"I've Done Twins", chapter 21

About half an hour later, the boys staggered up the beach and wrapped towels around
themselves.
"So cold," Billie shivered.
"I thought you said the water was warm," Jess asked, rubbing Tre's shoulders and
arms to warm him up.
"It was, but the air is cold. It's freezing."
"Don't be a girl," Teased Courtney, "You should have thought of that before you went
swimming."
"I'm not," Billie snapped, "I'm sensitive... and COLD!"
"Fine," Hayley sighed, "Hot chocolate all round!"
"We'll have to tip bourbon or something in it," Jason whispered to the
sober-and-pissed-about-it Tre.

Two Weeks Later...

Leah slumped through the door after an all day shopping trip with Tre and Jason. Mike
saw her tired, pissed off expression and smiled.
"I take it this shopping spree wasn't fun, eh Lee?"
"No," Mumbled Leah, "They just looked at girls all day. Then, they went for drinks.
Tre figured he had quite a taste for local wine and went a bit overboard. After about an
hour they were frankly, pissed and communicated via hand signs and the occasional
grunt. I'm never doing that again."
Mike laughed, "Yeah, that actually sounds like something they'd do."
"Yeah, no kidding."
"Where are they?" He asked, waiting for Tre and Jason to stumble through the door
shouting God knows what. But they didn't.
"What?" Leah turned around and gasped, "They were right behind me! Where...?
Crap! I lost them!"
"How could you LOSE two grown men?!" Shouted Mike.
"WE'RE NOT TALKING ABOUT TWO GROWN MEN! WE'RE TALKING
ABOUT TWO DRUNKEN IDIOTS!"
Mike sighed, "Good point." He grabbed Leah's arm and pulled her outside.
There, rolling around in the sand, they saw Jason and Tre.
"Good God," Mike muttered, "It's twelve o'clock and they're already drunk."
"SNOW ANGELS!" They heard Tre shout.
"I'VE GOT SAND IN MY UNDERWEAR AND I FREAKIN' LOVE IT!"
Leah walked back inside, too embarrassed to go down and drag them off the beach.
Courtney came into the lounge room, where Leah had her head buried in a pillow.
"Ah, what did the boys do now?" She grinned.
"What didn't they do?" The muffled voice said from the pillow.
"Leah..." Hayley came into the lounge room and smiled, "I take it this shopping spree
with the Troublesome Two didn't go down so well?"
She shook her head.
"Wanna tell us what happened?"
Leah pulled the pillow away and sighed.
"Ok, I'll tell you, but then you have to help me get them home...."

The Shopping Spree...

"NO! GUYS! DON'T TOUCH THAT!" Leah ran over to where Jason and Tre were
holding a big, ball that made your hair stand up when you touched it.
"Aww! C'mon Little Leah! Look at my hair! Isn't it cool?!"
Leah snatched the ball out of Tre's hands, her hair started standing up, she placed the
ball back on the shelf. Her hair dropped back down.
"You're no fun," Tre snapped, linking arms with Jason and walking away 'humph-ing'
and muttering.
"No fun?" Leah gasped, "I'll give that little fucker 'no fun'... so help me God I'm
gonna..."
"Excuse me," Said a girl behind her, "But may as you and your 'friends' to leave the
store. They're disrupting other customers."
Leah grabbed Jason and Tre by the collars and dragged them out of the novelty shop.
"LOOK! LEAH! A PET SHOP!" Jason ran into the pet shop and started looking at the
mice.
Leah needed to sit down badly. I should pour Ritalin in my drink, She thought,
Then maybe I could keep up to speed with them...
She snapped out of her thoughts when Jason shoved a mouse in her face.
"Oh Jesus! Where'd you get..."
Leah saw the open cage.
"Jason White..." She gasped, "Please tell me you DID NOT just open that mouse
cage."
"Ok..." Jason said coolly, "I DID NOT just open that mouse cage."
"ARGH! THERE'S A FUCKIN' MOUSE IN MY PANTS!" Tre screamed, beating
the legs of his pants, "GET IT OUT! GET THE FUCKER OUT BEFORE IT
NIBBLES MY FUCKING BALLS OFF!"
"Like A Rat Does Cheese all over again, for you, isn't it Tre?" Grinned Jason.
"YOU FUCKER, JASON! I'M GONNA KILL YOU! GET THIS MOUSE OUTTA
MY PANTS RIGHT... OH GOD! THERE'S ANOTHER ONE! ARGH!"
After fifteen minutes, Tre was mouse free. Jason was banned from the pet shop (for
life) and Leah was on the verge of murderous.
"Don't you guys wanna go get something to eat? Or drink?" She asked, looking over
at the seats in the food court.
"I want a pet mouse," Jason said.
"I don't," Tre mumbled, "I want a cat. Like Tre-Tre. To kill mice."
"I thought it was re-living the 'Like A Rat Does Cheese' Moments for you, Tre,"
Grinned Leah.
"Yeah, but that was a mouse. Like A Rat Does Cheese. Get it?"
"Whatever," She muttered bitterly, dragging them into the food court.

