Welcome Back To Paradise (Sequel To Don't Look Back In Anger I Heard You Say), chapter 3
It was about six in the morning. None of us had got a good sleep that night, except Kirsten of course. Thank God she didn't hear us shouting that night, or she didn't seem to anyway. Once Mike had taken her to nursery we were going to contact the college.
Once Mike was back we all stood by the phone. "Who's going to do it?" I asked. We all looked at each other, there was an awkward silence in the air, it almost made it harder to breathe. "Oh sod it I'll do it!" I said.
"It's o. K. I'll do it." Tre made a grab for the phone too. I got there first but he still made a grab and our hands touched. I blushed and took my hand away quickly. There was a slight smile on Adie's face. I quickly diverted everyone's attention off me and concluded that I'd phone up the college. I dialled the number and took a deep breath. As the phone rang they all tried to put their ear near the phone to hear what was going on until I said "Can I have some troom to breathe please?"
"Sorry" they all said in unison.
Someone answered the phone "hello?"
"Hi," I stuttered "can I speak to Jo?"
"Jo?"
"Josey, Josey Webb."
"I'll send a message to her class one moment please."
"I'm in!" I whispered nervously. Everyone else looked completely pure white. I felt the hair on my neckstand up as I heard a familiar voice say "Hi how can I help?"
"Jo? Jo it's me, Honey." I felt tears in my eyes.
"Is she there?" whispered Tre. I nodded he gasped and started yelling in the background "JO IT'S US!"
"Is that Tre?" Jo's voice sounded wobbly too.
"Yes it is. But Jo we've called you for a reason, a serious reason."
"What's wrong is someone dead? Oh my God no!"
"No Jo but if we don't do something then one of us will be."
"Honey get to the point."
"It's Matt, he's escaped from prison."
"NO!"
"Yes he has and I think we all better meet up again if we're altogether again we'll be safer."
"This isn't some kind of joke to get us bak together is it?" You could tell she was crying.
"No joke all of us are in grave danger can you get in touch with the rest of them."
"Sure. But wait..How am I to get to college if we're to stay together?"
"Get the train, and Jo?"
"Yes?"
"Hurry!"
"I'm on it!" She put the phone down.
"Well what did she say?" Mike asked.
"That she'll round the rest of them up and they're all coming down here."
"For real?" Adie gasped.
"Yep."
"Just like old times. " laughed Tre. We looked at him sternly, it was no laughing matter.
