Why Won't You Love Me?, chapter 2
The next morning I awoke to a ringing phone. After rolling over groggily, I picked it up and answered equally as groggily. "Hello?" I said quietly, rubbing my eyes before looking at the clock.
"Hey, sleepyhead. Do you know what time it is?" I heard Kylie say over the phone.
"Time for me to go back to bed?" I replied hopefully.
"Nope! Time for you to get your ass out of bed." said Kylie as she walked in my room, flipping her cell shut.
"But why?" I asked, flopping back down on the bed. "Because we're going shopping!" said Kylie, throwing her arms up in the air dramatically.
"Why do we hafta go shopping?" I whined, pouting as best I could while I watched Ky prance around the room throwing clothes on my bed.
"Because your having a baby, you boob. And a baby needs clothes and a place to sleep retard." she said, pulling the covers from around me.
"I hate you..." I chattered, glaring at her. It's amazing how cold it can be in the morning, especially after you've been wrapped up nice and warm for 12 hours.
"Now, go take a shower while I start some coffee." stated Kylie, gently pulling on my arm to get me up.
"Ugh..." I groaned as I pushed my self out of the bed. I walked in the shower and put my hair up, slowly sliding Jeff's Nirvana shirt over my small belly and away from my body. I can still remember getting him this...
"Here, open mine!" I said, running over to Jeff and handing him his present. As he ripped the paper off, I could see how gorgeous he was as his curiosity built.
"Holy crap! Thanks, Keel! I love it!" he said, kissing me on the cheek before wrapping his arms around my tiny waist in a tight hug.
"No problem. I know how much you love Nirvana." I replied shyly. I had had a crush on him for a long time, so I was really awkward around him.
"Here." Jeff said, handing me a small black box. I glanced at him as I opened it, noticing how he was gazing at me.
"Oh my God..." I breathed, pulling out a slender silver chain with a small black onyx dangling on the end. "I saw it and I noticed how it matched those earrings you have, so I got it for you. Do you want me to put it on for you?" said Jeff, looking at me with a small smirk that was so Jeff-like.
"I don't know how I'm ever going to repay you." I said, handing him the necklace before turning around and holding up my hair.
"Just wear it. Forever." he said, snapping the clasp shut. I let my hair cascade back onto my back and shoulders, placing my hand over the stone. I turned around and hugged him, whispering "I never will" in his ear. And I haven't.
After snapping out of my trance-like state, I finished undressing before turning the shower on. I quickly showered and dried off, deciding to leave my hair curly. I walked out into my room and put on the jeans and light blue maternity shirt that Kylie had thrown on my bed, slipping on some white flip flops before heading downstairs.
"God, you are so lucky! I mean, when I was pregnant I wasn't as skinny as you." said Ky as I walked into the kitchen. "No you weren't Ky. You were skinnier!" I said, grabbing the cup of steaming coffee off of the counter and sitting on one of the stools at the snack bar. I took a sip and grimaced. "Decaf?" I asked with a disgusted look on my face. "Duh. We all know that I'm allergic to caffeine and you can't have any 'cause of the baby." said Kylie, lifting one eyebrow.
After finishing our coffee, I ran back upstairs to brush my teeth and get my purse. I kissed Jeff's picture before surveying the room to make sure I had everything. After that, Kylie and I headed out to her car, turning up the radio as loud as possible without blowing out the speakers. As Kylie sang at the top of her lungs, i sighed.
This is going to be one long day...
