A, B, C, D, E, F, Green Day, chapter 4
It felt like hours until we reached that good old park. It was really calming to be in a place like home again.
"Here we are. The place where we first met and I saved your butt again," Billie Joe laughed.
"Hey, that was the first time you saved my butt, not the hundreth. You did that plenty of times afterward though," I laughed along.
I remember that day as if it had happened only the day before. My mom had been in one of her moods again and I had decided to run like the coward I was. I ran from that house like a bat out of heck until I finally reached the park.
I was lucky enough to have grabbed a beer out of the fridge before mom had started throwing stuff again. I thought ' what the heck? I won't be going anytime soon so why not get rid of the pain right here?' I drank so dang much that day. I wasn't able to tell the difference between a tree and the light post down the road.
To make a long story short I was wandering around until Billie Joe, Mike, and Tre had shown up. As it seemed they too were on their way home after a night out of drinking.
"Hey you! You okay? You look worse then Tre when he is super drunk," Billie Joe yelled.
Since I was too drunk to reply I just fell down right then and there. I don't remember much after I passed out though. I just woke up on the couch in Mike's house and there sat Billie Joe.
It turned out that Mike had been throwing up for hours and Tre was passed out on the floor. So that only left Billie Joe. For some reason he hadn't drunk as much or he was able to drink alot because he later told me that he had drunk as much as he could hold, but never got sick.
As I passed in and out he just sat there and watched over me. He had a face like an angel that night. Or at least that is how he looked when ever I had to get up to run to the bathroom.
The next day I was as good as new. Only I didn't feel like going home to hear my mom scream her guts out. The boys invited me to eat at Arby's and ever since then I always hung out with them.
I guess it was the fact that Billie Joe took care of me that made me like him so much. And over time he just paid special attention to me at a gig.
I don't need to be told if he loves me. The way he looked at me as I recounted the story of how we met was enough to say that he did have some kind of feeling for me. But being me I'm always ready to get hurt either way.
We didn't talk that much after I finished. He pulled his guitar out of the car and began to play the song 409 In Your Coffeemaker that he had told me about.
It was about noon when we finally got back to the house. As I walked in the door Billie Joe ran up behind me and pulled me close.
It reminded me so much of how mom used to hug me before she started to not care anymore.
Then he did something I didn't expect. He gave me a soft gentle kiss on the surface of my lips and ran off to go get Mike and Tre for practice.
No warning whatsoever. Only I didn't feel violated. Just loved or at least how I hadn't felt in so long. I thought as I put my hand to the place where his lips had been only moments before.
