It's Not As Easy As It Looks, chapter 6
I re read the letter again and again, making sure it was good enough, and when Wade got annoyed he snatched it out my hand.
"Come on, we have to get to the Post Office before it closes"
"What time does it close?"
"7pm, we have an hour"
"Wow.. that letter took me like 7 hours"
"Well, let's hope you can be an American" I smiled and followed Wade out of the door.
"Well things are starting to brighten up" He laughed as his cell phone rang out, he swiftly picked it up.
"Hello?" I couldn't hear the other line, but i did know, whatever the person on the other end of the conversation was saying, was making Wade panic.
"Ok.. i'll be there soon, me and Jenni have to go to the Post Office, okay thanks, no.. no don't be sorry, i needed to know, yeah i hope he's okay, okay see you, bye" Wade put the phone down and sighed heavily.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing"
"You don't just sigh and say nothings wrong, i mean you were panicing on the phone" Wade sighed once more and looked at me.
"Billie is in hospital" My eyes lit up with a wave of fear.
"Why?"
"He blacked out and hit his head off the floor"
"Did they say why he blacked out?"
"No, i guess it's either private, or Billie just simply fainted" I nodded, and got into the car.
"We have a plane booked for us to see him in the hospital, but first we gotta send this letter"
"Are you close to Billie?"
"I knew him way back, since we were toddlers, i couldn't believe it when i found out i was working with him" I laughed a bit.
"Me.. me neither" I brushed some invisible lint from my top and turned the radio up abit louder.
"Yes Neal, those are crazy thoughts, but i think these stupid inventions are very crazy, i mean a solar powered flash light! Ha" I shook my head and groaned, turning the knob on the radio and moving stations.
"So what are getting for Christmas Derrick?"
"Oh, i don't know, my wife's getting me something"
"Like what?"
"I don't know"
"What are you getting her?"
"Hmm.. what do women like?" I rolled my eyes and changed channels again.
"This is the New York weather report, we have a forecast of cold air, and snow, it's going to be very cold, so pack your thermals and get ready to be building snow men"
"Ah the good old days"
"Yeah, throwing snow balls at the old people in those little cars" The lady chuckled a bit.
"Wow you was a fiesty one"
"Yeah, but what i miss most is just, spending the day with my family, building a snow man with my mom and dad" I breathed slowly and turned the radio off, trying to keep the tears from surfacing, a family is what good memories are built on, but i couldn't even think about going back home, not with my dad, he would glue me to the floor to make sure i never left home again.. he would kill me for betraying him.
It's supposed to be a happy family that makes good memories, not a broken one.
"We're here" Wade smiled, as he turned to look at me, he frowned.
"Are you okay?"
"Y-yeah.. just a little cold i suppose"
"Yeah, snow is coming! We can make snow angels" I smiled to myself, remembering when i did that and i got completly soaked.
"Yeah" Wade led me into the Post Office and we stood in the very long queue....

Tré closed the phone using his chin, Mike narrowed his eyebrows.
"What?"
"Can't you do anything normal?"
"Define normal" Tré sighed, he wasn't perky, how could he be when his best friend was lying in a hospital bed?
"Nevermind" Mike groaned and rubbed his head in the sense of a headache coming on.
"Mr. Dirnt, Mr. Cool" A nurse called, Mike and Tré looked up.
"Mr. Armstrong is ready to see you know, room 368, i'll walk you there" The two of them nodded and followed the nurse, Tré couldn't help but stare at the woman's ass, Mike nudged him and when he got eye contact with Tré he shook his head.
"What?"
"Stop checking her out!" The nurse turned around, narrowing her eyes at Tré, he looked away and blushed, Mike tried to stop himself from laughing.
"We'll talk after you've saw Mr. Armstrong" The nurse smiled and let them into Billie's room, Tré's face lit up as the woman gave him her number, she winked and Tré smiled and walked in to see Billie, flipping channels on the T.V hanging above the bed from the ceiling.
