teacher came in and he couldnt do anything," I said.
"So that's why you looked like you wanted to get away from the school so badly," said Jill.
By that time we had reached my house and I grabbed my guitar and a pick. We
then started off for Jills house for her bass. We talked about how we were doing
in our classes, and what I missed while I was in ISS.
"...And then the teacher yelled at me and Jill because we were talking during this
really boring movie."said Valerie.
"What was the movie ab-." I said, not able to finish my sentence because I had
just been pushed down to the ground. I looked around to see this really cute guy
with green eyes lying next to me.
"I'm so sorry." he said, looking indeed very sorry.
"Watch where you're going then idiot," said Jill, helping me off the ground.
"It's okay," I said while looking over my guitar to make sure it wasn't damaged.
"You dropped your pick," said the guy as he bent down to pick it up.
"Thanks," I said. "Hey you were in ISS today werent you?" I asked him.
"Yeah, and you're the girl who told off that idiot," he said smiling.
"That's me, and by the way my names Michelle," I told him.
"My name's Billie Joe, but you can call me Billie," he said.
"Well bye," he said as he walked away.
"Make sure you pay attention to where you're going this time," I told him.
"Will do," he said laughing.
Jill, Valerie and I started walking again, this time talking about something else. "What an idiot, he wasn't even paying attention to where he was going," said Jill.
"Yeah, but a cute idiot, dont you think so Michelle?" said Valerie. "Hello, Michelle, Earth to Michelle."
"What, oh yeah I guess," I said, I had been thinking about him and how I had
seen him hold in laughter after I yelled at the creep in ISS. And I have to admit
he is kind of cute.
After we finally picked up Jill's bass and gotten to Valerie's house we were having a good time. I had written some songs and I played them for Valerie and Jill.
"So what do you think?" I asked them as I finished the third song.
"Awesome," said Valerie.
We spent the rest of the time adding the drums and bass to the songs.
"Well, I guess we can officially call ouselves a band," said Jill once we had finished.
"Yeah well i better get going." I said to Valerie.
"Kay, we'll see you tomorrow then," said Jill as I left.
I really didn't want to leave, because i didn't want to go home. My parents weren't home and I was really lonely but I had a curfew so I left.
I walked home slowly, thinking about Billie Joe. God he was so cute. And while I was thinking about him I hadnt been paying attention and I had wandered into a completley different part of the neighborhood.
Let's face it I had gotten myself lost.
