The Words That I Can't Say, chapter 15
Leigh woke up to the sound of her cat scratching on the door. She opened the door for the stupid feline. She really hated her cat. She seriously thought about killing it one day. But she'd get grounded and her parents would think she was some person that was meant to be a serial killer. Hm... scary.
It wasn't long before she remembered Pete. He was real mad. Real mad. And Casey was innocent maybe. She still wasn't sure. So when her phone rang she knew who it was. Or so she thought.
"Hey" Leigh said into her cell.
"Hey, what's up?" Said Patrick, not Casey.
"Not much" Leigh said glad to hear the softness of his voice again.
"I know this is uh... reminding but would you have any idea where Pete is. He hasn't arrived yet and we said to meet here 2 hours ago." Noises came from the background. They must have been at some kind of gas station about to go on tour.
"No I wouldn't. I already thought I knew who he was, but apparently I don't. So I guess my guess is probably worse than yours." Leigh let all of those words slip out at once. They didn't sound so good when that happened. She bit her tongue to crush anymore words that wanted to come out.
"Ok well I'll text you later, we're heading off to Detroit." Patrick said as a bus honked in the background.
"Ok have fun" Leigh said thinking her life was over beyond over.
"No seriously go have some fun, for you Leigh. You deserve some fun. Don't break yourself for him." Patrick muttered before saying goodbye.
Leigh sighed and hung up the phone.
'I should have some fun' Leigh said to herself.
She put on her best black jeans and a white shirt. She called up her old friend.
"Hello?" Said a familar voice.
"Hey it's Leigh" She said inoccent voice.
"Hey I thought you'd be dead and blaming me for it by now." Anger filled her voice
"I would but I got a hint from Mr. Wentz that his was his fault not yours." Leigh tried to explain.
"So we good." Casey asked very seriously.
"Yeah we're good." Leigh said. " I need to get out, you want to come."
"Sure where we going?" Casey said.
"The golden arches?" Leigh suggested.
"The golden arches it is." Casey agreed.
A half an hour later they were sipping chocolate shakes and stuffing there faces with french fries.
They were singing the songs that made them who they are, and telling the jokes that kept them from hurting themselfs for so long.
They gave eachother hope. Hope that everything would be alright. Even if it wasn't.