"Hey Bill" Mike smiled, taking a seat in the chair next to Billie Joe's bed, whilst Tré sat on the other side, staring and memorsing the number incase he lost the piece of screwed up paper.
"Hey Mike"
"So.. what happened?"
"I went in.. Adie wasn't home, i went to my bedroom and Adie came in, and i eavesdropped into Joey and Adie's conversation, and Adie had told Nick that she loved him.. loved him Mike.. she's supposed to love me.. and i just had a panic attack, figuring no one.. no one loves me anymore.. and i was alone in the world" Billie placed his hand over his eyes and cried again.
"I'm getting a divorce, no matter how much it tears me up inside, she's betrayed me and the kids, and this is hurting too much, i think she's totally ruined the marriage, there's.. there's nothing left to fix" He sighed, Mike nodded.
"It's the best decision Bill, i'm glad your being so strong about all of this"
"Yeah well, inside i'm broken" Mike got up and embraced Billie, patting his back, whilst Billie started to cry again.
Tré looked up from the paper and thought to himself.
'Poor guy.. he's so broken' Sighing to himself, Tré got up and slung his arm round Billie's shoulders.
"You know what that means right?"
"What?" Billie said, blinking away the tears as Mike sat back down in his seat.
"We get to go babe hunting!"
"Wahoo? Look Tré I appreciate you trying to chear me up.. but it's so hard when i'm down"
"I understand"
"Yeah.. how did you get through the divorce?"
"Well, i dunno..your wife betrayed you, with mine it was my fault, but i guess it hit you twice as hard finding out that she cheated with another man-"
"Like a ton of bricks"
"You have to take it one step at a time" Tré smiled, Billie nodded and wiped his eyes with the back of his hands.
"One step at a time.."

2 Weeks Later
"Wade"
"Yeah?"
"Now that i have a visa.. where am i going to stay?" Wade looked at me, tilting his head, he scratched the back of his head.
"Hmm, guess your gonna have to stay in the hotel until you can afford a house"
"Am i paying for hotel bills?"
"No, it comes with the job, it's free"
"So.. i don't have to worry about the electricity bill"
"Oh yeah you do, we still have to pay for it remember"
"It's gonna be weird going back to the hotel with no one there, since the gang are back home"
"Well, you can always go to Oakland" I shook my head.
"No, don't want to invade on their private lives"
"Why? Tré is like your closest friend, Mike always helps you and well.. before Billie left he always turned to you for help"
"You have to make life harder don't you?"
But Wade was right, Billie did turn to me for help, Mike was my personal shrink and Tré had grown so close to me in the past two weeks. Tré was such an awesome person, if it wasn't for him, me and Billie would never of become friends..
"Jen.. you gonna have this vodka?"
"Maybe" I smiled evilly, Tré shook his head and laughed quietly, before shrugging and taking out the bottle of vodka.
"It's mine now then"
"I'll just have to steal yours then"
"Nooo"
"Yess"
"Nooo" I rolled my eyes before going back to read the magazine.
Ways To Lost Weight In 10 Days..
Nope.
I Woke Up In A Morgue!
I laughed to myself and read the article, but i felt eyes burning into the back of my skull, i turned around and saw Tré staring at me.
"What?"
"Nothing"
"You was staring at me"
"No the magazine"
"Oh" I said blushing.
"Did you want me to look at you?"
"No, it freaks me out"
"Oh.." Tré sat down next to me with the bottle of vodka.
"Wanna share?"
"Nah"
"But.. it's like Friday, you don't have work tommorow"
"Oh yeah.." I smiled and grabbed the bottle, before sighing and handing it back to Tré.
"No, i don't feel like getting pissed"
"Why?"
'Because i ended up in bed with a married guy last time..'
"Cause.. i dunno.. just don't"
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah, why?"
"I dunno, i know i've only known you for a week and a half, but i can read you like a book Jen, you've been distant and less talkative, why?"
