Forever Running, chapter 4

"Time to get up, breakfast is on the table" I heard a voice whisper in my ear. I knew I was definately not at home! That would never happen.

"Huh... What time is it?" Were the only words I could say. I looked over at the wall clock across the room. 11:30 AM. 11:30?! Oh crap what about school?! I guess there was no more school. It's not like I could even say anything to Billie Joe, The best thing to do seemed to be forget about it. So I did. Maybe it was the wrong choice but Billie would know that I wasn't seventeen otherwise.

"Come on" He said

"Alright" I mumbled. I got up and got changed and then went downstairs to a full breakfast. Wow! Bacon, egg, sausage, the works! He cooked everything well, even baked beans tasted better than usual!

"Is it alright" He asked nervously.

"Lovely!" I answered. He smiled at me. After Breakfast we went and sat in the living room. We both sat down on the sofa and Billie Joe picked up the TV remote. He flicked through the channels for a bit and passed through to the news channel.

Oh my god. The news headline flashed onto the screen. School girl Sarah Young has been kidnapped. I just sat there gobsmacked staring at the screen. I knew it wasn't mum, she wanted the best for me. I knew it was Jamie. An interview with aclose family member it said came up. I waited. Jamie was on the screen.

"My fifteen year old sister has been kidnappped, she looks like this" He cried. He was actually crying. He was faking it. He held up a photo of me. Billie Joe was just as shocked as I was.

"Oh my god Sarah" He said.

"I'm so sorry I lied, I really am" I said guiltily.

"Sorry you lied?" he was confused. He didn't have a clue what I was talking about. I decided to come clean.

"I'm not really seventeen" I said. He just looked at me.

"I'm really fifteen" I couldn't look him in the eye, I felt even worse now than when I first lied to him.

"That's okay" He said after about two minutes of silence.

"I don't care how old you are, age is just a number" He smiled at me. We sat on the sofa cuddling for the next half-hour until a sketch came onto the screen. It was Billie Joe.

Oh my god. I gasped, soon Billie realised I was staring at the screen and the remote fell out of his hand. The reporter spoke:

"We think this is the man who has kidnapped Sarah Young the two were seen leaving a cafe together and driving off in a black car" He announced.

"I'm so sorry i've got you into this mess. I will leave if you want me to"

"No" was all he could say. He stared at the TV some more before saying:

"We'll both leave" He was willing to give up his life to help me. That meant so much to me, no-one has ever cared that much about me. Within a few hours he had his bags packed and was ready to go. It was 2:00 PM.

By 3:30 we were on the road and out of town. We were going to have to keep a low profile. That meant no friends (not that I had any), no family, or anyone else could know where we were. It wasn't going to be hard for me but maybe for Billie. I felt really sorry for him. He had to give up everything. He had so much more than me to lose. He could lose his life to prison if we are caught. He's given up his job and his home. Maybe he really likes me.
