When Billie Joe and Katie had finally found a place to sit and put some good beer in their bodies Katie spoke up.
"So what did you think of Adie?" Katie asked, staring into Billie Joe's deep green eyes.
"You said she was a Green Day fan, right? Well, she didn't look like one. I mean, she had that ' who the fuck is Tre cool? ' shirt, right? Well I didn't see one thing of me or Mike. Mike will not be pleased," Billie Joe laughed, he made a mock a face like he was angry.
'This is the kind of stuff I really miss about hanging about with Billie Joe and the guys. I mean Adie is great, but no one can support me like Billie when my mom is on the rampage, ' Katie thought as Billie Joe moved closer.
"Well, just take heart that you're her favorite band member. You're everyone's favorite. She just doesn't want to act like a groupie or some prep who only likes the band cuz of you. Though that didn't stop me from listening to you guys. You being the hott one in the band was just a perk," Katie said, Billie Joe was now sitting so close to her that she could feel his breath on the back of her neck.
"You know. If it hadn't been for me and the band you would be a wreck right now. Cuz your mom and that kind of shit. The thing I would regret most though if we hadn't started the band is the fact that I might never have meet you. Then life would be even more hell then it's ment to be," Billie Joe sighed. His head was leaning on Katie's shoulder now.
"That is the most deep thing I've ever heard you say that wasn't in a song," Katie laughed.
"Well, I am capable of thought outside of song writing. Either way I'll take that as a compliment."
' This is the closest I've ever been Katie. Well, besides that time I was drunk and that time that she was drunk. It's nice talking to her when niether of us is stoned or drunk, ' Billie Joe thought as he took a swig of the cool refreshing beer in his hand.
"'Member what I told you about me liking people for only short periods of time and then just moving on? Well, to tell you the truth this is the longest I've liked someone and the thing is I didn't even know it," Billie Joe confessed.
"Yeah, I remember cuz I was thinking the same thing. Ever since that scumbag of an ex-boyfriend cheated on me I've found it harder to trust people. Though I did learn that all people who smoke pot are pretty deep. And I need to say something too. Eversince I met you guys I've had this weird feeling in the pit of my stomach. I wasn't sure what it was at the time, but I think that I finally figured it out after last night when you were drunk and feel asleep on top of me," Katie said, she was starting to get really red.
She wasn't sure wheather it was the fact that the crowd was making the room warm or the deep conversation she was having with Billie Joe. She had never been talking to him like this when he wasn't stoned or drunk.
Then Billie Joe smiled. It wasn't just his evil little stage smile, it was more. Without even saying anything he was telling her that he understood and wanted her and not Adie.
"This time I can really say it and really mean it now that I know you aren't hooked on Adie. I love you Billie Joe," Katie finally said, leaning into Billie's warm chest.
"Hmm. Katie who I drink beer with and love or the girl that loves Tre more then me, but has a sexy butt? I think I'll take the girl I love over Tre worshippers any day," Billie Joe said, before leaning in to kiss Katie.
It was a lot better then the kiss they had shared when Billie was drunk. It was way better then the one they had shared in the bathroom that morning. It was better because Katie had no fear of Billie Joe falling for Adie and she had no fear of Billie Joe leaving her. All she knew was that this was the best damn thing that had happened to her since her mother had gone insane.

"I guess that answers my question about if you love me. Cuz I sure as hell put my heart and soul into that," Katie said after a minute.
"Come on. Let's go find the guys before they drug up Adie to bad and carry her home. I have some important stuff to tell them and after this you better, sure as hell, come on tour with us. No more free beer meets, this is the real deal," Billie Joe said, puting his arm around Katie as they got up to find the rest of the gang.
"Yeah, sure as hell I am coming. I love my dad and he loves me, but he knows the hell that I'm put through everday. If leting me buy a car before I'm of age isn't saying go live your life, I don't know what is. Just have to grab my stuff and he'll say that I disappeared into the night. He loves me like that and mom will be over joyed