"I guess i'm a little nervous, everything has just sunk in"
"What? The fact your stood infront of the Cool?"
"Yeah something like that" I smiled and settled down the magazine, crossing my arms and looking at the clock, it was 7pm.
"Hey.. do you think we should cheer up Billie Joe by taking him out?"
"I don't think that helps the marriages blues"
"But, you and him could be friends"
"Tré.. we are friends.. i think"
"Not as close as us"
"Well duh, were like seen together 24/7, i think news people have started rumours"
"Really? Shit! What about Stevie?!" Tré ran out the room with his phone clamped over his ear, i laughed, but then i sighed, maybe Tré was right, maybe i should take Billie out and cheer him up, i walked into the bathroom in the suite and took a shower, i hopped out 10 minutes later, drying myself off and slipping into a black satin dress, i applyed way too much make up and did up my hair, i looked at myself in the mirror, i could almost tut myself to death, i was going out with a friend, not going to a club with a boyfriend, i sighed and shrugged, re applying a 7th layer of eyeliner to my eyes, and slipping on some black flat shoes, i walked out the suite and locked the door, knocking on Green Day's and waiting impatiently.
Wait.. what if Billie Joe.. didn't want to go out?
Too late he answered the door.
"Hey Je-" He stopped mid sentence and gauped, his eyes were frozen to my face, i blushed a little and looked to the floor.
"Hey.. wanna go out? It will cheer you up.. hopefully" I said pathetically, Billie gave me a half smile and let me in to the suite, i sat down on the couch and Billie joined me.
"It was nice of you to offer.. but i don't feel like it" I sighed and looked down. Stupid Tre! Now i look like a fool!
"Well okay" I said getting up.
"But hey! Your welcome to stay here and try and cheer me up, Mike tried before he left to see Brittney, Tré's been trying the most stupidest things.. hey where is Tré?"
"I got him paranoid about rumours so he went and called Stevie"
"Oh.. okay.. so sit down" Billie said patting the seat next to him, i sat down smiling, and we talked for half an hour about the little things in life.
"Hey.. wanna go to the supermarket?"
"Dressed like this?" I said pointing to my outfit.
"Sure!" He smiled, i rolled my eyes and nodded slowly.
"Okay then, let's go" Billie grabbed his coat and we made our way outside, it was raining, and my coat didn't have a frigging hood, i groaned to myself, almost feeling my face melt as the rain hit it harsly, i could feel the make up washing away.
'It's supposed to snow, not rain' I mumbled to myself as Billie hailed a cab, we got inside and we smiled to the cab driver.
"Going somewhere special?" He asked Billie, Billie laughed.
"Supermarket" The cab driver narrowed his eyes and looked at me, i smiled weakly, he shook his head and started to drive.
"How rude" I whispered, Billie laughed quietly, as we watched New York fly by out the cab window.
"We're here" He said pulling up to the supermarket, Billie looked at the price and paid him before we jumped out the cab, we walked in and immediatly all eyes were on me, i bet i looked like a mess, my hair was soaked, my make up was running and i was soaking wet, not to mention i was wearing a satin dress in a supermarket.
Billie walked into the fruit isle, glancing at what he could buy, a group of people walked past me, pushing into me and laughing, shouting 'whore' at the top of their voice's, Billie turned to me and frowned when he saw my sad expression.
"You okay Jen?" I looked up, not hearing what he said clealy.
"Hm?"
"You okay?" I picked up a peach and shoved it into Billie's face.
"Just peachy thanks" And i put them back down on the shelf, Billie turned away smiling, i shook my head and continued to walk next to him.
My ears were bleeding.. i could NOT take anymore of their screaming! Jeez how did Billie put up with this crap everyday?
"I forget to wear my cap and glasses once, and i get mobbed by 1000 teenage girls" I bit my lip to stop myself from laughing.
"Oh my god! It's that Billie Joe!" A girl with brown hair and purple streaks said to her friend, her friend nodded and they smiled shyly, before walking past Billie, cleary too shy to get an autograph, Billie smiled to himself.
