"I've Done Twins", chapter 14
"She'll be down in a second, apparently," He informed Jess.
"God only knows how long a 'second' is for Leah."
"Tell me about it," Tre moaned, rolling his eyes.
"Thanks for... y'know, comforting me, I guess."
"It's ok," Tre grinned, "If I were an attractive girl like you and you were a fucking
sexy guy like me, I'm sure you would have done the same."
"Don't flatter yourself," She giggled, "You think I'm attractive?" She asked.
Shit, Tre thought, Did I say that or think it?
"Yeah..." He said nervously.
"Thank you, Tre," She smiled, "And... uh... I agree, if you were the attractive girl and I was the drop dead fucking gorgeous guy like you, I'd do the same."
She reached up and pecked his cheek. Tre turned and kissed her lips. At first it was a peck, then it deepened and deepened, until some heavy making out was taking place. Eventually, while Tre and Jess were still kissing and touching each other up and all that, the doors opened and Leah stood before them. Tre and Jess froze, with their lips still pressed together and Tre still had his hands on her hips.
"Jesus Christ, are you sure you don't want me to leave you in here a little while
longer?"
"Leah!" Squealed Jess, pulling away from Tre and running over to her friend, "How've you been?! What have you been up to!? I've missed you so much!"
Leah laughed and hugged Jess back, "Hey, man, what have YOU been up to is the real question here! Lip locked with Tre Cool, you SHOULD know better!"
Tre stared for a while before, sounding outraged, shouted, "EXCUSE ME! BUT I
WAS STUCK IN HERE TOO! I DIDN'T GET A HUG!"
Leah laughed and helped him up, "C'mon, we'll get you back upstairs." She eventually caved in and hugged Tre.
Courtney woke up in the hotel and crawled out of bed. Billie immediently sprawled out and slapped his hand about.
She smiled and kissed his forehead, and scruffed up his hair.
"Aw, man," She moaned, rubbing her sleepy eyes, "Better go see what Leah is up to."
Courtney brushed her hair and stepped out into the hallway. Hayley and Jason were standing there with Leah.
"Uh... have I missed something?" Asked Courtney.
"Hello, Courts, nice to see you again! Yes, I'm fine, thanks for asking," Smiled
Hayley. They laughed and Courtney put her arms around Hayley's neck.
"Hey, Hayles, nice to see you again! How are you?" She said.
"Haha, you look tired, Courtney, haven't you slept yet?"
"Nope," Courtney replied, "Jason, when did you meet Hayles?"
"When I walked into her shop, I guess," Smiled Jason.
"Leah... what are you doing out here?" Courtney asked.
"I could ask you the same thing," She smiled, "Nah, I'm out here because Tre
managed to get himself stuck in an elevator."
Courtney laughed, "Really?"
"And... he asked out Jessica Greenwood."
Courtney stared at Leah, "Are you serious?" She asked.
"Mm hmm, I caught them... making out... in a broken down elevator. From what I've heard, they're dating now."
"Aw, gross!"
"Look, Jase, Leah, Courts, I've gotta go, I promised mum I'd babysit Matthew
tonight. Talk to you tomorrow though, ok?" Hayley said.
"Sure," Jason said quickly.
"Yep, can't wait," Grinned Courtney.
"Leeeeaaahhh," Mike sang, "Leeeaaah! Little Leeaah! Lee Lee! C'mon, babe, wake up!"
Mike pushed her and nudged her, but Leah refused to wake up.
"Leah! I'm warning you! If I have to I'll undress you myself and drag you into the
shower!"
"You don't have the balls," Leah moaned sleepily, moaning and rolling over.
"Wanna make a bet on that?" Grinned Mike, pulling her shirt up slightly.
Leah slapped his hand away.
"Leah, unless you want to miss your father's funeral, I suggest, lovingly, that you
WAKE UP!"
Leah opened her eyes and saw Mike leaning over her, she lifted her hand and placed it on his freshly shaved cheek. Mike leaned down and kissed her lips softly.
"I don't want to wake up," She mumbled, "Not in the mood."
"That attitude will get you everywhere in life," He joked. Mike picked her up like a
baby and carried her into the bathroom.
