The Famous Couple, chapter 1
"Tonight we have a special guest, Green Day is here tonight, give 'em a big hand!" Conan O'Brien announced, as Billie Joe and Mike walked onto the stage, sitting in the chairs.
"How are you guys doing tonight?" O'Brien asked, acting like typical himself, if that makes any sense. Mike and Billie Joe looked at each other.
"Very good actually, we're doing our usual stuff, touring and such. We're working on a new record, but it's currently in the works, and there really isn't much to it yet. We're expecting to have it out in a year or two," Billie said. Mike nodded.
"So, what do you all think about Mr. Tre Cool and his new girlfriend? I hear they're a big hit," Conan asked. Mike rolled his eyes and smiled. He knew this O'Brien character well enough. Billie smirked.
"They're back stage, waiting for their 'big introduction'. She is a big hit, those two are inseperable!" He chuckled.
"Yeah, they are the most hysterical couple I've ever been around," Mike said grinning, recalling the funny issues they had in the past, in his head. Conan raised an eyebrow.
"Before we bring them out, how about you elaborate on this subject. How did they meet? How serious are they? And most importantly, how did they meet?" The two rockstars looked at each other and started to laugh.
"It all started when we met this random teenager, and she was rocking out to 'Hitchin a Ride' outside of the punk community in Oakland. Tre has been all over her ever since," Mike said, recalling the day...

"I'M OUT OF HERE!" 18 year old Melissa screamed out her truck window, finally getting to leave the small Washington town she had called home for all 18 of her years.
Just before she left, she packed every item she had, and set off to her new life in California. A year or two just to flownder and discover life, and then a year or two in culinary arts school in San Fransisco.
But for now, It was her place in Oakland area she was determined to find. A good friend of hers lived in the punk community, and was urging her to come and join her. She was happy, at least she was going to get away from all the plasticy-clones of her previous town.

"Alright Mel," Olive her new 'roomie' said. "We have a few things we just kind of do around here. First off, most of everyone around here has a mini-storage space over in the lot next to this. It's just to keep track of things and such, so I suggest you get yourself one of those before you do anything else," she said pointing out a large window to another warehouse across the way. "Second, we all operate on the trust system. If someone steals from here, and people find out, which they usually do, you have the entire community against you. So if your a klyptomaniac, I suggest you run for your fucking life!" Olive laughed, and so did Melissa. "Third, it's not a good idea to walk around outside here at night, the gangsters kind of take over. I'd suggest to you that if you feel the need to come back from a bar at night, that you bring male escorts with you." Mel nodded. She understood these rule thingies.
"Okay, so you see that this is a rather large space. Well, five of us including you stay in here. We have two bathrooms here. Most of this wing of the warehouse was offices and shit, so that's where we are. Yeah. We dont have as much trouble with the cops as people think. We usually keep to ourselves. When the cops show up, it's usually because of the fact that the gangsters have involved themselves, or someone got caught with drugs. Anyways, some of the other girls will wander in and out of here, so you'll probably get a chance to meet them. Your space is over here," she said pointing to a roomy corner. "I'll help you unpack and get settled," she offered.
"Thanks! This is pretty awesome, I finally feel like I'm where I belong now. I lived in anti-punk central!" Mel said with a disgusted look on her face.
"Yeah I did too. I'm glad you're here! I heard that Green Day lived in this community!" she said with a grin.
"Oh my God! Awesome! I love Green Day! Well, and The Clash, AC/DC, Operation Ivy...the works. Here, you can take a look at my CDs." Mel said handing her cds to Olive, who looked them over, nodding in aproval to all of her CD's.
"Okay! Let's get this shit unpacked!" Olive said smacking her hands together.
The two girls took a break after a while, leaving Mel to explore slightly. There was random loud music coming from random rooms, all with graffiti, local band posters, and lyrics all over them. She looked at this one poster. 'The Gilman huh...' She thought, 'I have to go see some bands there.' She made a mental note of the times.
She walked down the stairs, to see some random people strumming their guitars, lying on beat up couches tapping their feet. It was all very awesome, just a whole bunch of people living together. It was nice to feel like she was a part of a Minority group. Eventually she wandered back into her room to unpack some more.
About an hour later, Mel walked down to the Mini-Storage and got herself situated. She bought a large storage space, so she could hook up her computer in there. She arranged her stuff so she could walk down and get it any time and grab what she needed, including her two guitars, which were secured in fire proof lock-boxes.
After about 2 hours of rummaging around and unpacking crap, Olive suggested that they hop in her car and drive to 'Rudy's Can't Fail Cafe', the "highlight of all resturaunts," as Olive put it.
While there she met the other girls living in the room with her. Penny, Jessi, and Vicki. They were all really nice.
"Hey ladies! How are ya today?" Dolly the waitress asked them. They all smiled and gave her their conditions.
"It's always good to hear that my ladies are doing well. I haven't met you yet! Are you new with these four?" She asked Mel. She nodded.
"My names Melissa, but you can call me Mel," she said smiling. Dolly smiled warmly.
"What can I get you ladies?" Mel smiled. She was glad to fit in.

About a month passed by, and Mel was looking for a job. She drove herself down to Berkeley's shopping mall and walked into Hot Topic, looking for a job.
"Can I help you?" A guy with long black hair and a lip ring asked.
"Ah yeah, I was wondering if you have any jobs open here," she asked.
"Hey you live in my warehouse!" he said smiling. Mel grinned, she recognized him. "My name's Dave, and yes we do have a job open as a matter of fact. I happen to be the district manager around here, so what I say goes," he said, Mel giggled. "Can you strike a quick pose for me?" He asked her. She obeyed. "Nice, nice, ok, I think I have a good position for you. How would you like to apply to be a Hot Topic model? I know that sounds kind of funny, but my Boss says I can choose a few women of my own choice to do this."
Mel was feeling very excited. "It pays well, and I hear it's fun so..what do you say? Are you interested? The head quarters is in San Fransisco, which isn't that much of a drive from here."
"Yes! Yes I am! That sounds like an awesome job!" Mel said excitedly. Dave smiled.
"Okay, here's a job application, and I'll let you fill that out, and I'll call you about it in a few days so you can be interviewed!" Mel smiled.
"Thank you so much, this is awesome! Uh, if I don't get it can I work here instead?" zhe asked. Dave laughed.
"Of course you can! And I'm sure you'll get it unless you have some weird disfigurment, or some overly weird criminal records. I'm sure you'll get it. I've been considering asking you for a while, and some of the others around. Ugh, I have to recruit some guys too, but I think I'll leave that to my boss," he said.
Mel giggled and picked up a Kerplunk flower Green Day shirt and a new pair of bondage pants and put them on the table.
"Yay! A new outfit!" she said in a preppy voice, which made Dave laugh a little. 'Cool! Another friend!' Mel thought smiling.