"Is that it?" Asked Jess, "So WHAT?! They got mice stuck in their pants! Ooh!"
"No," Interrupted Leah, "There's more. But I don't want to talk about it."
"You're cute when you're angry," Grinned Mike.
"Bloody Tre and Jase got drunk," Informed Courtney, getting back on topic, "Which is
why they're doing snow angels down at the beach now."
"That must have been embarrassing," Billie said, overhearing the conversation, "I
could only imagine the look on your face when it took two people to hold Tre down
and another to grab a mouse out of his pants."
Everyone, besides Leah, had a giggle about that.
"That's hardly funny," Hissed Mike, "What if that mouse had bit Tre? He could
have..."
"Caught rabies," Courtney cut in.
"Too late for that," Jess sighed.
"Yeah, he foams at the mouth whenever Jess walks out in a bikini," Teased Billie.
"No he doesn't!" Scoffed Jess.
"Well he should," Mike chuckled.
"While we're on the topic of bikinis..." Billie smiled, "I'm thirsty. Who wants a drink?"

Walking down to the beach to grab Tre and Jason, Leah tried to think how a bikini
relates to a drink. She saw Tre, shoving wet sand down his pants, and Jason pretending
to hoola hoop. She shook her head in shame as she went down and stood infront of
them.
"Leah! Wanna see our snow man?" Shouted Tre.
"This isn't snow, Tre, this is sand," Leah said in a patronising tone.
"I thought there was something a little funny about it when it didn't taste like snow,"
Jason said, with sand all over his face.
"Don't eat yellow snow, Jason! I've told you time and time again!" Tre throw some
sand at him.
"Why's the snow hot?"
"It's not snow! It's sand!" Leah yelled, "Now get up to the hut NOW or you won't get
any ice cream tonight!"
They dropped the sand and ran up to the house. Everyone on the beach (there wasn't a
lot of people there, only about two small families) stared at Leah as she walked up to
her hut, behind two loony drunks.

"Oh man," Tre grunted, "There's so much sand in my pants!"
He'd sobered up now. As did Jason. Thankfully.
"I'm so hot," Mike gasped, sinking into the couch.
"I know you are," Growled Leah jokingly.
"I feel like..." Tre stopped and sighed, "I feel like swimming, but I don't want to go to
the beach... people know me down there."
"Yes, you totally humiliated yourself," Jason grinned, "And me, at some stage."
Tre sighed again, "Why'd you let me get drunk, Leah?! You're meant to be
responsible!"
"Yeah!" Jason added in the same angry tone, "You're twenty five for Christ's sake!"
"I don't know which part of that sentence to correct first!" Leah shouted back, "First
of all, YOU were the one who dragged ME into the bar. Second of all, I may be
twenty five, but YOU'RE thirty three, both of you. So if anything you should be more
responsible..."
"You're right," Hayley interrupted smiling at Mike, "She is cute when she's
angry."
Leah gritted her teeth, "You guys really don't back me up. You realise that don't
you?"
Courtney grinned and nodded, "We like watching you lose the fight."
She glared at Courtney and slapped Jason upside the head.
"Well..." Tre shouted, "SOMEONE needs a nap."