"Mike! What are you doing?! Put me down!" She yelled.
"Nope, if I don't force you into the shower, you won't go."
Mike had to undress her, place her in the shower, turn the taps on, and throw soap at her.
"Mike! This is a form of abuse I hope you know!" She snapped.
"And so is scratching and biting and shoving and pushing and kicking and all the things you did to me just trying to get you in here!"
Leah grinned deviously.
"Ok, you got me in, but good luck getting me clean and getting me out."
Mike glared at her, Leah grabbed his shirt and pulled him in aswell. Mike stood under the warm water with Leah.
"Good on ya, Leah, you got my pyjamas wet!"
"Aw, boo hoo," She snapped, giggling evilly. She kissed him passionately and slammed him against the shower wall, "You're just gonna have to DEAL with wet pyjamas, Mr. Dirnt."
"Gee, thanks," He grinned, running his hands down the sides of her body.
"Billie Joe! God you're as bad as Leah sometimes! Wake up," Snapped Courtney, who was struggling to drag Billie out of bed by his feet. Billie clung to the bedhead and refused to leave his bed.
"Billie, please, wake up!"
"I am awake," He moaned, "I just don't want to get out of bed!"
Courtney sighed and sat on the bed, next to him. She stroked his hair.
"Please, Billie, for me, wake up."
Billie couldn't resist that tone and look she had. He sighed and sat up.
"Fine, give me about 15 minutes and I'll be ready."
Fifteen Minutes Later...
Billie stepped out in a black Misfits T-shirt and black pants. Courtney gasped.
"Billie! You can't wear that to my dad's funeral! April will have a heart attack!"
"I thought that's what we were going for," He joked, "Courtney, this is my favourite shirt!"
"Aw, Billie, you look so cute in it, but... can you please just... dress up a bit."
"But... but... Band Shirts are so punk!"
She laughed, "Nice try, go get into another shirt, the pants are fine."
Billie rolled his eyes and got into the shirt he and Mike decided on.
"That's better, babe," Courtney smiled, standing up, and reaching up, to put her arms
around his neck.
"I love the shortness of you," He whispered, with his lips grazing her ear, "Makes me feel taller."
"Oh shut up," Snapped Courtney, "I'm not that short, am I?"
"No babe, you're... just... heightly challenged."
They both laughed, "Billie, you're not one to talk, you're short compared to a lot of people too, y'know?"
"I know," He smiled, "But only around you... and Leah... I can, literally, look down
my nose at you."
Courtney slapped his arm, "You're such a bitch, Billie."
"Jason?" Asked Tre, "Tie or no tie?"
He held the tie up to his neck, then pulled it away.
"Well," Jason shrugged, "The tie brings out your eyes a bit better... but... EW! I'M
GAY!"
"No you're not," Tre grinned, "You're my fashion guru!"
"That's not like me, Tre. I still like wearing leg warmers!"
"Then you need help," Tre raised an eyebrow at Jason, "'Cause that's really weird."
At The Church...
Leah and Courtney stood with Tre, Billie, Mike and Jason.
"We shouldn't of came," Mike said to Leah, for the seventh time, "We aren't family."
"We want you here," Leah told him, for the seventh time.
"I concur," Said Jason, "If Leah and... or... Courtney cry, we'll hold them, love them,
nurture them, and such," Jason hugged Courtney.
"Yeah, exactly," Courtney giggled and pat Jason's head.
"Girls," Came a voice from across the outside of the church. A woman with an
amazing resemblance to Gwen Stefani approached the Twins.
"Who's that?" Tre whispered into Courtney's ear.
"April, our step-mother," The girls said simultaneously.
"Geez, she's pretty hot for an old bag," Jason mumbled to Tre.
"Here here," Tre sniggered. Courtney, who was standing infront of Tre, elbowed his ribs.
"Hello, April, nice to see you again," Courtney smiled, giving April a hug.
"Ah, it's nice to see you too, darling, how have you been?"
"Fine," She faked smiled, "Leah and myself have been doing fine."
"Yes, Leah Marie, how are you, too?"
"Fine, thank you, April," Leah smiled fakely, and sarcastically.
