Joey, chapter 9

So, here I am, sitting in history. Why do we have to talk about the past, if we weren't there and it has already happened, why do we really care? I certainly don't care that much for history, well I didn't until Stef sat next to me...again.

"Joey, when did world war one end?" asked Mrs Johnston, knowing that I wouldn't know the answer.

"1918" I replied. Everyone looked shocked, including the teacher.

"Erm..That's correct Joey" she said, still in shock.

The bell rang for break.

"Do you wanna hang out with me?" I asked Stef.

"Sure that would be great, I don't know anyone else here" she said grabbing her bag. We walked outside into the warm air. Summer break was coming up soon so, no more school for a while, thank god.

"So, how old are you?" She asked.

"14, you?" I asked.

"I am 14 too, my birthday is during summer vacation" she said.

"Mine is next month actually" I answered.

"Cool" she replied.

"Yeah, I might be having a party at my place if you wanna come?" I asked her.

"Yeah sure, that sounds great that is if you are allowed it." she replied.

"I probably will be, my parents are cool like that" I told her.

"Lucky, I wish my parents were like that" she answered as we walked around to English.

"Well some parents are, some parents aren't. Hey would you wanna come to my house after school?" I asked her.

"Well I dunno, I would have to go and ask my mom and then I could come over after that" she said.

"Ok, that's cool" I replied happily.

*After school*

"Hey mom, hey dad!" I yelled.

"Oh hello there, ARMSTRONG!" yelled Tre. Oh god no, not Tre.

"Heh...Heh hi Tre" I said, backing away towards the stairs.

"Don't think I'm not gonna get you back ARMSTRONG!" he yelled, laughing manically.

"Ok, where's my mom or my dad?" I asked.

"Upstairs" he said turning away. I ran upstairs.

"Mom, you have to save me from Tre! He's going to kill me!" I cried.

"No he won't, and besides you started this game of pranks so, you can end it." she stated.

"Fine, fine. It is ok that my friend comes over?" I asked.

"Yeah, of course Kris can come over" said my dad.

"Oh, no it's not Kris, it's my friend Stef" I told him. A huge grin spread across his face.

"Why is your guitar coming over?" he asked, pretending to be dumb.

"Oh, ha ha dad. No my friend Stef the person" I said.

"Oh yeah, your girlfriend." he teased.

"No not my girlfriend" I told him.

"Yes your girlfriend" he said simply.

"Billie don't tease him if he wants to bring his girlfriend round" said my mom, joining in with my dad.

"Not my girlfriend!" I yelled storming from the room, downstairs, them following me.

"What's going on?" asked Tre as we reached the living room.

"Joey's girlfriends coming over" said my dad. Oh god, great he told Tre and she's not my girlfriend. He's gonna embarrass me infront of Stef! Oh god.

"NOT.MY.GIRLFRIEND." I stated.

"Aww Joey has a girlfriend" yelled Tre dancing around.

"Not my girlfriend and if you do anything when she comes, I swear to god!" I yelled at him.

"Aww is lil' Joey embarrassed?" Asked my dad.

*Ding Dong*

"I'll get it!" I yelled running to the door, before Tre got to it.

"Hi Stef" I said smiling and stepping aside to let her in.

"Hey" she said smiling 'that smile'.

"Erm this is my mom, Adrienne that's my dad, Billie Joe and that's his friend, Tre" I introduced.

"Hi" she said, still smiling.

"Hey" they all replied.

"I really like your band" she said, shyly.

"Why thank you homie" said Tre.

"So erm...we are gonna go chill upstairs so er-" I got cut off by Tre.

"Sure we'd love to come chill with you guys" he said following us up the stairs.

"Oh god fine you know what, do what ever you like!" I told them.

"Ok, Stef come with me, I have some baby photo's of Joey to show you" said my dad turning around.

"No! Really no dad" I pleaded.

"No I'd like to see them!" said Stef, giving me a playful punch. I let out a groan, as they all trooped to the living room and my mom pulled out all the family photo's.

"This one was when Joey was 3, at the beach, oh this one was his fourth birthday. This one here was when Jakob was born, the first time Joey held him." They explained everything that was happening in all the photo's and I just sat and listened in the background until one caught my attention.

"This one was when Joey was five and he suddenly decided to run round naked" said my dad, about to hand Stef the photo.

"NO!" I yelled, diving at my dad and grabbing the photo.

"Tre, get him!" yelled my dad, as Tre pinned me down and my dad grabbed the photo and passed it to Stef. I could feel myself reddening, as she giggled.

"Ok let's put them away!" I said, getting over my embarrassment.

"Aww ok lil' Joey, just for you." said my dad, pinching my cheek.

"Thank you! Now we are going upstairs alone" I yelled.

"God, some boy sure is PMSing" said Tre shaking his head. We went upstairs before they could sat anything else.

"God, sorry about them, they can be so embarrassing sometimes" I said, collapsing on my bed.

"Oh it's ok, you never told me your dad was in Green Day" she said, giggling again. I blushed and turned away, not wanting her to see how much I loved the sound of her giggle.

"I guess it never really came up" I said truthfully.

"Well, it's awesome anyways" she said sitting on the edge of my bed.

"Yeah, I guess it has it's advantages" I said sitting up.

We sat for about an hour, talking about random shit, getting to know eachother properly.

"Come on hobo's time for dinner" yelled Tre up the stairs. I rolled my eyes, and me and Stef giggled then went downstairs for dinner.

"Dad who's that?" asked Jakob.

"That's Stef, Joey's girlfriend" said my dad.

"Oh yeah, Joey's girlfriend" said Jakob, throwning me and evil glare.

"Not my girlfriend" I said to him.

"Why are you going out with my brother, he smells real bad?" asked Jakob.

"Jakob, she's not my girlfriend" I said shoving him over.

"Hey! No fair you can't shove me around!" he said shoving me back.

"Get lost Jakob" I said sitting down.

"I can't , I know my way around" he said sticking his tongue out at me.

We all ate dinner, before Stef had to go. I wish she didn't have to go but, at least I will see her tomorrow.
