Catch 22, chapter 1

"OW OW OW!!" 'Well that's great, let's get out, she said. Grab some coffee, maybe you'll have a good day,' she says. Not when my Dead Kennedys shirt is covered in boiling hot coffee I won't! Bloody Alex.'

"Oh shit, I'm so sorry, here, please take it, it'll make me feel a little less guilty."
He may have just knocked a load of coffee on me, but when he took his shirt off it changed my mind just a little at how angry I was.

"Thanks," I replied, and slumped down onto the Starbucks sofa, now coffee-less. God damn it, if people expect me to be approachable I need my coffee!!

" Mike" he said, extending a hand, still looking extremely guilty, it made me feel kind of sorry for him. Wait. WHY?! He's not the one covered in coffee...

"Janie, but call me Jay" I replied with a half smile. Why the hell was I smiling, I was in California on a boiling hot day covered in a boiling hot beverage! I had nothing to smile about. I didn't like this guy anyway, I don't even know him...

"Listen, again, I'm so sorry about before, I wasn't looking where I was going."

"Hey don't worry it's no biggy, all though if you were a close friend I'd have punched you in the face by now for ruining my DK shirt."

He looked at me and laughed, man he was cute..SHUT UP BRAIN!

" Well, I think it'd be cool if we hung out a bit more and got to know each other, you could meet my friends I'm sure they'd be happy to have a female round the flat," he said, and smiled nervously.

"Yeah sounds great" I practically grinned back at him, I must have looked so stupid.

"As long as you don't go punching me in the face," he said, and we laughed for a while before setting off to Mikes flat.