The church doors opened, a priest stood at the door and told everyone they could
come in, as the service was to commence now.
Through the service, Leah wouldn't talk, cry or move. Courtney had tears shedding from her soft blue eyes.
"Thank you for coming, and I will meet you all at the grave site." The Priest declared at the end of the service.
Six men went up to the coffin that Leah would NOT go anywhere near and
carried it out away into the hearse three on each side.
Everyone started to shuffle out of the church, after the men, Courtney stood close to Billie, and he kept his arm around her to help her feel slightly better. Leah, however, didn't want to be touched, talked to or even breathed upon.
Mike went to hold her hand, Leah pulled away.
"Please, Mike, no," She whispered, "I'm sorry... but... I just think it'd be better if I
was... kinda... left alone."
"Yeah," He smiled sympathetically, "I understand."
As Leah got to the outside of the church Courtney grabbed her shoulder and pulled her out of sight of everyone.
"What's your problem, Leah Marie?!" She hissed.
"I don't have a problem, Courtney Jade," Leah mumbled.
"Mike is only trying to help you, and you're pushing him away!"
"I am not," She protested, "I told him that I didn't want to be... all snugly...."
"Leah, he wants to see you smile! He didn't fall in love with this depressing, unloving girl..."
"ONE DAY!" Leah shouted, "Just ONE day where I don't want to be touched, that's
ALL I'm asking! Is that too much? Sorry I'm not all over my boyfriend, Courtney, but I'm not like you. I never was! I'm sick of living in your shadow. And you're the younger one."
Courtney looked so hurt, she let her sister's shoulder go and looked at her shoes.
"Ok," She whispered, "I'll leave you alone then."
Courtney walked off to be with Billie, Mike, Tre and Jason. Leah stood against the
wall and ran her fingers through her hair.
"Damn it," She whispered, "Damn it, damn it, damn it!"
At The Grave Site...
Ashes to Ashes, dust to dust...
Courtney looked up, she stood on one side of the grave, with the guys, while Leah stood alone on the other side. She caught eyes with Leah. Her twin, her best friend, her evil twin, her world. Leah looked back down into the six foot deep hole her father was in.
Mike looked at Leah through the whole thing. Tre and Jason stared at their shoes and Billie looked blankly into the whole, as though he were remembering all his friends or family that left him.
The priest finished babbling on and on, he shut his bible book and let several people throw roses onto the lid of the coffin. April threw almost a whole fucking Flourist Shop into the grave. Leah kept the rose she was meant to throw, and so did Courtney.
Everyone left and Leah stood in her exact position, staring at the rose and twiddling it in her fingers.
"Mike," Whispered Courtney, "Go talk to her, please."
"She doesn't want me to," Mike mumbled,
"Please!" Pleaded Courtney, "We had a fight... she won't listen to me..."
Mike sighed and gave in. If he couldn't say 'no' to Leah's face, he wouldn't be able to say 'no' to Courtney.
Leah was twiddling the rose on the tips of her fingers when Mike put his hand on her shoulder. Courtney, Jase, Tre and Billie quickly left and went back to the car.
"I'm so sorry, Mike," She whispered, before quickly turning around and jumping into Mike's arms. Mike felt her sobbing and crying. He didn't say a word, completely mute. This was only the second time he'd ever SEEN her crying, and the fourth time he'd ever HEARD her cry. She pulled away and wiped away a tear using her sleeve. She started twiddling the rose again. A thorn pricked her finger.
"Fuck," She mumbled, as blood started seeping through the small hole. Mike wiped away the blood and kissed her finger. Leah smiled and took his hand.
"C'mon, we're going back to April's place," She said quietly.
"Wait," Mike smirked, pulling her hand back and stopping her from going anywhere,
"Don't I get a kiss?"
Leah smiled and looked down at the open grave, "Not infront of my dad, Mike."
Tre gasped, April's house was massive. It was right on the Ross River. Which was the main river in town and all the beautiful rich houses were built on it. The girl's father was an architect, and designed this house by himself. It was complete with a tennis court, a pool, a large fountain that ran into the pool, the tennis court could change into a basketball court (where Leah loved to play) and a beautiful garden and a marble staircase. When they got inside, they were even more amazed. The house was unbelievable.