Later...

Tre was walking around the house boredly. He was, what he thought, the only person
in the house. As everyone else went down to the beach, again.
He heard a strange sound coming from Jason's room. At first, he ignored it, but the
sound ended up getting louder. He couldn't ignore it anymore and curiosity got the
better of him.
Tre cautiously walked towards Jason's room and put his ear against the door, he
couldn't figure what the sound was. He quietly opened the door and peered inside with
only one eye.
He gasped. Hayley and Billie Joe were cheating on Jason and Courtney. Tre quietly
shut the door again and stared at the wall.
How could he? He asked himself, How could he do that to Courts?! How
could Hayley do that to Jason!?

He walked back into the lounge room and thought about what was going to happen.
They'd probably break up, and Jason would be heart broken. So would Courtney.
How was he going to tell anybody? How was he going to tell his best friend Jason, and
Courtney?
Before he knew it, Jess walked in, followed by Courtney, Jason, Leah and Mike.
"Man," Laughed Mike, "I didn't think you'd come up after that wave smacked you
down, Jason."
Jason chuckled, "Neither did I. That wave was out to get me. Mother fucker."
Tre smiled weakly at Jason and Courtney's happy faces.
Aw man, He thought, There's no fucking way I can tell them.
Jess saw the sad hopeless look on Tre's face. She knew Tre wasn't normally like this
unless something was seriously wrong.
"Tre... can you come with me for a minute...?" Jess said.
Tre stood up and followed Jess into their room.
"Sweetie, are you alright?" She asked softly, shutting the door.
"Uh... I'm fine," He smiled weakly, "Why? Does it look like something's wrong?" He
sat down on the bed.
"Tre," Jess said in a motherly way, she ran her fingers through his hair, "I can tell
something's wrong. I'm not stupid."
"Could have fooled me," He joked.
Jess slapped the side of his head playfully. "What's the matter?"
"It's..." He sighed, "You have to promise not to tell anyone."
"Cross my heart," She smiled, "You can trust me."
"I... I saw Billie and Hayley together."
"So?" Jess shook her head and rolled her eyes.
"They... they were acting more then friendly."
"What? Flirting?"
"No... Canoodling and..."
"Having...?" Jess didn't even need to finish. Tre nodded sadly.
"I didn't mean to find out. I accidentally walked in and.... and Billie looked fucking
mid-orgasm!"
"Oh, Tre, gross," Jess snapped.
"It's true. Jessie, it was disgusting. Like... watching Billie... ew."
"I see where you're coming from," She smiled, "Well... are you going to tell
Courtney... or Jason."
"What am I supposed to say?" Tre hissed, "Hey, Jase, you'll never guess what I
saw! I saw your girlfriend fucking Billie Joe! Bet you would have never guessed!
"
"Well if you say it like that..." Jess rolled her eyes, "Break it to him gently. You can't
just not tell him. And you can't just not tell Courtney."
"Good point," He sighed.
"C'mon, let's go out into the lounge room."

