Homeroom, chapter 4
Billie opened the book to find about 25 pages of pretty good songs.
"Whoa!" he mumbled as he scanned through the songs. When Billie got to the school he knew he had to find Katherine so he could return the book. But before he could Billie saw his best friend running down the hall yelling his name.
"Hey Man," Mike yelled as he waved.
"Hey!" Billie said as he waved back. Mike walked over and grabbed Katherine's book from Billie.
"Some new songs Bill?" Mike asked as he scanned threw the book.
"No there someone else's," Billie said.
"Ohh! So you stole them?" Mike asked with a wicked smile on his face.
" No I didn't there Katherine's remember that girl I was telling you about and now I need to return them," Billie explained.
"Well I'll help you find her," Mike said and followed Billie down the hall.
The boys skipped the first two periods of the day. After awhile of no luck they slipped outside for a fast smoke. But just before they opened the door, there was Katherine making her way to her locker. Billie grabbed Mike and they walked over.
"Hey! Katherine, I have your book," Billie said as he walked closer to her.
"Oh my god thank you so much I have been looking everywhere for this," Katherine said very reassured. She looked at Mike.
"So who is your friend?" Katherine asked.
"Ohh..sorry this is Mike, Katherine Mike, Mike Katherine," Billie explained.
"Hey," Mike said and handed over the song book.
"You guys didn't read anything did you?" Katherine asked.
"No," Billie said.
"Yes," Mike said. Katherine was puzzled, but Billie gave Mike a mean stare and finally confessed.
"Ok, we both did but your songs are pretty good.. do you know how to play guitar?" Billie asked and hoping Katherine would forgive him.
"Nope but I've always wanted to,"
" Well I can teach you if you wanna," Billie suggested. Mike could see that there was no point of him being there so he said his good byes and went outside to finally have his cigarette.
"That would be really cool..one problem I don't have a guitar," Katherine said with a sad look and puppy dog eyes.
"Oh well I have an extra that you can borrow," Billie said with a smile.
"Great," and Katherine winked.
"So what day is good for you?" Billie asked.
"Well my moms going to watch this dumb play on Saturday so you can come over about 3:00 in the afternoon," She suggested.
"Sweet, see you then," Billie said and walked away.
But he soon realized that he had a crush on Katherine.
