Abandoned At A Green Day Concert, chapter 2
When I got home from work that night, I called my best friend, Nicole, and told her what had happened.
"No WAY!" she squealed, so loud I was forced to hold the phone away from my ear.
"Guess what happened to me today!" she continued.
"Umm...the same thing?" I asked. "NO, retard," Nicole scolded. "I won tickets and backstage passes on the radio today!"
"That's great!" I said, congradulating her. "Why don't you take Walter (Nicole's boyfriend at the time) with you? I'm sure he'd love to go."
"Good idea!" she agreed, and she also mentioned before we got off the phone that she would let me ride down there with them, if I wanted. We couldn't wait for the next day to come.
*The next morning*
As I walked into work around 9:30, I realized that I must've looked like a psycho-loony, if the smile I felt creeping across my face was as big as I thought it was. I tried not to look like such an idiot, and toned my smile down a few notches. I couldn't help but wonder when I was getting off that day, or when Billie would get there.
At around 11:00, I heard the customer sensor ding, and when I turned around, Billie Joe was standing there, ready to save the day. "Good morning!" I greeted him cheerfully.
"Morning!" he grinned back at me. He mouthed for me to hold on a minute.
He then went to the back of the store, picked out a pair of converse, and walked up to the register where I was. He paid for the shoes, and then told me to step outside with him.
I asked my boss if I could take my break, and followed Billie...
