Say Cheese!, chapter 9

I grinned. Tom all over. He looked me over again. "You look so grown up." I smiled at him.

"I was about to say the same for you." He laughed, pulling me in for another hug.

"I missed you." I found myself smiling into his chest.

"Yeah, I missed you too." I pulled away.

"I like the new look." He grinned sheepishly, running his hand through his browny/reddish hair, which was more blood red at the front.

"Thanks." We exchanged grins.

"Dude, I'd like you to meet someone. Well, some people." He grinned, looking around the restaurant.

"That elderly couple at the back?" I frowned.

"What?"

"You want me to meet that elderly couple in the corner."

"No. I want you to meet the two extremely hot and confused looking guys sat in the corner." He hesitated for a moment, looking around the coffee shop. He noticed them. Then grinned.

"Come on." I grabbed is arm and pulled him through the labyrinth of tables until we reached the corner. I coughed to get the guys attention. "Billie Joe. Mike. I'd Like you to meet my good buddy Tom. Tom, meet my good buddy Billie Joe, and my brother Mike." The guys looked at each other.

"Hey, Tom. Name's Mike. Nice to meet you. I've heard a lot about you." They shook hands, like, all formerly and shit.

"Like what? The time we fucked in the shower?" We all fell silent and everyone was looking at me.

"Tom!" I hissed.

"What? Didn't you enjoy it?" Billie and Mike exchanged worried glances.

"He's kidding," I muttered, pulling a chair out, and sitting down.

"Sure I am," muttered Tom, grinning in my direction. Billie laughed, and Mike smiled slightly, watching my blush. We got our coffee's and talked. "So," began Tom. "What have you guys been up to?" I shrugged.

"Erm...I can't remember."

"That much, huh." I smiled, nodding. It felt weird, you know, having one of your old friends in your new life. You need to experience it to understand. After a couple of hours, he had to leave.

"Call me, yeah?" I nodded, pulling away from out hug. He smelt vaguely of burnt toast for some reason. But, nice burnt toast. Erm...yeah.

"See you soon." Then he turned to the guys, still holding my hand.

"Nice meet you guys." They shook hands all formerly and everything. I couldn't help but laugh. "You guys can hug you know, I won't automatically think you're sleeping together behind my back."

"And what if we are?" protested Billie Joe, wrapping his arm around Tom and Mike, who were pissing themselves. I grinned.

"Okay, I have to go. Talk to you soon." He walked over, hugged me and again and kissed me on the cheek. As he left, I felt myself blushing. Mike surveyed me slightly. Then looked at Tom who was just leaving, then back over at me. Then he grinned stupidly and pointed at me.

"You have a crush on him," he stated, grabbing my arm and pulling me out of the café.

"No I don't."

"Yeah you do."

"No I don't."

"Yeah you do."

"No I..."

"Now, now, children. Break it up," butted in Billie, pulling us apart. I grinned.

"Yes Dad." He grinned as we all skipped (for some reason unknown to me), back to the bus stop. "Thanks for coming with me," I muttered, breaking a silence that had lasted for AT LEAST five minutes as we sat on the bus.

"No problem."

"Anytime." I grinned. Time past fairly quickly, and before I knew it, we were saying our goodbyes to Billie. He left back for his house, and Mike let us back into our house. I ran upstairs and threw myself on my bed. A few moments later, Mike popped his head around the door.

"You okay?" I nodded.

"Yeah..." He grinned, throwing himself down next to me.

"You mind if I crash here? I can't be bothered to get up."

"Erm...it's 4pm."

"And? Do you have a problem with that?"

"No, sure. Do whatever."

"Thank you lil sister." I grinned and he rolled over. I sat there for a moment, gathering the energy to get up and have a shower. But I found myself slowly drifting off to sleep...

I rolled over to see the sun filtering through the gap in the curtains. I groaned slightly, glancing over at the clock that hung on the wall. Ten past ten. Dammit. I'm late again. I stood up and shook my head, attempting and failing to wake myself up. Then I stumbled over to the window and looked out. Okay, it was sunny. Brilliant. Another long Saturday afternoon stood behind a shop counter. Imagine all the fun to be had there. I turned around and poked the lifeless body sprawled on my bed, still fully dressed.

"Mike," I mumbled, poking him slightly. He didn't move. "Mike," I repeated, a little louder. He stirred slightly. I sighed. "Look, Mikey boy, I really don't wanna resort to this but you've left me no choice. MIKE!" I yelled down his ear. He sat upright immediately, looking wide awake. Then realized where he was.

"Erm...Cleo? Why am I here?"

"You collapsed at Billie's last night," I began, "And he was too stoned to take any notice of anyone."

"Why didn't you just leave me?"

"Well, no offence, I thought that if I left you, you might end up sleeping together. And I have no problem with that, just, not anytime around my birthday." He laughed.

"You're such a lovely sister."

"I know." He grinned, getting up and looking at himself in the mirror as the doorbell rang. I scurried across the hall to the front door. Swinging it open, I grinned at who was stood outside. His brown hair was sticking up all over the place, and he looked like death warmed up, but he was smiling. His green eyes almost twinkled. On my doorstep stood a seventeen year old Mr Armstrong.