"You live here?" Asked Jason.
"Sure do," Smiled Courtney, "Well... did."
"Hey, where's Mike and Leah?" Asked Billie.
"They're coming," Courtney replied, trying to persuade even herself. She smiled,
changing the subject, "C'mon, I'll show you our room!"
Courtney lead them upstairs into a large room. It made Tre gasp again. It had two big four post beds, a balcony, a big fish tank, a desk, a big stereo system, posters everywhere, a big bookshelf and the biggest wardrobe anyone had ever seen before.
"Courtney... is this a castle and are you secretly a princess or something?" Gasped Jason.
"I've always been a princess, duh!" She joked. Flopping onto her bed,
Courtney let out a giggle, "I wouldn't have all this if my parents didn't break up."
"Really? Why?" Tre asked, flopping onto Leah's bed. Billie sat down on the chair
infront of the desk and Jason sat just next to Courtney on the bed.
"Well," She smiled, "Once my parents got divorced, they fought over me and Lee a lot. It would be constant competition with each other, and fake compassion for us."
She sighed, "They spoiled us, just to show each other up. But, hey, it's not that bad!"
"Man," Tre laughed, "All I had in my room was a bed, a desk, some posters and a magazine or two."
"Same," Both Billie and Jason said,
"And you've even got your own balcony!" Billie chuckled. The balcony had a excellent view of the river. White see through curtains blew in the breeze, as the doors were open, and even though they weren't standing outside, the boys still saw how great the view was.
Suddenly, Leah jumped into the room and lept on her sister. They both laughed.
"I'm sorry, Courts," Leah said, with her voice muffled from her head being between her own arm and Courtney's head.
"It's alright, sis, I know how you feel."
Mike looked around the room in amazement.
"It's fantastic here, eh, Mike?" Grinned Billie.
"I know," Mike laughed in disbelief, "Jesus Christ!"
Billie was standing in the garden, waiting for everyone else. He stood against the wall and scanned all the faces. A few of the girls were pretty attractive, the men were good looking (not really Billie's type, however) and even the older over-30 women looked pretty good... for over 30 women. A girl bumped into Billie.
"Sorry," He said, rubbing his head, where the girl had knocked. Even SHE was goodlooking, but didn't look a day over nineteen.
"Oh, yeah, I'm sorry too," She smiled, "I'm Courtney and Leah's cousin. I saw you with them before."
"Oh, right. Hey, I'm Billie Joe."
"I know," The girl said, "I've seen you before." She looked over at April, who
beckoned her to come over, "See ya 'round," She said, before running over to April.
Billie waved stupidly after her back was turned.
Leah came over and handed Billie a drink.
"Those old people didn't believe I was 'old enough' to drink beer, so I got a fucking coke. How stupid is that!? I hate old people!"
Billie laughed, "You've told me that before. Hey, Where's the others?"
"God only knows," Shrugged Leah. Someone, again, knocked into Billie. It was the same girl. Courtney, Jason, Tre and Mike came over in time to see it.
"Man, I'm sorry," She said.
"That's the second time," Laughed Billie.
"Second time?" She asked weirdly.
"You hit me just before, then went over there-" He pointed towards April. Then he
saw it. The same girl. He stared back at the recent girl that hit him, then back in April's direction.
"That's my twin sister, Heidi. I'm Alexia."
Billie gawked, as did Jason, Tre and Mike. Courtney and Leah just tried not to crack up laughing.
"ANOTHER SET OF TWINS?!" Yelled Billie.
"It's hereditary," Said Leah, giggling, "It goes through the family."
Alexia smiled, giggled, and left.
"How many OTHER twins are there?!" Tre asked incredulously.
"That's it," Smiled Courtney, "Just me, Leah, Heidi and Alexia."
"Never know," Jason grinned, "Courtney and Leah might just end up having twins,
too."
"I doubt it," Both the girls scoffed.
Tre and Jess froze, with their lips still pressed together and Tre still had his hands on her hips.

Billie immediently sprawled out and slapped his hand about.

changing the subject, "C'mon, I'll show you our room!"