Everyone was in their rooms when they came out. Jess looked around. All the doors
were shut, and no one could hear them.
"Anyway..." She said, "What will you tell Courtney?"
Leah walked out of her room quietly and was just about to walk into the lounge room
when she heard them say her name.
"I'd rather tell Leah about it. I want her to tell Courtney," Tre said.
"You can't just tell Leah! It would be more embarrassing for her."
Leah pressed herself against the wall, out of sight for Jess and Tre and listened.
"Sure, I'll just say to Courtney, 'The love of you're life, Billie, was sleeping with one
of your best friends... hey! What's for dinner?'"
Leah's jaw dropped, she was shocked and extremely angry.
Fuck! Leah shouted in her head, This better be some stupid joke!
If anyone were to put Leah and Billie in a room with a knife, Billie would walk out
with a stab wound.
"Tre, be serious," Jess snapped, "We HAVE to tell them. It's not fair that Hayley and
Billie do this to... Jason and Courtney."
"I know!" Tre cried, "But I can't say it!"
"WELL I FUCKING CAN!" Leah shouted, she slapped her hand to her mouth and ran
back into her room. Jess and Tre shot scared glances at each other.
"Oh... fuck..." Tre muttered.

Leah threw herself onto the bed and sobbed, she was crying for Jason and Courtney.
"Leah?" Mike whispered, when he saw her on the bed, "Are you ok?"
"Does it fucking look like it?" She snapped.
Mike smiled softly at her attitude, "Are you gonna tell me what happened or do I have
to force it out of you?"
"Force," She joked, still crying. Leah sat up and fell into Mike's arms, "I need you to
promise me something, Mike. And it's serious."
"Ok. What?"
"Promise you won't ever cheat on me. Please."
"I promise," He laughed, "Why? I mean... I'd never do that but... why?"
"Because... I heard something... and I know I shouldn't be eavesdropping but..."
"Get to the point, Leah," Mike sighed impatiently.
"Billie's cheating on my sister!" She cried into his chest, "That fucker's gonna break
Courtney's heart. So help me God I'm gonna kill that mother fucking cunt... I..."
"Ease up on the language, Leah Marie Prescott!" Mike joked weakly, trying to make it
better.
"Mike? Don't you care?!"
"Of course I care! I... I just think we should stay out of it..."
"STAY OUT OF IT?!" She screamed, "NO! GET FUCKED! THIS IS MY TWIN
SISTER WE'RE TALKING ABOUT! I'M GONNA KICK THAT PRAT'S SORRY
LITTLE ASS FROM HERE BACK TO THE FUCKING STONE AGE!"
She stormed into the hallway and knocked into Billie Joe. Who was grinning at her.
Leah couldn't control herself. She threw herself at Billie and attacked him. She
punched him and scratched and bit and hurt him in everyway possible.
"HEY! LEAH! STOP! GET OFF ME!"
Mike ran into the hallway and pulled Leah off Billie.
"You fucker!" Screamed Leah, "I can't believe you, Billie Joe!"
Years of respect and admiration just seemed to disappear, for Leah. She adored Billie,
in a friendly way. But it was gone now. Mike was having a hard time holding Leah
back. For a short ass little chick, she sure was tough.
Mike struggled to get her back into her room, kicking and screaming, and shut the
door. He held himself up against it to stop her opening it.
"What the fucking hell was that all about?" Billie shouted.
"You deserved it," Grunted Mike, who was still trying to keep the door closed.
"What?"
"She knows what you've been doing with Hayley."
Billie's face went white. He stared at Mike.
"I..." He stuttered and stammered.
"Billie, don't deny it. It's not me you have to be afraid of."
Hayley knocked Billie's shoulder as she walks past.
"Billie? Why's your cheek bleeding?"
Billie put his hand up to the scratch mark Leah had left on him and noticed some blood
forming.
"Mike," Came a quiet voice from inside Leah's room, "I'm sane now. Let me out.
Please?"
Mike opened the door cautiously and was expecting Leah to pounce out and attack
Billie again.
She didn't. Her eyes were still filled with tears, making them glossy and beautiful
looking. Looking sadly at Billie, she shook her head and walked outside, out onto the
patio.
Hayley watched in surprise.
"Is she ok?" She asked.
"We need to talk," Mike growled, shoving them both into his room.
