Just One More Day, chapter 2
I woke with a start the next morning, my feet and legs were lying in Billie Joe's lap and my head was resting on Tre's shoulder, the woolly blanket felt warm around me and the sun shone thorugh the thin curtains dimly lighting the room. Saturday morning cartoons were playing, confirming that we had fallen asleep whilst watching the TV late last night.
I pulled myself off the couch carefully, taking care not to wake the sleeping bodies. I looked back over my shoulder as I left the room, I couldn't help but smile and sigh, I wondered what would of happened if Tre hadn't found me; but then firmly pushed the thought away and made my way out into the peaceful garden.
I sat quietly on the bench, absorbed in my memories, I didn't even notice Billie Joe sit next to me
'Sophie?' He said, bringing me harshly back to reality
'Sorry? What did you say' I replied shaking my head
'I said the bus will be here in about an hour...'he exclaimed searching my face for some sort of answer. I only nodded.
'Are you excited?' he asked
'I would be if I knew where we were going....'
He laughed softly 'I guess Tre did't get round to telling you. We're going to be travelling around Europe!'
Me eyes almost popped out of my head 'Thats awesome! I can't wait!'
He looked down at the floor 'Tre was really worried about you last night....we all were,'
My face fell 'I'm a big girl now, I can look after myself......well, most of the time anyway,'
He laughed again 'It's too cold out here, lets go inside, you never know maybe Tre will have us some breakfast ready!' he beamed brightly
'Well, there's a first for everything!' I joked
'I'm so glad your coming with us Soph,' he said wrapping his arm around my shoulders, as we walked up to the house 'Being with those 2 for two months straight would drive me mad!'
We were met at the door by Mike.
'I was just coming to ask you two if you wanted any breakfast,' he smiled warmly, giving me a hug 'You want some Sophie?'
'You read my mind!' I laughed. We all sat down and ate in silence, savouring each mouth full and generally enjoying each others company. A beep was heard from outside as Tre rushed to the window.
'The bus is here!' He shouted 'Everyone grab your stuff, don't forget anything because we won't be coming back!'
'This is it' I thought 'This is the start of my new life, and I'm gonna enjoying every damn part of it!'
'Come on Guys, we gotta get going!' Tre squealed like a school boy from the inside of the bus.
'We coming Tre! Calm yourself!' I shouted back, laughing..... this was gonna be one hell of a trip...
