Lost For Words, chapter 16
Billie got up and walked to the door, clutching his side. Steph went to flick on the light switch, but a hand stopped her, before arms went around her.
‘Why did you leave me?’, he asked her, starting to cry. He leant his head on her to her and rested it as his tears fell on to her, before soaking into her shirt.
‘I thought, I thought you wouldn’t want me around anymore’, she said wearily, holding him closer when the moment allowed her to. The two stood in silence in each others arms for a moment before talking again.
‘Why would I want you to leave, I love you’, he told her crying into her again. They looked into eachothers eyes before kissing passionately for another moment, forgetting everything that had happened the few nights before. Billie looked back into her eyes.
‘Don’t leave me again please. Ever’, he told her walking her over to the bed. They sat down quietly with their backs against the bed head and continued talking as Billie wanted to tell her something.
‘I promise I wont, ever again’, she told him, linking their fingers together. She held his hand tightly as he kept an arm around her shoulders.
‘Good, 'cause I want you to stay here with me forever’, Billie told her again, pulling out a box from his pocket. It was the ring box again. Steph’s eyes started to tear once again.
‘Listen, I know you might not want to marry me, but please just wear this for me, to show me that you love me’, he told her, still with tears pouring from his eyes. She let him fix the ring onto her hand.
‘Billie your gorgeous’, she told him, kissing him as she rested her head on his chest. She closed her eyes, and Billie started singing softly to her, as he stroked her hair gently. Steph snuggled in closer to him.
‘I love you Billie Joe’, she whispered to him, as she stared to fall asleep again. Billie kept his arms around her to keep her up, as he gave her a kiss.
‘No I love you’, he replied. Steph must have fallen asleep though as she didn’t answer him. A few minutes later Billie started to fall asleep too, but no one had told Steph about the trip they were leaving for tomorrow.
-The Next Day-
‘Stephie wake up’, Billie said, nudging the sleeping girl. Steph snuggled in closer to him. He smiled, and took a look at the ring on her ringer before trying to wake her again.
‘Steph wake up, please’, he told her kissing her forehead, before he shifted his weight and got out of bed. Steph noticed he was gone, and slowly opened her eyes.
‘Billie, come back here’, she told him, putting her head down on the pillow, instead of having it leaning on Billie as she had done before.
‘We cant, we’ve gotta go, come on get up and get ready’, he told her. Steph looked confused.
‘Go where?’, she asked, trying to grab his hand, to pull him back in to where she wanted him to be.
‘Oh shit I didn’t tell you did I’, he said, sitting back down on the bed. Steph crawled up to him, and put her arms around him, leaning her weight down on him.
‘Tell me what?’, she asked, running her fingers though his hair sensually. Billie rubbed his eyes.
‘We......we got asked to come back and demo record. We’re leaving today, Mike has all the details all I know is that we have to be at the airport by 11.30 and well its 9.30 now, so you might want to get up and pack’, he explained getting up and walking back over to his closet. Steph smiled.
‘OMG, I’m so happy for you guys. So you all seriously want me to come?’, she asked, getting up and walking to the door.
‘Of course we do. I’m not going to go if you don’t come’, he told her. Steph smiled and walked out of the bedroom, to get ready.
-At the Airport *departing*-
‘So is everyone ready to take off?’, the pilot asked. The four friends looked at eachother, and gave him the okay. Slowly the aircraft took off and started to make its way up from Oakland down to Los Angeles where they needed to be. Since the aircraft had its own mini cabins, as a ship did, Steph decided to go catch up on some sleep.
‘Billie get outta my bed’, she said, walking into on of the cabins, she was going to claim as her own.
‘This is my room’, he told her, ‘But we can share if you wanna’, he finished smiling. Steph took no notice of it and as he was saying that, got into bed beside him.
‘Wake me up when we get there’, she told him, as she quickly fell asleep before he could say anything. Billie stroked her hair as he usually did when she fell asleep and then climbed over her and got out of the bed, leaving the cabin so that she would be able to sleep in peace.
‘She looks adorable when she speaks’, Tre said, walking past the cabin door, as Billie was coming out, allowing him to see in.
‘Yeah, like an angel’, Billie said, turning around so see her one last time, before she shut the door behind him.
‘You wanna beer’, Tre smiled as he held up a few stubbies in his hands. Billie took one and thanked him before he walked into the main part of the aircraft. Instead of Tre going to where he was planning to, be ran back put the beer in the fridge and sneaked quietly into the room Steph was sleeping in.
-Mike and Billie in the seating area *an hour later*
‘I haven’t seen Tre for a while?’, Billie said wondering where his friend might have gotten to.
‘Ahh just leave him, he probably fell asleep with a beer in his hand’, Mike said, picking up another from beside him. He popped the top of and started drinking it down, as they sat watching the in-flight movie.
‘I wonder how Steph is?’, Billie asked, curiously. Mike looked at him.
‘You know you shouldn’t give her this much attention’, he told his friend. Billie asked him why.
‘Cos she’ll eventually not take it anymore’, Mike said, taking a sip before continuing, ‘And then you’ll have yourself a problem. You don’t need to show your attention for her every moment of the day, just do it when you think she needs it. That way she wont except it so easily’, he finished. Billie saw Mike’s side of what he was actually saying, and then thought twice about getting up to see her again.
‘Alright, I’ll so see her when we’re about to land’, Billie thought out aloud, before he too picked up another beer and set his eyes back on the movie.
-Steph’s cabin-
‘Steph, you asleep?’, Tre asked, closing the door softly behind him. The girl opened her eyes and watched him walk closer to her.
‘I’m not asleep anymore. Is something wrong?’, She asked with concern. She sat herself up, so that she would be able to speak to him properly.
‘No nothings wrong, I just wanted to talk to someone’, he explained taking a seat next to her...