"Hey" He said, they turned around and nearly died of shock.
"H-hey" The girl's friend said.
"Where.. where are M-Mike and Tré?" The girl said nervously, Billie smiled, she wasn't one of those annoying 'teenies'.
"Mike is in Oakland with his fiancé and Tré is somewhere" Billie laughed.
"C-cool.. so uh.. good luck on the Grammys" The girl smiled.
"Thanks" He smiled back, the girl and her friend nodded and started to walk off.
"You want an autograph?" The girls nodded slowly as Billie took out a pen and some paper from his pocket, i looked at him weirdly.
"What the hell?!" I whispered.
"If i think of a song i can write it down.."
"I bet that's not it, i bet it's cause you know you have fans running after you" I laughed, Billie chuckled, before handing the autograph to the girls, the girl's friend turned and looked at me.
"Are.. are you friends with Billie?"
"I work with him.. and we're friends" I said, muttering 'I hope so' lowly.
"That's cool, this is my best friend Morgan, i'm Tessa" She held out her hand and i shook it smiling.
"I'm Green Day's photographer" I smiled proudly.
"Lucky you!" Tessa smiled, as she nudged Morgan who was playing with her brown hair, her hazel eyes came into contact with mine and she smiled.
"How old are you?" Morgan enquired.
"25, 26 in March.. you?"
"I'm 16.. Tessa is 17 though.. and she rubs it in" She laughed.
"I used to do that to my friends.. i miss them"
"Don't you see them?"
"No, they're in England"
"Oh so your from England?"
"Yeah, moved out here for the job"
"Oh cool" Morgan smiled sweetly as we walked through the supermarket, with Tessa asking Billie random questions.
As we approached the counter Billie unpacked his things from the trolley and payed for the items, we walked out the supermarket and i had forgotton about the rain, i groaned again.
"Bill, are you gonna hail for a cab again?"
"I could drop you off to where ever your staying at" Tessa offered, me and Billie nodded eagerly and got into the car, me and Billie sat in the back, Tessa drove and Morgan sat in the passengers seat.
"So.. did that cheer you up?" I smiled at Billie, he smiled back and nodded.
"Yeah, it did actually.. took my mind off things, thanks for the help"
"I'm always here for you, and hey i'm known for giving out good advice!"
"Hey Jen" Morgan turned around in her seat and looked at me.
"Yeah?"
"Why are you wearing a dress, if you just went to do some shopping?" I smiled to myself.. somethings are just best left forgotton..
"Okay yeah.. do you know where there are any hotels in Berkley?"
"Plenty me friend" He said in one of those stereotypical London accents.
"Don't do that.. ever again" Wade smiled.
"Okay governor" I playfully slapped him on the arm, after a few moments of mucking about we fell silent.
"So.. the Bullet In A Bible shoot is prosponed until next month?"
"Yeah.. just need things to cool down between everyone"
"Yeah"
"Let's get you on a first class plane to Berkley then shall we?" I nodded, i was about the go to Calafornia!
***
Blinking myself awake, i would never of thought i would sleep on a plane, but since it was late at night, i decided to take a nap, i un did my seat belt and got my luggage from above me when someone knocked into me.
"Oh.. sor- Morgan!" I smiled.
"I forgot you were going to Calafornia today, how was first class?"
"Awesome, you have to thank Billie for that" I nodded.
"Will do.. again" I laughed, walking off the plane and getting onto the little bus.
"What are you doing out here then?"
"Well i was all alone in New York since the guys went home to re piece their lives, so i have decided to stay in a hotel in Berkley"
"It's good that you have built a relationship so quickly with them"
"There nice guys, hey maybe you can come round to my hotel room or something and we could visit them together! Oh and where's Tessa?"
"She stayed behind, she didn't want to go"
"Huh? Why not?"
"She has a boyfriend, she can't live 2 seconds with out seeing him" I laughed as Morgan rolled her eyes, we got off the bus and went inside the airport, once we had gotten our luggage i was being hailed by a man in a suit, i walked up to him and smiled.
"Jenni Walker?"
"Wade's unknown friend?" I smiled, he nodded, as i started to walk off, leaving Morgan behind.
"Hey.. Morgan.. do you have a ride home?"
"No, i'm taking a cab"
"No your taking a limo" She gasped and walked next to me.
"You travel in limo's?!"
"I don't know why, Wade likes to spoil me" I laughed as we hopped into a limo.
"I have never been in a limo before" She said poking various things.
"We have a T.V, a mini bar.. but no hot tub"
"Darn" Morgan laughed.
We had been in the limo for a quarter of an hour when we reached Morgan's place.
"Er.. Morgan"
"Yeah?"
"Your staying in Hotel Wave?"
"Yeah.."
"Me too!" I smiled clapping my hands.
"Billie booked it up for me" I narrowed my eyes for a second.
"He set us up!"
"What?"
"He got Wade to make me go on the same plane as you.. and then we're at the same hotel together.. he set us up!"
"But that's a good thing"
"Yeah, for once" I laughed.
"What room are you?"
"Dunno, i'll have to see" The limo driver hopped out and got our luggage.
"I hope it's okay, but your sharing an apartment" I turned to Morgan, she was smiling.
"Awesome" I said and followed him up to our room, i glanced at all the numbers and we came to a halt at number 248.
"Here you go ladies, room 248, enjoy your stay" He smiled and left us, we opened the door with the keys he had given me and i looked in.
"Well, it's not as good as the one in New York, but it'll work" I smiled.
"We have two bedrooms, phew" I smiled in relief un packing my stuff in my own room before getting a call.
"So.. you like your suite?" Billie laughed, i rolled my eyes.
"I knew it was you!"
"Gah, you know my evil schemes to well"
"Evil, this is cool! But it's kinda weird now i think of it, i'm sharing a hotel with a 16 year old, even though Morgan is awesome"
"Yep"
"So.. whatcha doing?" I said rolling around on the bed with the cordless phone pressed against my ear.
"Uhm, looking at some divorce papers, they go on about some of the weirdist shit on here, and i'm looking at all the small print to make sure i'm not signing to anything bad"
"What's happening with the kids.. if I may ask?"
"Uhm, since i go on tours and stuff, I" He paused to sigh.
"I see them for 2 weeks every two months"
"WHAT?!" I yelled.
"Well.. i'm sorta cool with it"
"Billie.. that is so unfair"
"I know, but hey, whatever" He sighed again, i felt sorry for him, he loved his kids more then anything in the world and this whole divorce thing was so horrible and harsh.
"Hey do you wanna come over for some pizza? Maybe bring Morgan?" He quickly changed the subject, i went along with it and smiled.
"Yeah cool, what pizza you got?"
"Meat feast"
"Hey! I'll be there as quick as.. well quick, bye!" I giggled rushing off the bed, putting down the phone and grabbing Morgan who was dancing in the mini hallway we had in the suite.
"Hey! What the fuck?!"
"Pizza!"
"Ohh" She laughed as we ran out the suite, i locked it and we called for a cab.
***
I knocked on Billie's door dancing a little with Morgan, passers by thought we were stoned, Billie opened the door, his black hair ruffled and his eyeliner smudged, he had half of a pizza stuck in his mouth, he waved for us to come in, we walked in and invaded Billie Joe's kitchen.
"We don't come in peace! We come for pizza!" I laughed grabbing a slice as Billie sat down with a root beer.
"Hey.. let's have a party!" Morgan shouted, turning on the radio and dancing, as me and Billie got off of the chairs and started to dance.
Tré burst throught the doors and gasped.
"You mean, your having a party and you didn't invite me?!"
"Come on, we have to get to the Post Office before it closes"
"What time does it close?"
"7pm, we have an hour"
"Wow.. that letter took me like 7 hours"
